Iranians on twitter (after the so called election)
Owledge replied to froggie's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I don't dare any specific judgement. I guess there are problems on both sides. On one side I could easily imagine the Iranian government committing voter fraud, on the other hand I understand why this is seen as necessary. The USA are waging a secret cold war so to speak. Astonishingly there even was an article in the local newspaper about how the USA support(ed) the Iranian MEK (some Mujaheddin) in Iraqi exile in their fight against the Iranian government. What irritated me a bit is that there are so many opportunities for Ahmadinejad to mention what's going on and he is very moderate instead. It already took some time for him to mention what the USA did 1953 and demand an apology for that. But of course many things might be delayed or filtered out by the media. And especially concerning the current turmoil nothing should be regarded as truth. Iran how it is today is to a big degree a construct of US imperialism. Just like the aggressive defense of China is partly Made in UK. One detail that was such a lame example of journalism: A young Iranian journalist said: All my friends voted for Mussawi! Where is my vote?! He should know that there are different classes of society and that just because all his friends voted for Mussawi that doesn't mean that the rest of the country also did. Reminds me of Venezuela where only the middle and upper class protested against Chavez and some even said that the poor people are poor because they're lazy and don't know what hard work is. So ... as I said ... better learn about the causes of the problems instead of the symptoms. Iran should really be left alone, but that won't happen because a usual strategy is to incite all this fear in your enemy to make them look evil. Some Israeli politicians are even so daring (because they can) as to openly say that they welcome religious radicals, because they keep the concept of the enemy alive. When you understand the basics, everything else is just noise. -
Does the video explain the details about how it is harmful to us? If so, could you please summarize this? E.g. is it only the resulting chemicals that might be harmful or is the DNA itself claimed to have an effect (which I would doubt)?

Why is science having such a hard time finding chi?

Rhetorical question or not yet informed about the way our society works? -
Fear campaign as a weapon against love and compassion. Also, they probably try to make people believe in it so strongly that it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Emmerich is probably just glad for a new theme to make big bucks ... in these times of endless remakes.

Recently a thought came to my mind. Of course it's a nice thing to put small, uninvited creatures outside rather than killing them, but this could also be seen in a practical way. I already put many woodlice and spiders outside and noticed the following difference: When you kill a woodlouse in the house, you act according to the principle of natural selection. But this is a passive mechanism: Creatures that tend to enter houses are sorted out, but there's no way a creature could come to a clear conclusion that it is unwise to do so. Now, when you put a woodlouse outside, this will become part of its experiences for the rest of its life (although I don't know about their capacity to remember things, but I mean generally here). Probably this information is spread to offspring and/or other woodlice. It really doesn't matter how much this happens in details, because in a more or less subtle way, probably also in ways unknown to us, this experience will affect the group intelligence or social environment. So - in the longer term - maybe a good way to lastingly get rid of woodlice in the house is to move them outside. Just a theory, put probably if this is practiced widely, some day it will be said that woodlice naturally avoid heated human living space and nobody really knows or cares why. As a sidenote, woodlice are relatively easy to convice 'taking a ride' on a piece of paper and sometimes even seem mildly curious. Some patience is all that's needed.

You could watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZbQBajYnEc but they don't explain how it works. Only interesting is that when they do it, there is even less brain activity in certain regions. After I watched this: I was clarified and confused at the same time. His account of the experience sounds like the blockage-releasing type, the opening to the divine, but when he demonstrates and says that everyone can just do it spontaneously, I got the impression that at the basis this (supposedly) christian version of speaking in tongues is just random, creative babbling. Everybody can do it. And the guy in the video doesn't look excited at all when doing it. Also, the frequent repetition of sounds indicated that it is made up, because when you do it, you often have to wait for new ideas for sounds to make and so you do a 'loop play'. Or is it SUPPOSED to be done this way and would trigger the described bliss?

In reports of people allegedly dissolving into a higher state of being or whatever happens there ... why is it often/always said that hair and nails (teeth, too?) remain? What's so special about them, that they're not included in the process?

Maybe tea not draining, but coffee energy-giving, through the caffein. It is said that long-brewed tea makes tired and short-brewed tea makes lively.

Like Germany has a trauma about the Third Reich, the US have a communism-trauma, sometimes even people who should know better. First do research on what some words mean, then you will understand that China is and was never communist and that socialism is not evil, but that there has never been a real socialism, because it's always corrupted inside. And then you'll understand that once some fundamental problems have been solved, all the Isms will dissolve, too. Calling the New World Order socialist is hilarious, because 1) the NWO tries to come to power through limitless cruelties 2) it implies that they really want to end all wars by supreme power and control and don't just use that as a smoke screen.

The real reason they won't release the torture photos/videos

Also interesting in this context... Christopher Hitchens tries waterboarding: This is very interesting: Openly defending double-standards. Very nationalistic. The problem (besides the fact that that infamous ticking-bomb-szenario can always be atrificially constructed) with this debate about what's appropriate and what not, and that's rarely mentioned, is that we shouldn't debate about a clear legal basis! That is the sick part about it. It is like wanting a clear legal basis for when it is OK to kill and eat your pal when stranded and starving on a desolate island. It is the intent to make a difficult decision easy and waterproof, and these decisions should not be easy at all, that's the point! -
The self-defence table should be great in a taller version in a night bar. 333. Bright Idea: Xtreme Sledding http://sparkbugg.wordpress.com/page/9/ One day I want to let my somewhat similar idea come to reality: Same concept of extremely low riding height, but motorized! Imagine lying flat directly over the road with a >100 hp high-revving boxer engine in the back!

We dunno shit 'bout nothin'! Some time in the future an enlightened gal might say the sun is made of candy, and people will say "That's so incredibly stupid!" and she will say "Oh, like YOUR theories are any better!".

How comes that filme like this tend to be aired only in a few select theatres, but Michael Moore gets his stuff out everywhere? All a matter of marketing? There are for example two films that I would recommend fellow Germans, but they won't be translated and remain 'in the underground': "Battle in Seattle" and "This Revolution". Very powerful in showing the other side of the story that's usually being hidden from the people. Fierce Light sounds really interesting due to the novel(?) approach of examining spirituality and activism. But as always... people ignore what they don't like. There's so much information out there that gives a pretty good picture of the world. Let's hope that films like this will get more time in cinemas in the future. The sooner, the better.

Yeah, there was a whole lot of explanation missing in the report. They should have said what exactly the 'language center' is for. Maybe it's only for comprehension of language, not the 'mechanics' of moving your lips.

I thought that, too. And it seems obvious to me. You don't clear the pathways once for the energy and all is good, but the energy becomes stronger and then the pathways have to adapt to the stronger current. My legbouncing during Kunlun ceased relatively early, but when I did Kunlun at the seminar, I experienced stronger energies and man, were my legs bouncing again! Once I even had three stages of legbouncing with following calmness at one night, so a repeating cycle of blockade-clearing and current-increase, I guess.

That's why I doubled the thread page size. On my computer this thread only has 18 pages. Isn't that great?!

New Star Trek Movie - All the elements of Tao

I totally understand: By the way, this video is so not my musical taste, but what a creative editing style ... addictive!: -
I just wondered what happens when that hot MSILF shows up. And having sex with a whole galactic federation would totally exhaust you. And if you fuck with them, they'll probably exhaust you in a permanent way.

I'd say a little bit is OK, because the body should be able to deal with more serious poisonings. I mean... alcohol is a 'regular' job for the liver. Of course it will impair your senses, but I don't see it as a problem. You should just not drink alcohol and then do energy practice. Personally, I ended up with only three alcoholic drinks that I infrequently consume: mead, Guinness and plum wine.

Wanna name the root cause? Division maybe. "Divide and conquer" has been very popular for a loooong time.

Maybe some taoists have a specific idea about when one reaches enlightenment, but for me, enlightenment is a path that has many gradations.

I-Kuan Tao interpreted positively: Could be the approach of undersranding how much all religions have in common, and connecting this to a higher understanding. interpreted negatively: Considering the integration of many religions under one roof, including naming them, and claims that they turn it all around, which would disempower people, it could then be summed up with a concise comparison: Eastern Catholicism. Don't follow the ancient teachings of Confusius.

Appears to be the same 'science' as things like healing sounds or Solfeggio frequencies. The LoL (LOL! ) doesn't resonate with me, though. ( Pun intended! ) Could be nothing more than made up words as a carrier for emotional tone of voice, and that's regular ... being touched by emotion - depending on how much your heart is already open.
