You could say nuclear energy is a technology with way too much potential for disaster to give it to children. And with children, I mean the people who have been running the reactors with profit maximization as the main target. There are interesting developments though, like miniature, kind of encapsulated, 'fail-safe', mobile reactors. Or ~99% regeneration of used nuclear fuel. We can do a lot of development in nuclear energy. But when speaking of ALL that COULD be ... why should we? We could easily dump all the energy technlogies that are currently in use.

@mikaelz The dissent comes from different ways of interpreting science. You could for example say that spirituality itself doesn't lead to knowledge, but only when you add scientific method to it. Arguing about mere words ... it happens so often. "Does reality exist when no-one looks?" - Another question that begins to appear silly when you thoroughly analyze it. Concerning quantum physics ... I see a lot of mysticism in it. Scientists there deal with a matter that is too huge for their inadequate minds and thus come up with phantastical ideas about it. That's the religious part. Do not only know that you do not know but also do not mind!

OK, concerning the climate science it sounds like not worth the effort. I'm really interested in first hand reports from Cuba though. Although there is the "Generacion Y" weblog, its degree of bias or spin is at times hard to determine. (Via private message please, if you find something. I'm not regularly watching this thread anymore.)

Did you have them? Can you tell things about it that are especially interesting? Are they known to occur during meditation? If yes, limited to certain techniques? One thing that I'd like to know is whether there are different degrees of them, e.g. crisp and clear like being awake or vague and with little detail like when dreaming. In the latter case I guess it is harder to say whether it was only imagined or authentic to the real location where it happened. And do they come with all perceptions that you have when normally awake, or things missing ... like hearing ... or time.

Wouldn't this thread fit better in Off Topic? And now add a comment about Judaism to this, please. *hehe* By the way ... of course it's not natural to want to kill your children. So where does it come from? Are the mullahs or whatever, the radical muslim leaders really the source of the problem or a cause? Because it would be because they hunger for power, but there are many other people, who do that, too. Oh well, I should stop talking in riddles: A good part of radical islamism is intentionally fueled by 'enemies' who are more powerful, thus can afford to do that, and do it to make them appear even more evil in order to justify more and more drastic measures. EDIT: I've now watched the first quarter or the film. "Radical Islam's Vision for America" - Have you read the Governments vision?! The neocons'? Project for a New American Century? --> Everybody wants to rule the world. That's what's going on. The methods depicted in the film do also apply to many other factions ... on different levels, because some are pulling the strings of others. The rich elite for example want to rule the world, and zionists, too. But zionism seems to be a mere creation of the Rothschilds. And so often when people don't learn from the past, you have huge irony. It's all pretty complex, mad and old. The more you do research, the more dirt you dig up. The hole gets deeper and deeper, and it remains dirty. I recently heard something enlightening: Have you noticed that, in military language, wars are called theatres? That tells a lot about the mentality that's in action there. I couldn't possibly write down all that I have learned in the last years. I can only say that we should never fall for the game of "divide and conquer" and put our focus on one enemy-concept that diverts our attention from the true causes behind it. Watch the two "Zeitgeist" movies - most of what they show is virtually beyond doubt true, and the time is spent a lot better than by watching the TV news or reading the local newspaper.

Ok, this question might be powered by my phantasy. I just don't know about these things. Can people unconsciously and unintentionally leech energy from you? Are there significant energetic things happening between all people? Like when you're in a very good mood and other people around you don't necessarily seem unhappy superficially, but have deep seated problems, that they like the positive vibe of your presence, but are leeching this energy from you? You know what I mean? Like when the positive energy of a person is not so much enjoyed but craved for? I think I read about something like that once, that's why I ask. Aren't there even techniques to shield oneself against these influences?

@Seth - From a scientific standpoint it doesn't matter whether info comes from a lobbied or 'independent' scientist. What's relevant is whether it is true. Because otherwise all claims of scientists who a involved in environmentalism are dubious, too. - Give me some of those really good arguments against the Anti perspective, preferrably some that don't delve deeply into things not easily provable but easily manipulable. (And it would help if those arguments didn't come from people who have alreadly been caught lying or contradicting themselves or like-minded colleagues, 'cause that kinda ruins the credibility. ) - "Maybe in another way I just don't care if Global warming is man made or not, as long as It inspires us to get to work on the real environmental issues we have." --> Which, like joeblast also explained already, it does not. It distances us from it by deception. When you only think you're helping nature when in fact you follow lies, you get farther away from that. And this behaviour creates people with a certain mind, who would kill really sincere and very influential environmentalists or prevent them from gaining influence in the first place. And thus, many environmentalists are damaging their own (stated) cause. - Funny that YOU call MY writings emotional. And it really escaped me where you hinted to your writings as only thought experiments without real negative emotion behind them. Please point to that. You somewhat write like you're talking to yourself or play a game of role change. - What you say about Cuba doesn't defy what I said. You can point out positive things about every country. Not being allowed to speak out against the government is a big issue, especially since you say that nearly everyone loves Castro. Something smells fishy there. Compare it to Venezuela, where speaking out against the government is allowed and the people are strong enough behind the government to make it work. You got any weblinks with (tourist) reports about Cuba?

@NeutralWire What's the difference between separating the mental or the astral body? And in what way does time depend on the location projected to? Shouldn't time be the same in all locations?
-
Thanks! The last part of your answer I do not understand well though. Too far away from my low level of knowledge.

They live in Shermany. Really nice people! ... Except when they're operating a tank. They also love Germans very much. .... Except when THEY are operating a tank.

@Seth Of course it is fear, because I'm assessing a dangerous situation practically and looking for a solution, too. But where does your aggressive intent come from? From fearing that the world might - in your lifetime - be even less enjoyable to you. What you say about time running out is a key and so familiar to me, because I'm dealing with that, too. Time is like the greedy, inhumane boss who tells you to give 110% when you already do your best. You set certain goals for yourself and if you think you won't achieve them with your current strategy, you further radicalize it. And there's a tendency towards that when people feel powerless and/or isolated. But you don't know what's really going on with all the 6 billion people on earth. You just see many more ignorant ones ... naturally. There a lots of educational videos about sociology and history out there, both fictional and non-fictional, that deal with this. I mean, just look at 'islamic terrorism'. Much of it is or has been resistance against injustice. And because they felt so powerless, they called Allah for help and the powerful Islam is their ally now. And what did it bring them? Now the 'west' can call them religious radicals and terrorists and the masses believe it. And you know why? Because now it's true! Another example would be Cuba. Why do you think the government became that oppressive? Well, when Castro has to fear every kind of CIA trick, media manipulation, assassinations and so on, then naturally he builds thicker walls around the bunker. And what did it do? More and more Cubans have trouble deciding whether the U.S. or the Cuban government is worse. The 'enemy' has more control over you than you think. Those who are in control can define the rules of the game, and as long as you play by their rules, they win. They use politics for their causes, you use politics. They do propaganda, you do propaganda, and so on. It's like the U.S.-illusion of two parties: When the repugnicans are in control, the democrats are the great hope. When the democraps are in control, the republicans are the great hope. And asking people why they don't vote liberal or green... "Oh, they won't win anyway, so what's it good for?" - "Ah! you don't want to stand for principles ... you just want to WIN!". After all, I share your thoughts, the essential difference is that I just refuse to let me - due to the circumstances - coerce myself into letting negative feelings dictate my strategy. As is said in the Zeitgeist movies for example, highly strategic, peaceful action has to be taken. Because that would be clever. Violence is not so clever. But of course easier. It is worth every second to nourish genius, for it creates alternatives to violence. Another thing that I'd like to add, because it's kind of enlightening: I hand out info CDs about what's going on behind the curtains, and people are thankful and plan to show it to their friends, too, but then say: "But in the end, we can't do anything about it." How funny! They don't realize they already do.
-
@Seth You are so full of fear. Call it "worries" if you can better relate to that, but fear is accurate. To win something that is not easily achievable, you might first have to let go. You care about the well-being of the environment so much. When you stop thinking that this is a must-be, and emotionally or egoistically disconnect from it, then you become enabled to really help the environment. You will not think "Finally! I reached my goal! I am good!", but you will see the environment recover and feel happiness ... unconditionally. Because what you right now really want is not to help nature but to bring victory to your ego, that calls itself environmentalist. You are confusing love with power. Are you doing any kind of spiritual practice, yet? Maybe you should focus on one that deals with ego-deconstruction. (Actually, I think most of them do.)

Does Kunlun help solving or bearing/ignoring mundane problems?
Owledge posted a topic in General Discussion
I was wondering, because it's all about your self, but on the other hand there are vague hints about the multitude of things that it can lead to. When you face a problem you have to solve and you don't feel that just retreating from it is a good idea, can Kunlun help to solve problems by e.g. making a formerly unseen solution visible? Can it do this if you are aiming towards it? Although I got a vague idea about what the answer might be, I need to ask this for a better basic understanding of the nature of Kunlun. -
@froggie Why do you think I was implying fraud? I'm just researching out of curiosity (and still not getting what the photos are about. A textile thing on a wall? And the orb thing is what exactly? Visible only in camera or human eye also?) By processed I meant added to a photo management software. They were taken not before November 2005. More likely August 2007. The slightly different posture is totally obvious in comparison. Don't know why you say it didn't change. The exact same exposure time of both photos points to flash mode, because it's usual that cameras use a fixed one when using flash. Without flash the camera would have most likely altered the exposure time for the second photo. And the center of the pictures is lighter than the border area. And an in-house, no-flash exposure time of 1/42 combined with ISO 50 might not be impossible, but the other indications are quite unambiguous.
-
How about this: The photos were taken with 12 seconds in between and both with flash. They were processed on the computer about 12-15 minutes after they were taken, the second photo 2 minutes before the first one. Well... maybe you forgot the details. They seem to have been taken more than a year ago. Oh and another thing... The second one with the 'orb' ist noticeably brighter, but the exposure time is the same, so the lighting changed. (Could also be due to an auto-adjusting flash intensity, or the slightly different perspective/angle.)

As you might have understood by now, I didn't say he doesn't have this ability. I just often add no disclaimer, you know. I tend to be very precise and when that becomes interpreted more generally by others, I am misunderstood. I think I'll have to meditate on that sometimes. Now what about this photo?: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?act=At...post&id=509 I see a party, maybe in a disco, UV light(!), UV active surfaces(!), fluorescent paint(!), some illuminated(?!) sign or something, all in half-darkness and a long exposure time making movements blurry. And this is meant to be a photo showing spiritually-powered glowing effects? How is this not a joke?!

I think over-population is just a certain view on things, and not a very clever one, because as I tried to make clear several times, it is used as a means of control and oppression, and serves to distract people from seeing much more basic levels of the problem. I'm often looking at the past to see patterns and mistakes repeated, and to say it as precise as possible: There is no such thing as over-population except when you see all other present factors as unchangeable or changing other factors as less favorable. This number game really is classic and has many examples in history. It's only a matter of time until estimations adapt to the new reality of more advanced technology and understanding. Wanting to apply the numbers of a guy who lived 200 years ago to our present day is an anachronism. By the way... If you haven't already, and it seems that you haven't: I really recommend you take the time to watch the "Zeitgeist" movies. Just google for it! Very eye-opening.

Does Kunlun help solving or bearing/ignoring mundane problems?

No problem! Got two of 'em, you know. And it was worth it. @vortex Law of Attraction actually was something I could identify. I'd been looking for someone who could do the job with a relatively tight budget for about a year and I felt a lot of desperation during that time. And it was nearly the same feeling that that guy caused me during the job he was supposed to do, so I could see a possible connection there. But I'd say if I had thought positive like "Don't worry. Sooner or later you'll find someone." I still would have wound up with that crook. Speaking of Theta: Years ago I used to do 6 Hz binaural beats hemi-sync, but didn't really get flashes of inspiration from it. About not trusting myself: When I was a baby, the child doctor could tell that I exactly know what I want. Well... I have changed a lot over the last years and created some distance to the whole lawsuit thing. Might go even more in that direction with Kunlun. It's just that it's interconnected. The whole way of life I'm in now was significantly influenced by it, so I have a great task ahead of me. Thus I began to see it like that ... a task to complete. At present I would just call it very annoying, because it could last another several years and is burning up money. I'm sure it's not limited to Germany that the judiciary system is totally overstrained and working in slow-motion. It's insane, close to total breakdown. Thanks a lot for your feedback! I can really use the support. -
Interesting that you brought Thomas Malthus up. That guy said the world couldn't sustain more than 300 million people. Pretty frightening when you consider that the rich and powerful elite of the world totally digs this idea. To those who don't find Malthus' ideas frightening, you surely won't mind me telling a thought that came to my mind some time ago and that I'd call a good example of a Judgement of Solomon: How about all the people on earth who think that there are too many people on earth kill themselves? This way they would work towards their goal and everybody would be happy. P.S.: Should be unnecessary to mention, but don't take it too serious! P.P.S: I'm using the word "frightening" rhetorically. Personally I'm not that easily frightened.

You call that an insult?! ... An insult takes two people, and Varj handled it pretty nicely. It wasn't meant to be an insult. Seriously, this is getting weird. When seeing the pictures posted, I got the feeling that this thread, shortly after its beginning, turned into a hilarious, well-disguised inside joke. Or maybe it's just a mess, because someone already did confuse two people. I mean... are we still discussing the authenticity of photos of glowing phenomena here? Please make my perplexity go away.

Does Kunlun help solving or bearing/ignoring mundane problems?
Owledge replied to Owledge's topic in General Discussion
@thelerner Thanks, I can relate to that. Kind of helps hearing it from someone else. @Vortex What you describe is adapting myself to these things that I can't accept in order to feel good accepting them. I've already learnt from the incident to be more suspicious (which is sad). Because, you know, that guy seemed so nice and trustworthy, and that resonated with my positive nature. What an irony that exactly this attitude didn't serve me well there. The fact basis is so clear that it's hard to say it was my fault. I later learned that other people had been ripped off by that guy. The word "fault" depends on the viewpoint. I just think that one has to keep at least a basic connection to factual reality, otherwise the conditions of life might eventually kill you and that would be pretty foolish. You know, like you're standing on a road and a car is rushing towards you and you get the advice to find the reason for your fear of being run over. -
This is so weak ... in more than one sense. You can't be serious, man. You MUST know that your avatar picture is totally useless as a proof to what you say.I, too, am inclined to say that Dr. Morris is a professional photographer. Then again, if you were learning from a professional photographer, you'd probably not use such crappy hardware.

So what you're saying is, when during Kunlun meditation an old Chinese man appears to me, I should ask him for the lottery jackpot numbers? -
