OK, thanks for the abundance of interesting information. I occasionally have itching at said point, but now I remember that it might be I had a scar there. I still have one on the same spot on the other hand which itches a ittle when massaged.

What, season 4 starting next WINTER?! Ah well, I can't expect anything to match the awesomeness of the show itself, but there's still plenty of stuff to watch. This here is funny. The guy (open-minded but non-brony) started making comment videos on the show and it's funny seeing the usual resistance of non-bronies that later crumbles in a subversive way. "I'm not gonna sing along the intro song this time. .... *humm* *hmm* *hmmm* * big adventure, tons of fun ..... SHUT UP!" Then the wave hit him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Vt8N1Ajmfo I guess he didn't know the saying: "You can't wrestle a unicorn without getting sparkles all over you." In another video, the guy embarassed himself regarding simple math and logic and was totally owned by a commenter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0VS2I2ZfIE That logical mistake he makes in the video is actually done a lot by people, but he gives himself additional clues that should make him realize he's wrong. He's grabbing for straws to deny his true self, hahaha. The usual overcompensation.

Season 3 finale blew me away. And as if it couldn't do that on its own, those tricky writers made the episode before the finale a boring person-mixup-comedy, to increase the contrast. In other news... well not news, but the manliest brony in the world once caught a falling laser gun while it was firing. True story.

Just don't anything for a while and see how fast it settles down. Lasting effect should, of course, be of healing nature, not confusion and messyness. Try to make decisions about which phenonmena you would like to keep (like the creativity thing) and sort out the rest. Freaking out, being afraid and worried, might even help in this process. Personally, I had trippy dreams after some ayahuasca ceremonies and tried to get as much grounding as possible after it. Felt like a window had been opened and the closing after the trip was slow. Might depend on how much you allow it to happen. Dunno, just random thoughts. Maybe you can only get rid of the troubling stuff by letting go of the good stuff. Maybe in order to grow spiritually in a positive way, you have to open yourself to the troubling stuff and lose your fear of that. Maybe then the confusing perceptions will vanish too, or be integrated in a non-problematic way. -
He makes himself one of the first targets of social unrest. A money lender being into gold ... nothing new there. "Look, I own way too much and I love it. I pity all you poor suckers."

How the hay do I disable automatic video embedding? Here, this looked like an hommage to an internet meme to me: h_ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0KPvwAOhu0&t=6m50s You know what I mean?

Ayahuasca's native nickname is "the vine of death". Just sayin'. -

Yeah, it's funny. My mind is still striving for healing and thus desires to have another experience, but once I have it, my mind goes FFFFFUUUUUUUUCK, never again! People who enjoy Tunnel of Horror at the faire probably don't have this problem so much. -
Can there be such a thing as a Nazi Dao?
Owledge replied to Mark Saltveit's topic in Daoist Discussion
Yes, conflict is probably an eternal part of the human experience, but the efforts to avoid it are a part of it just as well. It's not about winning, but about fighting the good fight so to speak. Winning is a goal-oriented idea, based on high expectations, and fear is involved a lot in that. Also, while people can only change if they allow themselves to, the myriad of external influences are offering opprtunities for that. E.g. when there is a person in need of help and they can't help themselves, it is up to compassionate action of other people to make a difference, by not being afraid to get involved. Abandon labels and generalizations like that. Let's just view things based on what fears motivate us. I'm not making grand claims, I'm just pointing out that action based on untruth are unwise, and mundane lies (things that are verifiable) can be revealed. They make people operate on a false picture of the world and thus create an outcome based on that picture. There might be lies that actually create a positive outcome, but the person telling a lie will build a more long-term foundation of insincerity that will eventually bite him in the ass. Sticking to the truth may require courage. Lies are the result of a character weakened by fear. I'm not comfortable calling your world view elitist. The label might be suitable, but it's just a scale, it's not a yes/no question. It's also situation-dependent. So-called elitism just stems from a belief that that kind of approach to the world is necessary for the achievement of set goals that a person fears if not accomplished. But it all boils down to connecting with the heart. Harming other human beings while being a human oneself is self-defeating. It also reduces human potential for shaping the world to that of lower lifeforms. It is self-disempowering. There is no need for things like 'weeding out the weak' through survival of the fittest. The perceived need comes from a lack of vision. Reality provides small scale examples of working alternatives. All that makes a paradise-like world a non-reality is the fact that many people are not yet qualfied to uphold it. They can be taught/shown how to. -

Yeah, with drugs the problems can be that th transformation was forced on your mind, thus your mind won't have an easy time to handle it. From personal experience: You experience unity with the universe and the mind still works like "I am this", still tries to identify with something that is bigger than itself. Maybe it helps to remind oneself that since it's a drug trip, it will end forcibly, but for me that didn't work for several reasons. First, I didn't have much experience. Second, I thought I had messed up my brain irreversibly. You mentioned you forgot that you are on a drug, so that would be another possible problem in that state. I don't know what you took, but with DMT for example it might be not a bad idea to spell out in your mind all the 'silly and limited' thoughts and then let the experience slap you in the face. Maybe being caught off-guard is vital for spiritual progress, because a state of being prepared is the mind's desire for control, and that is what is to be deconstructed/weakened. I did two trips on two days, the first day I got stuck at a certain vision, and the next day I wanted to do better, and had an expectation to continue where I stopped the former day, and I did, but it took unusually long for the DMT to have any effect because expectation was blocking anything from happening. Your sexual perceptions can mean various things, but sounds like you are on a path of self-exploration. Is there any chance that you are one of those people who feel 'trapped' in the body of the opposite sex? Or do you think your experience stemmed more from your desire to be an adequate partner for Josh? It might be regarded as politically incorrect (so who cares? haha), but homosexuality might be a phenomenon of early childhood experiences much like many other profoundly traumatizing forms of emotional/mental pain. There are many fascinating clues that hint to that. There probably are dozens of potential reasons/causes, and if that's not confusing enough, you'd have to first figure out which parts of your Self you want to change and which you want to keep as attachment. About stuck in a loop: As I hinted at, the only way out might be the way through. I was in time loops or timeless states and the time would not progress one second as long as I resisted a specific obstacle that I couldn't name or describe. But once I stopped resisting, I made some temporal progress. I think I acually (emotionally) gave in to the idea of not returning to normality, and that might have been the decision to not return to my old self, but to make progress in changing. I'd love to make things less scary for you, but despair might be necessary for the healing process, for despair represents giving in, not resisting a certain reality anymore. Part of me wishes I had overcome a huge barrier during several of my trips, but although a voice talked to me, there was no trust, no idea where that voice belonged to, so nothing gave me the confidence that I'd be alright and NOT messing up my brain. My experiences were way too abstract for my taste and I remember deciding to forget a whole bunch of stuff (seeing 'everything' was a bit too much for me, haha). So little useful to take away from it, although I think it changed me on an unconscious level in a profound way. An unconscious program running in my psyche based on the absolute knowledge that death really means very little and that once you see 'the other side', you could laugh at the absurdity of the fear of death. Of course your normal everyday mind-personality would NOT agree, and that's fine. It's part of the game. Oh, one more tip: When using entheogens it is recommended to not have psychological disorders, like being very paranoid or something, because during the trip you are accessing your unconscious belief systems and might assume they are the absolute truth. It can amplify whatever is deep inside of you. Habitually being sincere to yourself and not too attached to belief systems of any kind might be helpful. ... Then again ... maybe not, haha. You choose! -

I think her real name is Pinkamania Diane Pie. This is so hilariously crazy. The guy is bleeping out stuff that doesn't deserve bleeping, thus revealing the self-defeating nature of the whole bleeping thing. (The rest of the video is pretty nuts. I guess it's random creative outpour. I recommend the alternative title: Frienship is Bad Shit.)

Some people complain about ONE Pinkie Pie being annoying as hell. Wait till you watch S3Ep3, hehe.

Chunyi Lin will personally collect $1.5 million from Stiggy in Australia

Do the various money-offering organisations know that Stig is baiting people with their money for his own project? -
So what's the message of that film? At least the trailer didn't reveal anything that's not trivially obvious.
-
Are you taking anti-depressant medication or any other kinds of drugs? Would you say what the voices are telling you could stem from a desire to rebel and fight against moral beliefs or anything, or is it more pure malice and the enjoyment of it? I'd consider the content of the message part of clues that are valuable for a diagnosis.

John Pilger is indeed an awesome investigative journalist. I've seen more than 50 of his documentaries from the years 1970-2010 and he always reveals the blunt truth that mainstream propaganda tries to silence, to keep from the people's awareness. Allow me to link to my old thread about the same movie: http://thetaobums.com/topic/27304-ben-affleck-ignorant-fool-or-paid-propaganda-agent

Is there an anti-imperialist computer game? (Battlefield style)
Owledge posted a topic in The Rabbit Hole
Did you hear about this movie? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_of_the_Wolves:_Iraq The US government was outraged that a fictional work shown in cinemas would dare to depict the USA as the bad guys. Is there a computer game like that? The Battlefield series for example seems to be part of western war propaganda, solidifying myths about military future and who the baddies are. And I thought, wouldn't it be amusing to release an ego-shooter where the player combats the USA? (and only, not like Counter-Strike where you have two sides) And do you think Electronic Arts would publish it? -
Can there be such a thing as a Nazi Dao?
Owledge replied to Mark Saltveit's topic in Daoist Discussion
From Wikipedia: "The novel addresses not only the corruption of the revolution by its leaders but also how wickedness, indifference, ignorance, greed and myopia corrupt the revolution. It portrays corrupt leadership as the flaw in revolution, rather than the act of revolution itself. It also shows how potential ignorance and indifference to problems within a revolution could allow horrors to happen if a smooth transition to a people's government is not achieved." One example doesn't make a rule. Besides... Charlie Brown is fiction. Because, while of course every piece of work is based on something, something real, and one can argue that it can contain a mix of fiction and non-fiction, using metaphor to comment on politics is not non-fiction work. Thus, I take an abundance of historical undisputed fact as my main source of information. As soon as one introduces fiction into an otherwise non-fictional work, the non-fictional part loses credibility in context. It's not. That's what I meant with "higher mindset". Elitists have always claimed that things will never change, but it always does. Just one example: The claim that overpopulation will cause food shortage has been made again and again, but all that causes starvation is politics of greed and dominance, not lack of food. You will find an advocate for any idea of non-change that eventually was invalidated through change. Outdated mindsets usually only die out when their advocates die out. For many it's too big of a jump to abandon harmful beliefs that they hold dear and made themselves emotionally dependent on. Why is everyone dumping on America? Let me answer that with an info link that I ask you to please read, because what you write shows that you are very much operating on a lack of understanding of the history of world politics, at least regarding the USA: http://www.addictedtowar.com/atw1a.html The problem of illiteracy in Venezuela is dealt with through governmental support for the educational system. The thing with the food packagings is one example of evidence that they mean it, because a government of control-freaks would be way too afraid to give so much power to the people. I also highly recommend you watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhzoIcIgNrk ...and then tell me your thoughts. That's a summary of the belief system you are employing and seeing the world by. Thus, you cannot/won't perceive reality outside of that. Only to the degree you are ready to abandon rigid beliefs will you be able to perceive a greater reality and potentials for a better future. Power itself is not a bad thing; it's neutral. But today's ruling class is almost completely driven by fear-based belief systems. They rule because they feel they have to. And just like the behavior of banksters, you will maybe only but suddenly abandon your beliefs as soon as you have been kicked in the dumpster by your 'rulers'. Because that's how they rule. If you're not part of the upper 1% as you call it, then you're not part of the club. And the club gets smaller and smaller, too, because within the elitist peak, people are competing for power among themselves. The theoretical end result is a single, all-powerful ruler who monitors everything, controls the whole world and kills whoever is in the slightest bit suspect of not liking the way he rules, since he can't take any chances and killing people is daily business for him. Then I want to see you be a fan of the elitist club of the top 0.0000001%. -
Did someone here study material that gives insight into why the dragon has such a different image in the west than in the east? How comes that a creature like that, which one could argue has both fierce and calm attributes, is regarded as symbolizing things like wisdom in the east, while in the west it's regarded as a threat to humanity and associated with all kinds of bad character traits? Now I could understand if this came from the same Christian-based mentality as all the other western religious dogmas, good and evil, being scared of the dark night and all, but I haven't come across any material that would connect the western dragon image to that. To mention another example: goat creatures were villified by Christianity because they were part of pagan fertility symbology and pagans having been the declared enemy of at least the Catholic church. But did the church did the same regarding dragons? Did they villify them in order to antagonise eastern religion/mythology? It seems too much of a coincidence that the "dragon" idea developed indepedently in two regions.

Can there be such a thing as a Nazi Dao?
Owledge replied to Mark Saltveit's topic in Daoist Discussion
I don't read fiction about politics when there's so much non-fiction available. I' not sure about revolution, but non-revolution definitely brings 'the scum at the bottom to the top', as evidenced by history aplenty. I think it all depends on how enlightened the conduct is. If a revolution is done with a higher mindset than those it tries to overthrow, it is an improvement. The higher values in means must not be sacrified for ends sake. Also be aware that whenever the USA (or other 'western' countries) pose as a positive example for good governance or demonizes socialism for its social problems, the USA is what it is due to its imperialism. You cannot blame Venezuela's socialism for resulting in corruption and poverty when corruption and poverty were caused by the USA's interference and the socialist government is trying to deal with those problems. Also compare this: The US government is trying to convince people that the Constitution is of little or no value and attempts to scrap it all the time. The Venezuelan government lets articles of their Constitution be printed on food packaging to ensure that everybody knows their rights. Your views are very much shaped by the mindset of the rule of order and yang principles. The old age, so to speak. It is in decline, for with its imbalance it has brought about great suffering. "Chaos" doesn't have negative connotations for no reason. It is the male-dominant order in the world that demonizes its opponent. Fear of chaos is only there because people have become so dependant on order. Only belief systems can cause human suffering. Change the beliefs into a positive outlook and the world will become a better place. And that requires creativity in that people have to create an impulse not based on the fear game, not reactive, not perpetuating the old game. Being a visionary. It will becomer harder and harder for the agents of order to maintain their dominance. The longer they cling to their fears, the more painful it will be for everybody. I've learned first-hand how hard it can be to abandon fears we (think we) are dependent on. Chaos and anarchy are terms that have been badmouthed too much. But the transition has to be done carefully. Triggering fears is not wise - acting with love is better, although at times difficult.
