Hawaii wasn't always under USA's rule. That spirit was probably more alive before that happened, but it's still an awesome place that supports that mindset through various environmental factors. Problem is that the western part of Oahu is known to be a slum-like environment - high chance to get your car stolen and should be avoided at all costs at night. I guess that's where most of the pitbulls are kept. There's an organisation of natives in Hawaii that want the USA to go back to where they came from and leave Hawaii in peace, but I was told they somewhat lost influence lately. Some crooked stuff happening regarding their military there, corruption-wise and all. Massive culture clash in a way.

@Vmarco Then breed lovely dogs for world peace.

THERE CAN BE NO PEACE ON EARTH WHILE VICIOUS DOGS ARE BEING BRED!!!

If the question doesn't want to, why don't you leave it alone?

Not that I'm paranoid or anything but uh.......

About the video: Who seriously believes that the military has to use urban area to do their drills? You simply have to check: Has this been done before? Is it routine? Probably not. Something is being done that has not been done before, so people have to be vigilant. They didn't give a public statement about what the drill was about, so it's very likely something that would outrage people. It's not the first drill of this kind though. I've seen a video report from a while ago where the army walked with soldiers through actual residential areas and practiced terrorizing civilians. IIRC the residents were told to cooperate with the drill, which included violating their property rights. I'm wondering why this doesn't have massive consequences. Are people THAT inert? -
Very good example of obsession.

LOL, what's with you and vicious dogs? You bring that up whenever an opportunity arises.

Well, it's nothing but right angles and straight lines. I thought that (and also meaningful symbology) is something the left brain hemisphere likes. Is that how a bodhisattva sees? Perceiving certain things as more beautiful than others? Personally I associate beauty more with curves.

@Everything I think you misunderstand the word "bully". A bully is a tyrant. It's people who harasses easy targets in order to feel better about themselves. They have inferiority issues. In school kids, the borders blur. Said process happens all the time in that environment, with varying intensity. It's kids trying to deal with the crap that previous generations left in society. I especially remember one bully from my school time, because of that one time he got the worst grade possible for a test and started crying.

What do you find beautiful about it?

Yes, the swastika is another indicator of how Hitler was fascinated by Indian culture/history. (And as I mentioned in another thread, the "vimanas" in ancient Indian texts, described as the flying vehicles of the gods, might explain the whole Nazi UFO stuff. Seems that's part of the stuff that fascinated Hitler and he probably tried to figure out how to build them, since there are relatively accurate descriptions of them.) The correct way of displaying the Nazi swastika is ends pointing right and standing on a tip. There's an increasing 'tolerance factor' for deviations of this, although not much. AFAIK both rotations have their meaning in Asian belief systems. Here's a funny coincidende: So the Nazis used the swastika, a symbol of good luck, as their symbol. In Chinese culture, "88" is a symbol of good luck ... and that, too, is a symbol associated with the Nazis. (8th letter in the alphabet is H, 88 = HH = Heil Hitler. I think it's even legal on German car license plates, haha. ... "SS" and "SA" are not though. So if you see a car with an 88, you can't know whether the guy loves Chinese culture and wishes for good luck or is a neonazi. I find that spiritually fun.)

Many people are frozen by fear, not in the most obvious sense, but also not meant metaphorically. They are adapted to an unhealthy society, and anything that represents a reminder of something deviating from that makes them uncomfortable. If you deviate from social norms, you become a constant reminder of people's fear that makes them hide in the warm comfort of a society of oppression, violence and domination. In short: By deviating from the norm, you trigger people's inferiority complexes. Deep down they know they're weak-spined cowards, but they wish to suppress that and not be reminded of it. The irony is that they probably condemn themselves more than those who deviate from the norm without an agenda, just for their own pleasure. Think about it: If someone didn't have the strength to cope with adversity and pressure and then you want to talk with them about it, they will immediately think "coward, coward, coward" and blame YOU for calling them a coward / reminding them they are one. That's why non-judging isn't the great solution to healing people. People judge themselves. They opened themselves to bullies' belief systems. A bully has low self-esteem, but if he was in fortunate conditions and got his hands on some power and social influence, he will try to feel better by making others have low self-esteem. It's pretty much the same with honesty. Honesty, honoring truth, is a virtue, yet society is not virtuous. A self-declared champion of honesty will make many people feel uncomfortable, because many people give power to their lies and don't want them unveiled. Ironically, they don't trust people who won't tell a lie. And due to generally widespead weak logical abilities, they will equal not-telling-lies with not-keeping-anything-unsaid. This general problem of 'having sold your soul to the devil' is well-expressed in this movie scene:

First, it's Adolf, not Adolph. Second, AFAIK Hitler aspired to the Aryan race, not the German one. Aryans was the name for beings in ancient India that were godlike in their power, their abilities, who came from the heavens, a race of masters. They were said to have blond hair and blue eyes. Hitler was very interested in ancient history of all kinds. (Thule Society is a keyword.) Third, it gets very interesting when you consider Zionist belief in comparison to your claim that Hitler wanted to replace the "Chosen People". Very karmic and no moral highground to be found anywhere. Also very complex.

Someone should write a book in the category "national self-help literature": "How to Get Rid of the Federal Reserve Without Getting Your President Killed"
-
It was not very skillful. Ralis said "Zero is indisputable.", and that is a claim, a thesis, thus it can be disputed. "fuck off" on the other hand is a command or an action, thus there's nothing to dispute.

I' not sure how much the mentioned gold standard deviates from the later practice (too long didn't read), but some say the problem with a gold standard is that it favors or gives control to those who own gold.

Either the problem is that there is now law like this, or - like In the UK - there is a law like this, but it's violated so often that you don't find enough people interested in suing. There are a few cases in the UK where the media have been reported for being in violation to the law, but there are so many incidents where nothing is happening. It's a tactic of flooding, over (potentially) overloading the legal system. Legitimacy through habit. Tyrants do it, the common people still have trouble learning it.

This could open up a new interesting topic about third party offense. Vmarco addressed it to me and I don't feel offended. His remarks are clearly generalizations/exaggerations and empty rhetoric. I don't expect people to believe every word he says. Also, since he claims he's posting quotes merely to put them up for debate, he would agree that it's completely debatable whether I'm a monkey.

CNN http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afS_SYTdK3s There was also a video I can't find right now, about an MSNBC report of local presidential nomination results, with a ranking 1) 3) 4), while 2) was missing, which is such an obvious self-censoring, because 2) was Ron Paul. They don't even try to hide their degree of corruption. Foreign media is usually better for info about things that don't affect their country. BBC is doing a lot of spin, too. It's often a mix of sincere, proper journalism and outright propaganda. My home city struck a deal with China a while ago, and the city administration deceived the people while Chinese media accurately reported about the contents of that deal.

Well, you can ask the authorities to take care of that for you if you're craving order that much, Mr. bodhisattva. BTW I was born in the year of the monkey, that might explain a bit. I also think that letting go of the senses leads to nonsense. P.S.: Those posts of you that don't contain quotes are the best ones for spiritual discussion purposes. ... The other ones are still good for entertainment.

This is amusing. Vmarco quoted a statement and replied with a refernce to Rudolf Steiner. Then he quoted the very same statement again and responded with a Karl Kraus quote. This is clear signs of academia. Not a severe case though. I've seen much worse. The great Indian guru John Doe once said: "Vmarco is the icon of spiritual delusion." Haha.

One not really that relevant tidbit I could add the the whole comparison thing is that I didn't even generalize. I talked about averages. I didn't mean it completely serious though, that's why I labeled it as cynical.
