Great post, ion!! Your last point leans heavily towards the message of Gnosticism who taught/teach that Lucifer and Christ were the same. But the only thing they say that i reckon you will disagree with is that they hold the God of the old testament to be the demiurge, a kind of satan who believes he is the true eternal self sustaining one.. they believe that Christ coming as an incarnation of lucifer was to bring us back to the true God away from the demiurge. This is supported by the shivaism tradition of old and many other traditions as well.. Peace

Stosh, cool, i agree it is not the thrust of the new testament, and completely agree it is about man and God.. I wasn't aware of Judas and the common purse.. maybe there is a message in there.. To be clear I believe Jesus was bringing in the spirituality to the jews and to the rest of the world, and raising our consciousness to a more spiritual one. I see him as a fully enlightened being, one with God through the power of the holy spirit also known as kundalini. And when one is receives the laying on of hands, it is the same or similar to a diksha/shaktipat to act as an awakening of the hoy spirit in man/woman.. i don't know why we baptise with water now, that was for before Christ.. he and the apostles baptised with spirit and holy fire... so to me that says quite a lot. Either the apostolic succession has been broken or they just haven't lived up to the demands of the holy spirit? all i know is when i do confession i do actually feel a tangible difference, so there is something still there.. but as i said before Christ is still here, if you are sincere enough and really try, he may just come and baptise you himself Peace

also, Jesus was not working during his mission, he used to be a carpenter beforehand.. but i think you will find he didn't use money whatsoever during his mission 'after' he became christ.. Peace
-
Yes Alwayson, that is what read before i posted.. i was giving you my 'interpretation' of it.. they were trying to get him arrested by the roman government for not paying taxes... he didn't say you must pay and obey their laws.. he said it is ceaser's currency, it belongs to him.. 'thou shall not steal' if he didn't give it to ceaser he would be breaking God's law. Peace
-
Okay mate, calm down some dude.. well, i don't really care for the official doctrine.. i think it has been modified.. How did you being a 'evangelical' christian make known to you the true original and authentic 'interpretation' ?? Peace
-
yes, the coin had a picture of ceaser on it, the coins were produced and distributed by ceaser as currency in his empire. Now Jesus was making the point that it is ceasers system and not God's system.. remember the first commandment, you shall have no God's before me... it is God's law, not man made system's laws that are important.. Hope this makes sense? Peace

He mentions the 'tax collectors' many times and was against the Roman occupation of Israel. No doubt he was against the Jewish teachers as well. Peace
-
Ion, couldn't agree more about Christ and non-authoritarianism.. he was heavily against the 'tax collector' government.. in fact what we see now as government is nothing more than an extension of the roman empire he spoke out against. Peace

Sorry just realised i repeated some of what ion said.. hadn't read it when i posted.. oops.. I'll say that one can treat Christ as a guru.. in the sense of connecting with his energy when meditating etc and if you are truly sincere he will appear to you and help you.... Peace
-
I don't believe jesus was invented, but it's possible his teachings were modified to suit an agenda... but then we always have the option of just taking notice of what came from Christ's mouth in the gospels rather than the rest of it... Like Jetsun pointed out, he was part of the essene's, this was a sect within and without Judaism, they were not fully accepted by the rest as they considered all of the holy books to be valid and truth, including the indian, far east ones etc.. so that means Christ accepted hinduism and buddhism... plus probably daoism.. truth is truth no matter where it is found.. if someone has the means by which to discern truth from falsehood then they can see what's what from any text of any tradition.. Peace

Lam Kam Chuen is a solid teacher i keep hearing from my friends who have trained with him. He has high standards set for his disciples/authorised teachers. There are plenty of them in Uk and abroad/in Europe... all listed on his website. Peace

haha, Snowmonki thanks for clearing that up and sorry for my mistake I'm not familiar with the daoist terms, so please excuse me! All the best, Edward

His Student Alex Kozma -- (I don't know KingMonkey, but heard he is very good!!), i learn from him a bit, but i don't know anything.. i never got into the flow of training.. it was bagua/xingyi.. i didn't learn any nei dan or shen gong.. Alex is a buddhist and follows that path.. for martial arts, sure i'd recommend him, yeah.. in fact he is running a retreat in september for nei gong (martial) and mizong buddhist meditation: his video from a while back... http://urbandaouk.blogspot.co.uk/ Serge's blog has info.. his student who taught me for some time Alex Kozma knows a lot about him and i would guess has been in touch with his Daoist teachers... i know another of Serge's students who has good things to say about him.. Write to KingMonkey by pm on here and ask him, he is Serge's disciple now apparently.. Hope this helps? Peace

Serge Augier is in Paris, France is a recognised Doaist Spirit immortal by two clans i think... his student's Tao Bum name is King Monkey and teaches in London neijia as well as shen gong and nei dan. Peace

This is gonna probably make you laugh, but a pure devotee of Christ, not just one who has water poured over their head and goes to church a few times a week, will overcome rebirth and have an immortal spirit body retaining their essential I'ness before physical death. Peace

Hi, a friend of mine who is a retired professor of gnosticism and theology has joined under the name Nijjhar. He says he cannot post anywhere or use chat. Is there any way you can authorise him?... he is not a spammer.. he just wants to share his views on gnosticism and mainly gnostic christianity. I think it could produce good debates on the general discussion forum... Cheers, Edward

Thanks Viator, i'll let him know! Cheers, Edward

Thanks Apech, i told him this, i think he may not be able to post there.. or he has misunderstood me/i wasn't clear... guess i'm being cheeky by asking to bypass that rule Thanks, Edward
