  1. Cobra Breath, Kundalini practices!

Many Thanks Seth!!! great information/knowledge here!! peace Ed
  2. IMHO, one should follow a tradition, a well trodden path with many teachers around who have come a long way. Not just the one, who's words you must follow to get anywhere. Safer both for student and teacher. As far as specific methods, one size does not fit all! peace Ed
  3. The Lower Chakras

http://www.alchemyrealm.com/sexchakra.htm You might find the above link helpful. It makes a good point about the relationship between the sex chakra and the throat chakra. peace Ed
  4. Spiritual Power

Good question and thoughts to go with it mate!! I agree that it is the control over oneself that is the true spiritual power.....and using that power for what ever your personal beliefs say is the best way forward. Cheers Ed
  5. Super Moon March 19

  6. working with lao gong

Hello mate, one exercise i learned from a qigong teacher is to sit on a chair high enough for your legs to be at right angle feet on the floor. You put you palms on thigh so fingers are 2" away from edge of knee. You then start breathing as in meditation with eyes closed. On the outside of the palm, the side facing the ceiling/sky there is an outer lao gong point... each time you breathe out you move energy from outer lao gong to inner laogong point. The outer lao gong is directly opposite the inner one. Then when you have done that for ten mins, you put your attention fully on yao quan on bottom of foot. There is no outer yao quan, so just attention of bottom of foot. Do Not connect lao gong to yao quan point, it's tempting, but unless you have built up a lot of qi and opened up leg channels over some years, you can hurt yourself. Hope that helps! peace Ed
  7. JoeBlast, thanks for the thumbs up dude! it's a good thing to be able to do for sure.... was trying to say to non that he should just try to focus on the dan-tian in that way. Cannot focus on all three now myself, got a chronic upper dan-tian blockage. Going to see a shamanic practitioner to do some healing work. I'd like to be able to sort it out myself, but too many issues to deal with right now and it just gets worse... ps, we have spoken on ymaa forum before, i started a thread about schizophrenics doing qigong. Was a good few years ago now peace bro! Ed
  8. Leopoldson, I can't see anything wrong with wanting to find the truth for yourself.... after all, from a religious perspective God loves the seekers of truth. From a common sense perspective what can be more noble than searching for the truth. It is the path of honesty If you ever feel like you want to see if Christianity is valid for you, take buddha's advice and test it out. Meditate on the 10 commandments, what are the benefits from the perspective of your life experience etc.. same with the rest of the NT. If you want to gain a sense of God within, just be grateful for what is in front of you and respect that it can be taken from you in an instant, we are not 100% in control of our lives. Have that in mind when doing your sitting practice. anyway, dont want to start coming over as preachy, ooops! all the best Ed
  9. Hi Leopoldson, Well one is a practice, one is a belief system. But i had a belief before i started meditating that God was within. I meditated with this in mind and i guess developed my own beliefs from what i found within. I only became a baptised Christian 3 yrs ago. I meditated for around ten years, so practice came before hand. I don't see what in the new testement clashes with meditation or belief God is within. Jesus said in it, the kingdom of God is within and without...then you have the lords prayer which starts "our Father who art in heaven" and kingdom of God is heaven, so.... seems pretty clear to me. I could go on quoting but it comes down to interpretation. Who is to say the church is giving the right interpretation when the inner/esoteric was kept for the apostles and only parables for the public. I assume that rule is sill valid, so... we are not given the inner teaching. Sorry if i have not been very clear... Ed
  10. Hi Orb, Thanks for your kind words...is encouraging No i don't follow a certain school, i just learnt to meditate from books and a class or two. I just took it very seriously for a good few years which combined with having a lot of spare time then lead to some insights. Also used to practice zhan zhuang standing from master lam way of energy for a while with equal effort as the meditation...i think that is what lead to a lot of things. I'm actually a christian, but not a typical one Interesting what you say about having a teacher, i've wanted one, but only to learn methods, not to be told what to believe etc. Cheers Orb! Ed
  11. Orb, Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not but i found it by myself to be honest. Found it happened naturally while lower dan-tian breathing walking down the street, it suddenly became fixed and i was free to observe everything without the usual foggy mind. A similar thing happened during contemplative prayer, but in the heart centre. Hope this helps....if you were being sarcastic because i said something really obvious then no worries, i'm like all of us still learning peace Ed
  12. One thing to remember is that the three dan-tian are centers of awareness. There are actual energetic centers in these places that act as anchors for awareness. Seems simple but i find when meditation is practiced with this in mind it really comes alive. Hope this helps somewhat oh and no i can't elaborate you have to feel it..which you will if remain relaxed and mindful. Ed

  18. Dependent Origination

Marblehead, thanks! good talking with you my friend peace Ed
  19. Dependent Origination

Hi Marblehead, I agree with you, that is why i put the saying"Emptiness in form and form in emptiness". We cannot percieve God as we are part of God/ existence. To see we would have to see ourselves also. But when we see our true nature we see God then. The All may change yet it is ever there. Objective awareness/subjective awareness. peace Ed
  20. Dependent Origination

Wanted to ad something on the God idea. We as individual human beings are made up of lots of smaller beings which are collectively functional. We are not here forever physically. Each smaller being like a cell or strand of Dna is an being or entity in of itself. It they work together to form something else, a being entity. Likewise us human beings are part of the earth, we also part of the universe, and part of eternity. Each one of these are different levels of being. The biggest being is the whole of eternity. The universe both seen and unseen. Like i said before this is exactly what the name Yahweh means "What was, is and ever will be". There are no projections on that, maybe the seen and unseen obviously refers to our senses, but we have to communicate somehow as best we can without being able to communicate direct experience. A saying that explains what i'm saying is "Emptiness in form AND form in emptiness" just my 2 cents Ed
  21. Dependent Origination

Don't forget when Gautama Buddha talked of jealous God's, he was speaking from a hindu perspective, not from a monotheistic one. Yahweh when translated correctly means "All that was, is and ever will be". As far as i understand from reading a book by the Dalai Lama, the idea of no cause came from not just dependent origination, but also the belief that there are limitless universes out there, which was said by some buddhist scholar/monk not by the buddha himself. peace Ed
  22. Taoist Problem Solving Methods

Hey HumbleOne, For what it's worth my understanding of these things is it is about thinking of and concentrating on nothing else but the subject and then when that is exhausted just have faith and leave it to your unconcious mind to send the answer to your conscious awareness. It only works if you forget and don't try to force an answer/insight.... it has to be natural. You could pray or state your intention before hand to charge up the process if you want..but have faith, take it easy and remember if you are meant to have a breakthrough then you will, if not then don't worry it is not in your destiny, or your karma isn't ripe yet peace Ed
  23. Black magic

edit for safetys sake lol..... sorry all
  24. BOLD STATEMENTS

9th, interesting posts you have here. What would be your remedy for this problem...especially for a christian inclined person whop has a big problem with switching off daydreaming (default mode in brain)... I find the notion of a overflowing of the heart to be quite an astute one.... would this point to the passions of the heart remaining unleashed and not under our control? Thanks!! Ed
  25. Mao Shan Daoist Magic Masters in Taiwan

Body of Light, please be very carefull with that kind of practice. I had very bad experiences with lucid dreaming and malicious beings i came across. It can produce psychosis if you are not strong enough to handle and deal with negative forces in those realms....please be carefull!!! Do you know in a really honest way why you want to be able to do this? if not, please make sure you know the real reason. Peace Ed
