  6. Taoist Case Study Haunt Hotel rm204

This reminded me of a time I stayed at a hotel for a night, with not nearly as intense an experience, but I found it curious that it was also connected to the sensation of odor. Right when entered the room I noticed a penetrating smell of something similar to gasoline. Quite strong. My father who stayed with me in the room did not smell anything unusual so I thought I am probably imagining things. During the evening and night my mood was agitated and even aggressive for no reason and kept getting worse and this on my first day of vacation For me thats a tell-tale sign that something is off. So next morning we changed hotels and all was good.
  7. AA

We are all vampires every now and then so I would not get so hung up on this. Be fore you start blaming others, find out why you make such a good victim.
  8. Taoism Funeral

This sounds great, I wish every soul could have such guidance when moving to the other realm. Is there anything one can do to help the soul of a deceased to find their way when such comprehensive ritualistic guidance is not available?

  11. Truth or Gullible?

I doubt he calls himself the incarnation of Siddhartha Gautama. It's probably just being attributed to him by others. edit:spelling
  12. Talking To God

Not sure if i should comment since only skimmed the article, but by what parts i read and by reading the discussions I get the impression that it is just a story. Sort of an atheist view on god, if god existed in an atheist world view. A personal thought experiment by the author. Reminded me of Sci-Fi book concepts, I do not think it is a coincidence that he is referencing Asimov.
  13. What is the Most Common Problem...

Can you elaborate on that? You need to put effort into cultivation as to attain a frame of mind and spirit of effortless-ness?
  14. Gum disease

I remember reading somewhere that really only sesame or sunflower oil are effective.
  15. absolute direct work with fear

What if you are not afraid of skydiving?
  16. Apples are known to be able to balance out blood sugar levels so you might want to check out that angle. I agree with Procurator, restrict all simple carbs. Bananas are a simple carb, so are white flour, fried starches, obviously sugar etc. But really, go see a doc about it.
  17. Chineese herbs for anxiety

The most effectivy, instantly active, herb for anxiety i have ever taken is kava kava. As far as beeing safe and established, i should mention that it has been banned for sale in Europe for supposedly causing liver damage in some. Personally I think it's safe. Before it got banned it used to be prescribed by doctors for mild to medium anxiety and depression. As with many herbal products it is really important to only get top quality products. I have tried many and most had no or very little effect. If you get the good stuff you will find that it has a very calming yet clearing property. It does not make you numb, yet calms the mind chatter. Perfect for anxiety before exams. When i used to take it a few years ago i noticed however to not take it regularly for more than a week, but instead to take a break for at least a week. Unfortunatly i cannot recommend any specific brand, as i used to buy it at a German pharmacy and there are no kava kava products beeing sold in Germany anymore. I think however it helps if the product is not in dried form. Of all brands that i tried only one was actually effective and it was the only one that used the whole root, a moist paste in it's capsules.
  18. Technical question

FLAC won't run on most mp3 players, including Ipod unfortuntaly. If you have both Zune and Ipod I guess the easiest would be to just use WAV, because Zune cannot play Apple lossless for example. As for backup, I suggest to either burn the WAV directly as a data CD (not Audio CD) because that way you will actualy retain the original track information. The problem with burning Audio CDs is in the way Audio CD error correction works. If scratches are found, the missing information will be interpolated. On the other hand if your data CD becomes scratched, the computer drive will try to reconstruct the exact original data from error correction information also stored on the CD. edit: spelling
  19. starting to see standing for what it is

    Great idea, Pierto.
  20. Wang Liping in Denmark

I am assuming there are two Wang Lipings (as I am sure it's not an uncommon name) and things get confused. One is a chinese taoist master, the other one is a master in the plumbing business. Both will be holding lectures for a western audience at different locations and times and offer valuable knowledge in their respective fields, I suggest to attend both events to not miss out on anything.
