In my opinion the base emotion is love/peace/joy/vibrance. You, Unconditioned, are experiencing some OTHER emotion and then noticing that it isn't the ideal, and thus wish to not feel that. So what to do? There is no RIGHT thing to do. There is only the thing to do that is most effective. What is the most effective thing to do? My preference is to examine oneself, look within. If you know thyself you are a master of yourself. Look within, and ask yourself "why am I feeling this?" What you are doing is analyzing yourself to find the root of the emotional pain. This is not at all suppression. This is the opposite, untying the belief-knots inside yourself that are not effective. You wouldn't believe the liberation that comes from realizing there is no such thing as right/wrong, only what is effective. Just keep asking yourself "why am I feeling this?" over and over and over until you realize what a idiot you are. People are full of contradictions, like "I need her to do A and I'll be happy" and "She should NOT do A, it make me angry when she does A while eating meat" lol... Yes, if you ask yourself "why?" enough times you will find these parts of yourself. I call them idiot-loops. You could think of them as little loops of logic where they always add up to pain. Here's one of my Rules To Live By (#5) from my twitter: Add me on twitter: http://twitter.com/AlexBaranosky If you are sorta doing what I am suggesting already, then no I don't think you are suppressing anything. NOT resolving the pain would be suppression! The pain wants to be unraveled. It is like a pointer saying, "look over thre, you are thinking/believing ineffective stuff over there!"

You've got to do it! Just tell your editor (who obviously is a fake Taoist) that you were "keepin it real"

You could just write nothing?????

That's an awful lot of things to discuss regarding a thing that cannot be discussed (the TAO!)

I'm half way through the first video steam. RJ is saying a lot of smart stuff. I see I was doing a lot of this stuff naturally by being myself and feeling good. I'm interested to listen more to see how I can improve the quality of my relationship with my girlfriend. I'm sure it could help keep the excitement between us etc... It is about emotion over behavior. It isn't about what you DO, but about how you make her FEEL. "Successfully attracting/seducing women is about how you can capture and lead their imaginations and emotions" Damn well said. I never think about these things, but they're on the money. "It is never about where you take her or what you spend. Never never never!" RJ's approach is all about the mind level of a woman. From a LoA standpoint it is like you are guiding her mind into a preferred state, and from that state manifestation follows. Dude knows his shit. If you can take a woman's mind along with you, then everything else comes along with it. Imagine how much application this has in EVERY encounter, not just women but guys, coworkers, bosses, clients, anyone. It is really about understanding what makes people do what they do.

How Important is it for your PARTNER to have a spiritual path of some kind?
11:33 replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
Not saying this is true of you, just saying: Something very common I see from spiritual folks is they want their partner to be spiritual too. They often feel as if the partner is holding them back. But really it is an excuse to not master themselves. It is a need to change them because you think they are holding you back from achieving. Really though they are there as a kind of testing ground to master yourself. -
MPG, I don't have th video, and i fI did I wouldn't know how to play it frame-by-frame. What did you see?

Irony is the juicy goodness of life.

I have heard that studies have shown that acupuncture works, BUT that acupuncture done totally wrong also worked equally well. Interesting :|

I have a strong sixth sense. I can get very strong impressions where I know things, without any actual data, facts or figures. I've also telepathically communicated with a bird one time who was trapped in an awkward part of my house, to help it find its way out. Sounds kinda crazy, but I just saw an image of how it could escape and just sort of mentally offered the suggestion psychicly. And the bird who had been stuck for 5 minutes flew right out instantly upon me "sending" the message. Another time I had a vivid vision flash into my mind of exactly what was wrong with my father who was in the hospital, and also a flash of "knowing" that he'd be fine even though it seemed serious on the surface. But I don't see that as enlightenment, hehe. I don't share this stuff because I think I'm all that an a bag of chips. Actually more than likely most people will think I'm a deluded hippie, hehe. I share to show that these things aren't faerie tales. I am sure with further practice, and me not really caring one way or the other, the 6th sense will grow and I'll just "know" more things. Maybe one day I'll "just know" whatever enlightened people just know Peace. EDIT: I didn't used to be this way, so the energy practices must be at least partially why my intuition has become so strong. Actually these kinds of things happened much more after I had the energy gates of my spine / du meridian opened. Perhaps somehow that opens energy flows that enhance intuition...? EDIT2: Is it normal to feel sorta like your third eye area is like quicksand? That might be related to this whole enhanced intuition thing???????

Is the Tao a symbol of perfect balance and harmony?

The gods are hungry??? -
In my opinion all of those diseases are extreme states of un-health. Many traditional "alternative" practices aim to not have those extreme states of ill health occur in the first place. So, right off the bat the entire paradigm is different. It's silly to even assume that you can spend a lifetime screwing yourself up, and then voila! magic doctor man makes it all perfectly fine and healthy with his syringe of magic serum. That is just rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. Tis best to take care of yourself, and prolong the health you have.

This isn't true. Many herbs have been found effective. And I don't know the source of the studie but I've at least read abotu supposed studies on energy healing that did show effect. Maybe they were bogus studies. Who care, that was never my point! Taoists created TCM. TCM is basically Taoist medicine. From what I understand, at least. Superhuman powers? I thought we were talking about non-allopathic medicine? I've had my own fair share of mystical bullshit happen to me. No need to prove anyone. I had to figure out if I was delusional or not, and have concluded I'm not delusional. No way I can or feel any need to convince you of it though.
-
That you're on a Taoist forum and don't believe in anything Taoist? nac, Perhaps you have trouble reading?

Alternative medicine isn't a thing. It's a huge, general purpose, meaningless phrase. How many non-alternative medicine methods are all that effective for serious ailments?

And then the question is "WHY ISN'T THERE MUCH RESEARCH ON OXYGEN3 TREATMENT?" Because this world is full of people who care about money #1, and #2 their egos. It's a bit bitter but basically true. Things aren't researched "to find out what we need to know to make the world better". They could do research of that nature for very cheap if that was their aim. Instead they spend millions on very specific drugs, because then they can SELL them. They are so wrapped up in the business, they forget the whole point of making life better for everyone. I am NOT saying alternative therapies are best. What I am saying is that the motives behind everything is causing a lop-sided research balance, and well frankly it sickens my inner-morals. It's creating a world full of extremely expensive stuff that usually isn't even the best treatment. Follow the logic, and you see that must be the result. EDIT: As long as money is the primary intent of the world, the world will be screwed [i'd actually prefer a stronger word here, but it would be censored out]. The primary intent of the world needs to change to "what makes the most people have more happy, healthy, fulfilling lives", then we'll see something special. Unfortunately it isn't going to happen in my lifetime. Humans are too stupid to realize this. I'll just find somewhere cozy with my lady and relax in my own out of the way cove peacefully rocking away my life, and caring about other people, thinking of others as my brothers, doing what is best for others not what gives me money. Ahhhh...
-
I agree with Scotty.
-
It isn't the scientific method's fault. It is the human factor that messes things up. It's the agendas, the dramas, etc, the various bullshit that makes it so we aren't doing research to know what we can to make the world better. We're doing research to know what makes more money. And that is a huge rift, and you can see the result of that kind of thinking all around you everywhere you go everyday at least you can here in the US. Things are studied based on money that can be made. This is the #1 problem. It comes down to the motivating factor, because the motivating factor dictates the end result.

The problem is that life is infinite. It will never be fully known. And, since all things are inter-dependent that means we can never be sure we are fully correct because there are always infinite inter-dependent dependencies connected to everything. So denying the mystery is in effect denying reality. Denying reality never leads to good results.

Qigong exercises that include dynamic tension done WRONGLY can cause horrific problems. Tension done improperly can cause the energy channels to block. If you are also charging yourself with energy at the same time it compounds the problem by forcing energy to try to go through the blocked regions, but it can't... REALLY bad stuff can happen with tensing in qigong done wrongly (but unknowingly by the student). I really don't know the MoPai methods but if they involve tensing various parts of the body that would 100% explain why they say it can be deadly-dangerous, so anyone out there reading this please realize its no joke. EDIT: Just from my school of qigong Shaolin Cosmos Qigong, I've heard stories of people learning from the books, but purposely doing it totally wrong, namely by tensing their muscles while inhaling in Lifting the Sky, who had serious problems like spitting up blood. You have to do it wrong for a while to have these things happen, say over a month or two of daily wrong practice. And you'd have to ignore the warning signs, like not feeling well from your practice.

It sounds to me like Michael said some smart stuff to try to help you MPG.
-
Or he legitimately wants to see you live a long fruitful life with a functionaing heart, because he perceived you as someone who would run headlong into danger practicing methods you got second hand off someone, thinking you could never have something bad happen, but you don't fully understand the practice and he can see that from your posts. It's one or the other No shot at you MPG, just be careful All the Best
-
I don't think anything I learned in Spring Forest Qigong would cause those heart problems either. There must be more to MoPai than these methods.

So you got all this power and you could be helping people, and yet instead you don't use it? That doesn't seem right to me... I think the true test of power is if you use it for good, and know when not to use it. I'm a nitpicker though
