    Your goals will dictate what you study and practice. That's all you need to worry about.
  2. Extending Your Sitting Meditation Time

    I've found that I can sit longer than usual as long as I am sitting comfortably, and continously relax my muscles throughout the meditation. Physical discomfort is the largest factor, everything else eventually shifts into place. Also, It may help to start with a physical relaxtion practice, such as tightning and relaxing muscles, then move into letting your body relax itself for you. That is how I experience my best results. - Sometimes during breathing i'll notice a shifting of awareness that moves with the breath. If you come to a similar point, as you breath, affirm the word "Relax" and "Smile"

    Grab any Yoga Nidra cd and give it a try. It's worked for me in the past. Also, you may want to eat two kiwi fruits an hour or two before bed and see if that helps as well - Good luck
  7. Channelling your destructive side...

    The shadow is much more than your need to break things. It's your fears - also. Fear of becoming fat and lazy, unemployment, being alone, becoming a creep - any negative motivating emotion that changes your behavior. Acceot that you have these emotions - and channel your energy into postive actions. It helps to realize that there are positive motivators such as being hella happy - for doing things, instead of being afraid of what will happen to you if you don't do something. Smile and relax and go to the gym. Laugh at work. Enjoy your college studies. Date for the love of meeting someone new and exciting, not for the fear of being alone. Some of my friends deal with the "destructive" parts of their personality through physical work and rock music.

    We will probably have to agree to disagree, thats okay. My end goal involves kundalini, and self knowlege and healing skill. The chakras have worked at least as visualizations that have morphed into real feeling and alchemy - this approach works for me, and has lead to divine experiences as well as spirit friends. Good luck on your path.

    I was hoping anything you guys pointed out I could take care of meself. (DOn't strengthen my weakness by any means!) :-P I've been having difficulty maintaining a positive outlook, and feeling confident and purposeful in life. I've felt quite the opposite - angry, sad, frustrated and dependant on others.

  16. I don't know about the taoiseasy, but my buddy Matt taught himself while sitting alone in a room, bringing his body in and out of focus (starting with the fingers and hand) I can see alittle too that way, but am no means proficient. - You could probably learn that way, too.

    Shouldn't the disclaimer be that the above advice pertains more to a persons method of cultivation and/or goals? Psychological traits arise from the chakra points, and working with those states, and eventually with the energy centers themselves is worth develing into - at least if your goal is to work up from the chakras and learn more about oneself. Have you ever had a chakra balancing? Now that is an amazing sense of peace.
  18. I used to think this way also. The more real spontaneity you add into your life, and passion - the less things will feel that way. Wouldn't you think, that in a work enviroment you couldn't jump up on a desk and kick a computer? You could, free will exists, just act on it. Although you don't have to get yourself in trouble to feel it.

    Just an offhand- If someone experiences a persitant overpowering spiritual event - that he or she cannot prove to most others, does that make it a fact or a belief? I think it may be the base for many peeps who go nuts when they start to develop real energy.

I'll bet you i'm not the only one and we don't have hospitals full of loons that have screwed themselves over with this sort of thing. I find my mind to be more relaxed after a good orgasm, it makes it easier to practice, even.

    Well, I still need to expound. You can increase your jing with leg and back heavy workouts(Try looking into Foundations Authored by Peter Park) Also, shaking practices - simply putting on some music and shaking your body while paying attention to the bone structure (with slow aware breathing) also increase your Jing AND chi production....As well as shaking things up "in a good way" Moving the body so chi finds its way into the bones is a great way to increase bodily health and Jing production. You can also massage the legs and feet to help release more of hormones that would be needed on the more physical side. You'll find something that works well for this.
