  4. Request for moving posts to split thread.

Response below: ___________________________ Response below: ___________________________ Recently the thread http://thetaobums.com/topic/32412-can-the-practice-of-stillness-movement-add-to-your-martial-arts-ability/ Had discussions of yin energy/chi split to another thread as such discussion was deemed off topic. Here: http://thetaobums.com/topic/32679-yin-chi-number-3/ I would like to request the following posts also be moved to the new split thread whenever possible, as discussion of yin chi was deemed off topic for that thread. Thank you much. Links in spoiler:

  8. Any javascript masters here?

So I've been thinking, there must be a way to use grease monkey (firefox extension), and some script to allow you to hide topics on the forum from view so you don't see them. Something similar to this but for this forum: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/35704 Any coders out there game to take a stab at making such an extension, this busy season I'll have the money to fund it if need be.

  11. Is this the guy you are talking about psy balls?
  12. Yes it is childish to want to be a DBZ warrior, it is also childish to want to be an astronaut, rockstar, president, etc. Lot's of people pretend you can remove Siddhis from the spiritual equation and still retain spiritual development. It doesn't work like that however. Siddhis are mile markers for your spiritual evolution. It's like saying you want fire, but not the heat and light. Most teachers like this guy will accomplish nothing before their death, other than making youtube videos about sour grapes and siddhis. For those among us that want something real, and not more philosophy to change how we feel about ourselves and environment, religious dogma, or practices that lead nowhere, Siddhis are part of the equation that cannot be removed. Siddhi's are not the end goal, however they are part and parcel with the process of spiritual development. Imagine how absurd it is to wish for a cold, dark fire because wishing for heat and light is childish. Sour grapes.
  13. Chakra meditation and mo pai

I wouldn't, I'd focus on going as far as I could with training, then search for serious students to continue the lineage were I able to complete the training.

  15. Author Of The PATRIOT Act Goes To EU Parliament To Admit Congress Failed, And The NSA Is Out Of Control http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20131112/08342525213/author-patriot-act-goes-to-eu-parliament-to-admit-congress-failed-nsa-is-out-control.shtml It's already strange enough that the author of the PATRIOT Act, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, has come out strongly against the NSA's mass spying, said that James Clapper should be fired and prosecuted, and introduced sweeping new legislation that would significantly curtail the NSA's activities. If you've followed civil liberties issues over the past dozen years or so, Sensenbrenner used to be very much in the camp of folks like Rep. Mike Rogers and Senator Dianne Feinstein -- seen as carrying water for the intelligence community (and industry). The change of heart (even if he claims the original PATRIOT Act was never meant to allow this stuff) is quite impressive. Even so, it's perhaps even more incredible to see that Sensenbrenner has now gone over to the EU Parliament to admit that the NSA is out of control and needs to be reined in.

    Where did you read that?
  18. Yin? (yang?)

I have a really great comeback for that one, but it would probably get me in trouble.
  19. Yin? (yang?)

I'm in an odd position Brian. I have a great deal of personal experience, I've conducted numerous experiments over and over and over. However I can't talk about this in public and keep any shred of credibility. So for that reason I am limited to quoting books, because at least the authors of those books being students of Chang do have some credibility. What comes across as fundamentalism is my own direct observation of what actually is.
  20. Yin? (yang?)

Direct observation isn't religious zealotry. I am talking about the nature of a real energy, just as real as sunlight. If you were arguing with a blind man who said sunlight came from the ground, and you could bathe in sunlight in a dark cave you'd be similarly frustrated I'd imagine.
  21. The system works with what it defines as yin energy. They believe this energy can be felt, and can be absorbed while not in meditation, ungrounded. The energy mo pai defines as yin energy does not match these criteria, and it would be literally impossible for them to be speaking of the same thing. They may have good intentions but don't be misled, they do not work with what mo pai calls yin energy.
  22. Yin? (yang?)

You mean have I experienced other system's YANG energy. Worldwide there are only a small handful of true neigong schools like Mo Pai that work with yin energy surviving, EVERYTHING else is a yang only system. End of discussion. If you mean can I define in via a physics text book, no because it hasn't been integrated into our scientific paradigm yet. Not what I believe. This is how reality is. Other systems don't work with yin, they are yang only. Worldwide there are a small handful of schools which work with yin remaining. Yin as defined by other systems is either active imagination, or a quality of yang chi they are working with. That's how it is.
