Why create a forum for mo pai discussion to talk about some other system?

My main goal is stopping the cycle of rebirth by fusion of the yin and yang spirits as one before death. Making stuff up and calling it mo pai, doesn't make it mo pai, it just makes it made up stuff you think is mo pai.

[sarcasm] yup you can be a level 65 with no abilities [/sarcasm]
-
[sarcasm] EXACTLY! When I got to level 65 and everyone made fun of me for not having any abilities. Just because you are a high level doesn't mean you can use it for martial purposes or do things like a level ~30 like John Chang even if you are higher level than John Chang. [/sarcasm]

Has anyone on TTB went to one of Wang Lipings seminars?
Thunder_Gooch replied to Formless Tao's topic in Daoist Discussion
I went to the first one they hosted in the USA in Atlanta GA. They also have a text with their practices in it available on amazon. Wenhong Sun and Kathy Li are some of the nicest people I've met, they even drove us around Atlanta for free lol. I would highly recommend them as teachers. http://www.amazon.com/Ling-Bao-Tong-Neng-Gong/dp/1470174545/ If you can't afford a retreat in the usa, the book is available and I can go over my notes with you if you are confused. -
Some of us have gone above and beyond, doing our best to share everything we possibly can, over and over only to fall on deaf ears. The sad thing is no one cares, maybe 2 or 3 people in the west really give ****, and that's it, for everyone else this is more about role play and make believe.

-
So you are claiming 2b+ are levels that you got from an actual Indonesian student? Where did you get your information if you didn't invent it yourself?
-
Yup, real made up levels.
-
He's got lots of practices he made up that he thinks might be the real thing, those methods are available on his forum.

A buddy of mine sent me sent me some really high quality korean ginseng roots, and it had me crawling the walls with energy the other day. I can order from him but the price is out of site, more than I am willing to pay. Is there a reputable supplier of panax ginseng roots you recommend?
-
I've found a few sources for the roots but I am unsure of what conditions they were actually grown in, if they are contaminated with heavy metals and toxins etc. looks to be about $200.00 per pound which is way more than I want to pay.

no one really has supernatural powers...
Thunder_Gooch replied to 3bob's topic in General Discussion
No not understanding something doesn't make it supernatural either. We didn't understand radiowaves till just a few hundred years ago, though talking for hundreds of miles with invisible waves would have been regarded as supernatural to people who didn't understand it. I don't think you'll meet any person who would think it rational to say radiowaves are supernatural phenomenon. The only thing that would make something supernatural would be for it to be above or beyond the laws of physics and the natural universe, once we observe a phenomenon and develop explanations for it, it isn't something we would call supernatural. How is remote viewing possible? How is quantum entanglement possible? Einstein called this spooky action at a distance. How can two separate particles be entangled (meaning if you do one thing to one member of the entangled pair, the other does the opposite thing) over vast distances instantly with absolutely no delay whatsoever. Either faster than light communication between them is taking place, or they are the same particle existing in two different points in space simultaneously. Not understanding how quantum entanglement works doesn't make it supernatural. If we discover there are infinite parallel worlds just as real as ours, as mind blowing as that would be it wouldn't be supernatural either. -

I am not saying there aren't people with amazing abilities, I am saying these amazing abilities aren't supernatural. Super means above and beyond, we only have things we don't understand. I would sound stupid, if I said airplanes are supernatural, or radiowaves are supernatural, or whatever. But to a man of science of the 1400's all these things would look like magic, and he would claim them to be supernatural. -

If a man can levitate and demonstrate psychokinesis and it isn't a hoax or a magic trick and it's proven via many studies, would your first conclusion be; oh my, this person person has abilities that break the laws of physics and the natural universe? Or would you be a bit more reasonable, and say; hey, there has to be a logical and rational and scientific explanation for these abilities, and if we study and research the phenomenon enough we just might figure out exactly what is going on and build a new scientific paradigm in the process. -

Super (above and beyond) natural. There is no such thing. There are only natural abilities. Things we don't understand scientifically we falsely label supernatural. Radiowaves would have at one time been considered supernatural, but they never have been supernatural. Science not understanding a phenomenon doesn't make it above or beyond nature itself. -

No one has supernatural powers because there is nothing supernatural in this universe. They either have natural abilities, or they don't.
