  1. What if it was simple

ehhh....... I am not sure reality works like that. It's pretty simple but your beliefs and intentions only do so much, you need the right method to actually accomplish anything...
  2. What if it was simple

It is simple, very simple, just hidden and kept secret. "My masters told me the most powerful is usually the simplest. Many Qigong exercises are too complicated and cloaked with mystery. Qigong, in its fundamental form, is very simple." -Chunyi Lin (spring forest qigong)
  3. Difference between Qigong and Neigong?

If it doesn't involve profoundly deep states of seated meditation to gather chi/qi I personally don't consider it to be neigong, but rather a more tai chi like practice.
  4. Longmen Pai teaches how to exchange energy with certain types of trees, I found these studies interesting. http://hardware.slashdot.org/story/12/03/22/2220208/scientists-discover-link-between-trees-and-electricity?utm_source=rss1.0mainlinkanon&utm_medium=feed http://www.treehugger.com/renewable-energy/the-new-apower-plantsa-trees-make-electricity.html
  5. Generation X

GenXer here. I'd say your criticism is valid. I have no desire to save the world and I am intensely focused on goals that are purely self beneficial. I view the world as a lost cause, and I am not here to try and straighten it out. I have my own goals I am trying to focus on to the exclusion of all else. That isn't to say that I don't care about humanity, but that I feel helpless to make any meaningful contribution.
  6. Difference between Qigong and Neigong?

Longmen Pai would be my vote at the moment, I am eagerly looking forward to the neigong teachings of the Zheng Yi sect by Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson. http://www.laoziacademy.us/ (longmen pai website) http://www.amazon.com/Ling-Bao-Tong-Neng-Gong/dp/1470174545/ ($28.00 introductory longmen pai text) http://www.daoistmagic.com/catalog.php?act=view_prod_info&id_prod=35915&i=&l=&sid=3bc5a026e3e74cd36b29e0a3d72e3636 (soon to be released text on the neigong teachings of the Zheng Yi sect.

http://www.bristol.ac.uk/news/2013/9163.html Floral signs go electric Press release issued 21 February 2013 Bees and flowers communicate using electrical fields, researchers discover Flowers' methods of communicating are at least as sophisticated as any devised by an advertising agency, according to a new study, published today in Science Express by researchers from the University of Bristol. However, for any advert to be successful, it has to reach, and be perceived by, its target audience. The research shows for the first time that pollinators such as bumblebees are able to find and distinguish electric signals given out by flowers. Flowers often produce bright colours, patterns and enticing fragrances to attract their pollinators. Researchers at Bristol's School of Biological Sciences, led by Professor Daniel Robert, found that flowers also have their equivalent of a neon sign – patterns of electrical signals that can communicate information to the insect pollinator. These electrical signals can work in concert with the flower’s other attractive signals and enhance floral advertising power. Plants are usually charged negatively and emit weak electric fields. On their side, bees acquire a positive charge as they fly through the air. No spark is produced as a charged bee approaches a charged flower, but a small electric force builds up that can potentially convey information. By placing electrodes in the stems of petunias, the researchers showed that when a bee lands, the flower’s potential changes and remains so for several minutes. Could this be a way by which flowers tell bees another bee has recently been visiting? To their surprise, the researchers discovered that bumblebees can detect and distinguish between different floral electric fields. Also, the researchers found that when bees were given a learning test, they were faster at learning the difference between two colours when electric signals were also available. How then do bees detect electric fields? This is not yet known, although the researchers speculate that hairy bumblebees bristle up under the electrostatic force, just like one’s hair in front of an old television screen. The discovery of such electric detection has opened up a whole new understanding of insect perception and flower communication. Dr Heather Whitney, a co-author of the study said: "This novel communication channel reveals how flowers can potentially inform their pollinators about the honest status of their precious nectar and pollen reserves." Professor Robert said: “The last thing a flower wants is to attract a bee and then fail to provide nectar: a lesson in honest advertising since bees are good learners and would soon lose interest in such an unrewarding flower. "The co-evolution between flowers and bees has a long and beneficial history, so perhaps it's not entirely surprising that we are still discovering today how remarkably sophisticated their communication is." The research was supported by the Leverhulme Trust. 12. Difference between Qigong and Neigong?

Neigong is more focused on deep states of meditation, absorbing and storing energy from the environment into the body while in these deep states. Qigong is more active focused on tai chi like movements. Neigong stores energy, qigong circulates it.
  13. Yup, still haven't come back to reality from it, been since 2005. A trip worse than any LSD/DMT trip I've ever heard of.
  14. Any chance stage magic can include real magic?

Stage magic is more real than "real magick" lol. At least it does something, even if it is only an illusion.
  15. If you haven't seen the new demo he did it might be worth checking into. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTvyP_KWv50 Also: Also tummo as I have had it explained to me is nearly identical in many respects to the first level of his school. There is an absolutely overwhelming amount of evidence for tummo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3m3d_F6Fv6g In 2010 tummo master wim hof was packed in ice for 1 hour 20 minutes under medical observation his core body temperature remained constant.

  17. I can't stand newage anything, people or practices. It's all wishy washy peaced out spiritual babble and gobbledygook. It doesn't actually do anything, it doesn't get results, it serves no purpose. I hate talking with someone and trying to explain my beliefs. It's a very tricky situation to explain it in such a way that I do not I come off sounding like a newage whackjob. It's hard to get people to realize you are serious and interested in real practices that get real results, not shoving crystals up your butt on a full moon to harvest the Goddess moon essence. These newagers destroy the credibility of the entire spiritual community, no one can take it seriously because of things and people like this:

  19. Trolling and Off-topic disruptions

Aaron, It comes with the territory. If you haven't noticed the entire internet is like this, everywhere. You cannot express an opinion anywhere without having to debate an entire community of 12 year old adhd trolls, it just isn't possible. The best advice I can offer you is keep your mouth shut unless you are willing to provide absolute evidence you are right, and willing to defend it till the trolls get bored with their trolling.
  20. Trolling and Off-topic disruptions

I don't think trolling should be censored because one man's troll is another mans legitimate counter argument, however if things go off topic the topic should be split into it's own thread, and if it isn't related to spiritual matters it should be moved to the off topic section.
  21. Trolling and Off-topic disruptions

Real easy solution, split the thread so offtopic discussion can continue.
