I dunno but my perinium pushes 1 Gb/s.

You don't have to be on the high ground or be in a natural environment, you only need to be grounded during medtiation. I am sure you would probably see optimal progress in the wilderness on a mountain though, but it isn't an absolute requirement, only that you are grounded to the earth.

Sounds rediculous I know Joe, but yin chi does flow through metal, so does yang chi, this is the only other alternative to actually sitting on the ground itself.
-
Do you have any alternative strategies for gathering yin chi, if not via grounded medtiation?
-
Mine came from 14 guage romex wire from homedepot, just the standard stuff they do interior wiring with. I have about 15 feet of it going outside to a metal stake deep in the ground. The inside end of the wire is looped over about 3 feet so that there is no pointy end to sit on. I am unsure if it needs to be bigger than 14 guage wire, but seeing as that wire can carry enough current for interior wiring I think it will suffice. To be honest you could probably get by with cat 5e wire if you wanted something more discrete, if all wires were used together, there are many twisted pairs of small wires in cat 5e.

There is no reason you can't meditate on the top floor. But yes you will have to be grounded during meditation, to develop correctly. Both Yin and Yang Chi flow easily through metal, so a grounding wire (a wire that is grounded to the earth) connected to the perinium point during meditation is all that is required. Be careful who's advice you buy on here, most people don't know their *** from a hole in the ground.

I am just curious if there are others that would be willing to split the cost of the complete archive. It's $275 for the complete audio archive and $55 for the dvd series, and a new dvd is about to be released so it will probably be $50 or so. If we could get enough people together the cost wouldn't be so high.
-
Well I would do that, except no one has bought the archive and put it up as a torrent. There is the "out of your mind" collection, and then there is another collection which is 4GB but mostly filled with random misnamed stuff.

On http://alanwatts.com/collections/ There are three sections: 1. Essential Lectures 2. Eastern Wisdom Series 3. Extended Seminars Each one of these is composed of 5 sections each. I already have the radio lectures, and his talks on Mahayana Buddhism, and Taoism. If you or anyone else would like to to buy anything, I'll be happy to mail you out my original discs as long as you trade with someone else too I think it would probably be best if we each purchase a section and trade with each other as this way no one is responsible for anyone elses money.

Nei gong induced psychosis! Please help.

Can you describe your practice? What exactly were you doing? Third eye breathing? MCO? In any case stop all training immediately, eat a large meal with lots of protein (eggs and dairy if vegetarian) protein is very grounding. Turn the water in your shower on to luke warm so that it is not cold to you, meditate and relax feel this energy trapped in your head draining away with the water. Stop smoking anything or drinking alcohol if you do, do not cope with this using prescription drugs either unless a doctor gives you a prescription for them. If you live close the ocean, the ocean is a great grounding medium. -
Looking to do a group buy of the complete Alan Watts archive
Thunder_Gooch posted a topic in Buddhist Discussion
I am looking to assemble a group who would be interested in doing a group buy of the Alan Watts archive. www.alanwatts.com and .org I think the audio archive is about $300 and the video series is about $60. Hoping maybe we could get enough people together to each buy one section and swap around. Please PM me if interested. -
Some lectures are on youtube yes, but not all of them. There have been several I could not find. The archive is huge.

Si vis pacem, para bellum "If you wish for peace, prepare for war" If you are getting picked on it's because you "appear" weak to them. They target the weak. The trick is to not appear weak. There is no "have your cake and eat it too" situation here, you are going to have to put a lot of work into it, or continue getting picked on. Pick one and stick with it. You can't just fight back as a weakling and expect anything to change either, because even if you fight back and you still appear weak they'll keep picking on you or someone else will. 1. 2. P.S. Don't misinterpret what I've said as telling you to take a weapon to defend yourself to school, that's just stupid and will get you in a ton of trouble and they will still be laughing at you even when your gone. I am telling you to change your attitude about life, your diet, to exercise, to train for self defense, to not be afraid, to act deliberately and with intelligence, to be aware of your environment, to focus more on being present in your life. I am also not telling you to fight when you become strong, what I am telling you is when you become strong, you won't have to.

Ritualistic Magic? Whats the point?

To the best of my knowledge Gurdjieff never accomplished anything other than being good at lecturing on metaphysics. That's really not my thing, I want results not speculation. What you don't seem to comprehend, is I don't care how erudite, or esoteric a teaching or teacher may or may not be. If it doesn't get results, it doesn't get results. I am not here to evaluate every potential metaphysical teaching by every single metaphysical teacher on planet earth that lived anywhere ever. I am here to look for teachings that get results, and burn the rest as garbage. Quite simply I just don't care about examining and studying every possible crazy *** belief that exists to try and determine if there is some validity to it. In my practice I insert said teaching and teacher into the toilet, and flush, rinse later and repeat. I am not going to sit down and read a one thousand two hundred page book by some newage nutjob author that hasn't proven his worth. I can and do sit down and read books by authors if I think I might find something true and useful from doing so however. Money talks and BS walks. I am not interested in any more books by this author. I would be willing to listen to your extremely short cliffnotes version on his "system" and "method" of developing the "Kesdjan" as Gurdjieff calls it. If your not willing or able that's fine as well. Just call me a closed minded "three brained" "hanbledzoin" leaking "aiëssakhladonn" silly me... -
Ritualistic Magic? Whats the point?
Thunder_Gooch replied to RiverSnake's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
For sure not my cup of tea, I spent the better part of early AM searching his books for anything worth mentioning. If you somehow found a system in all that newage gobbledygook, I'd love to hear your insights for training in it. I won't be buying any more books though, one is enough. -

I am not disputing the goals of western magick, I am disputing their success rate or rather lack thereof. -

If you don't mind could please provide me with some page numbers I just bought the kindle version, and would like to read over this system. I've done keyword searches for "astral" "astral body" "reborn" "rebirth" "reincarnation" "death" and more and not finding anything of note. I suspect though there really is no system here, just more philosophy and metaphysical speculation as are 99.9999999% of all the books I've ever bought. -

So of all you've read from Gurdjieff, which of his teachings strikes you as most profound? -
Ritualistic Magic? Whats the point?
Thunder_Gooch replied to RiverSnake's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Sure if you want to continue playing that's fine, but I don't. In this universe there are infinite experiences to be had, ranging from the most deep and profound, to the most banal. From horrors, pain and terror beyond human comprehension, to the most pleasurable states of bliss imaginable. I'm done with it all, I want this lifetime to be my last. -
Ritualistic Magic? Whats the point?
Thunder_Gooch replied to RiverSnake's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
I believe I have. Yes. Even if what I experienced was delusion, (which I don't think it was) there are certain cases for what can happen after death. You die and that's it for the rest of eternity, eternal nonexistence forever. You die and are eventually reborn. You die and continue to exist and are not reborn. I am sure there are a lot of subcategories underneath each of those as well. Of all those scenarios the only one that really irks me is cyclic existence, starting out as a new organism somewhere in the universe, over and over and over and over again. -

Actions speak louder than words, and systems that get results and have an underlying metaphysical science and theory behind them are infinitely more profound than anything any armchair philosopher can provide. The main point is however, no matter how "deep" (and I use the word loosely) a philosophy, what good is it to you if in the end you still die and are reborn. It's like we are all airborne off a cliff, and waiting for the bus to impact the ground, and we are trying to figure out who has the deepest philosophy rather than how to survive the crash. I love philosophy, but in the end what does it do to help improve my situation? I haven't found anything in my studies of Gurdjieff, that I would consider profound. Alan Watts is much more my style. Perhaps you could illuminate us with some of your favorite teachings of Gurdjieff? P.S. I don't give a damn about developing Siddhis, the only purpose they serve is mile-markers on your path. The end goal is ending rebirth as an immortal spirit which does not reincarnate. I do agree that most who pursue it want to become Goku, and that is their primary motivation.
