Geoball, The best evidence is the evidence you experience for yourself in meditation. I was a hard core atheist until 2005, when I experienced events that affected friends and family as well as myself as a result of a form of meditation I was practicing. I would like to share with you some videos and information: Tummo (inner fire) meditation Master Wim Hof demonstrating control over his immune system via meditation: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/04/110422090203.htm

I wanted to post this here, I have been given a warning from a higher up, and I am not sure if I am at liberty to divulge the teachers identity so I won't. In the near future Yellowstone may become an active volcano so any bums planning on visiting should stay away. I am unsure of the time period it could be 1 year or 10 I do not know. http://www.newser.com/story/151510/italian-super-volcano-may-threaten-millions.html It looks like there may be more volcanic activity across the globe.

Meditation leading to increased blood pressure
Thunder_Gooch replied to OnARoad's topic in Daoist Discussion
I have some experience on this blood pressure effect. If I do not attain an extremely deep state of trance first, where I am deeply relaxed and nearly comatose, and I try to work with energy, my heart rate and blood pressure increase dramatically. I only work with energy after deep trance is attained, doing so before isn't possible for me. -

It may also apply to other sleeping volcano's around the world. -
I haven't genuinely smiled in a long time, thanks thelerner.

Christ was born around 4 B.C., Mozi lived approximately 400 years earlier. One thing I find fascinating is how similar the philosophy of Mozi and Christ are. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozi Mozi taught the concept of universal love for all. It brings up some interesting theories in my mind.

The philosophy of Mozi, and Christ.
Thunder_Gooch replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
That may well be true. I am just looking at some very odd coincidences, maybe I am connecting dots that lead to false conclusions. But I see some remarkable similarities: Mo tzu, essentially embraced and taught Christ's philosophy of universal love and compassion for all. He believed the will of heaven was that man should love all others as he loves himself. He believed in punishment for harming others, and reward for helping them. He was reportedly very dark skinned for a Chinese man, and he was a master carpenter. Supposedly the mo pai school, traces it's lineage back to mo tzu himself. Mo Tzu lived 400 years before Christ, and supposedly it took a few generations after his death for masters of the school to learn how to fuse yin and yang spirits as one, which also sounds eerily similar to the gospel of Thomas. The end goal of mo pai is to quite literally to become a living spirit that exists as does a flesh and blood body. The more advanced the student the more "miracles" he or she could perform. I wonder... -
do all taoists believe in immortality and ...
Thunder_Gooch replied to mile83's topic in Daoist Discussion
I view us all essentially as immortal whether we do anything about it or not. However memories are lost from life to life, ego, personality, etc.. Immortality for me is about stopping the reincarnation process, retaining ego, personality, memory, etc. -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozi Mozi was a carpenter and was extremely skilled in creating devices, designing everything from mechanical birds to wheeled, mobile "cloud ladders" used to besiege city walls. His passion was said to be for the good of the people, without concern for personal gain or even his own life or death. His tireless contribution to society was praised by many, including Confucius' disciple Mencius. Mencius wrote in Jinxin (Chinese: 孟子盡心; pinyin: Mengzi Jinxin) that Mozi believed in love for all mankind. As long as something benefits mankind, Mozi will pursue it even if it means hurting his head or his feet. the concept of "impartial caring" or "universal love" (兼愛, jiān ài). In this, he argued directly against Confucians who had argued that it was natural and correct for people to care about different people in different degrees. Mozi, in contrast, argued that people in principle should care for all people equally Furthermore, for Mozi the will of Heaven (天, tiān) was that people should love one another, and that mutual love by all would bring benefit to all. Therefore, it was in everyone's interest that they love others "as they love themselves." Heaven should be respected because failing to do so would subject one to punishment. -
Extending Your Sitting Meditation Time
Thunder_Gooch replied to RiverSnake's topic in General Discussion
I've got a small hole punched out, the wire goes outside to a stake deep in the earth. Yin chi flows through metal as does yang chi, and your body can only hold as much yang chi as you have yin chi and vice versa. So if you are trying to accumulate chi, it will be impossible to progress if you are not grounded in meditation. -
Extending Your Sitting Meditation Time
Thunder_Gooch replied to RiverSnake's topic in General Discussion
I cheat I use headphones and a meditation track, as well as a comfortable massage chair which isn't comfortable enough to let me fall asleep. I also have a grounding wire connected to a stake outside which I sit on to make sure my perineum point is grounded during meditation. I am able to enter extremely deep levels of trance without my legs or back becoming sore as a result. It seems to work well for me. I can meditate overnight on my days off from work if I wish to, it also seems to replace the need for some sleep. -
The philosophy of Mozi, and Christ.
Thunder_Gooch replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
The yin spirit/mind is the unconsciousness, and the yang spirit/mind is the consciousness. I don't know if it correlates to left/right brain but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. -

Pa Lei Chuan is the kung fu system associated with mo pai, I am unsure if this will help. It looks like that link to mo duck pai was founded in 1983 by someone, I doubt it's an authentic lineage of any sort.

The philosophy of Mozi, and Christ.
Thunder_Gooch replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
That was quoted from the Gospel of Thomas, it sounds an awful lot like the the fusion of the yin and yang spirits which is the whole point in schools like mo pai. Maybe there is no connection here, but I think it's interesting. -

Imagine an army of level 72 mo pai masters, all brainwashed firm birth to be absolutely obedient and follow orders no matter what. If the government got their hands on the secrets of the practice, we'd see the birth of the ultimate weapon, worse than any nuclear bomb ever built.

I can't speak for all people, but I know what the purpose of life is for me. To grow, to evolve, to expand to transcend.

MCZ, No offense to you, but we do have a scammer who claimed the same thing and defrauded the community for thousands of dollars. He created hundreds of low post accounts to pose as alter egos to give himself creditability. His MO is selling ebooks to people, the same as this Shifu Lin person. This is a known scam, and I highly suspect anyone claiming to have seen this book to be just another puppet account. I've dealt with the scammer first hand and know him to be an expert con man, a master of his art.

The Taosit practices that are avalible?
Thunder_Gooch replied to AstralProjectee's topic in General Discussion
I am sure all the higher teachings are in plain sight, it's just the signal to noise ratio sucks. Out of every million books on the subject, one might have some grain of truth to it. You'll have to wade through oceans of disinformation to find something of value, and when you find it, how exactly will you know it's legitimacy? It's beyond frustrating. -
I don't care what you call it. You shouldn't give your money to a guy who no one has ever met (except maybe the guy who promotes him). What's to say this Shifu Lin fellow wasn't a student of other students and gained his information from them, only to turn around and sell the practice under some new name? Wouldn't it make more sense to actually talk to verified students like Jim/Andreas/Kosta etc, than to give your money to some unknown individual? Also we have a known scammer who changes identities like underwear, his MO is selling ebooks, he claims to have a copy of the mo pai manual and scams people left and right, and has milked this community and others for thousands of dollars. If you'll look on amazon, you'll see all the good reviews come from accounts with unverified names, and they only review his items.... hmmm.. weird coincidence don't you think? I think a wiser choice would be to speak with verified students first, then go meet this Lin fellow in person when you are more developed and test him out in person. My friend you should be very weary of the spiritual community, almost everything in it is a fraud or a false teaching from people who only want to make a buck. There are so many false teachings, and so many fraudulent teachers, it's amazing anyone can ever find anything legitimate to practice. Caveat emptor

The Taosit practices that are avalible?
Thunder_Gooch replied to AstralProjectee's topic in General Discussion
AstralProjectee, 99.9999999999% of all information available on taoist practices is disinformation. That is assuming your goal is to become a taoist immortal. If you are just looking for practices for health there are some legitimate teachings available, but really basic meditation, and physical exercise and a good diet will deliver most of the same benefit. -
So you met a guy who claims to be a student which no one has ever verified as true, this person claims to have the mo pai manual, and sells it at $300 per level. He also sells ebooks on amazon, with all positive reviews from fake accounts. We have a known scammer with the exact SAME MO, doing the exact same thing selling ebooks, and claiming to have the mo pai manual. It would make a lot more sense to me to seek out established students like Jim, Andreas, and Kostas, before giving your money to some unknown individual who sells ebooks on amazon which no one has ever met in real life, and no one can verify if he is actually a student or not. Caveat emptor. Best of luck with your endeavors, I think you'll wind up with the most appropriate teacher your Karma will allow for.
