  1. Consciousness is Not Eternal

Even under anesthesia the yin mind/spirit continues to observe, it just observes the void. The yin mind/spirit is eternal, it is our subconscious mind, it retains memory, it observes reality, it is passive, female, made of energy like gravity or magnetic in nature, it does not move of it's own accord, but rather passively pulls things to it, the yin mind/spirit cannot understand or know emotion, or make choices, it's purpose is observation and memory. The yang spirit is mortal, it is our conscious mind, it is responsible for emotion, choice, personality, ego, identity, etc. It is active male, and made of energy like sunlight or electricity, it actively moves of it's own accord. The yang spirit is our lifeforce, it animates us. At point of death the yang mind/spirit separates and goes back into the environment. It is the interaction between the yin and yang minds/spirits which allow us to be alive. If the two can be fused as one before death, the mind will continue to function as it did in life, the more energy that can be channeled into developing the spirits before death the more human like the spirit will be. If the two are not fused together rebirth will occur when the yin mind is attached to a new yang spirit and observes a new life as such.
  2. Practicing with wild animals

My zhan zhuang brings all the sheep to the yard.
  3. Why do what you don't wanna do?

Well other schools talk about the fusion of yin and yang spirits as the creation of the immortal fetus.
  4. Why do what you don't wanna do?

I am the interaction between the yin and yang spirits, conscious and unconscious mind. So when I die I'll become just my unconsciousness, and be left in a dream type state of existence. If the yin and yang spirit are fused together as one, they become something new, the yang spirit isn't scattered to the wind. This new type of single spirit will not be reincarnated, the mind will continue to function as it did before the death of the physical body.
  5. Why do what you don't wanna do?

I believe we are made up of two spirits, death is the result of the two separating. The yin spirit is like the unconscious mind, the yang spirit is like the conscious mind. The conscious mind goes back into and merges with the world, while the unconscious mind dreams on till it is fused with another yang spirit and born again into the world as something or someone else. So before I die it is my goal to merge these spirits together and stop reincarnation.
  6. Why do what you don't wanna do?

It might make you even more sad to know the whole point of my life is to end reincarnation. To cease to exist eternally, or become an immortal spirit that doesn't reincarnate.
  7. Why do what you don't wanna do?

I do what I don't want to do because I have to continue to exist.
  8. Mopai Training with jim mcmillan

mjjbecker, Can I ask your personal opinion on something? Do you believe the lower dan tein can be filled without sitting meditation in a deep trance state. (as is taught in spring forest qigong, and longmen pai) As in filled completely? This is something I am genuinely curious about.
  9. Mopai Training with jim mcmillan

I bet we will see tons of low post accounts popping up here to vouch for this Lin person in 3...2...1...
  10. Too old for Taoism ?

What are you goals for practice, and what schools/systems are you interested in?
  11. Mopai Training with jim mcmillan

You read too much into what I said, Jim/Kosta/Andreas are established students, this Lin person has not been established as a true student yet even. No one except the guy who promotes him has even met him in real life. My main concern is that we have a known scammer http://taoist-texts.blogspot.com/ who claims to have a copy of the mo pai manual who uses proxies to appear to come from around the globe, and has the M.O. of selling ebooks. This guy has screwed the community for a lot of money, with his mo pai manual scam. He creates hundreds of accounts here and elsewhere to convince people he is real but only talks to himself with different personalities. This guy is a master scam artist, and probably has some serious mental issues as well. If you look at Lin's books on amazon you will see there is not one with a good review from a person who has their real name verified, without real name verification they can easily be posted by the author. Furthermore it seems he releases new versions of the same book to escape negative comments from real people, while posting tons of fake reviews from unverified people.
  12. Mopai Training with jim mcmillan

This Lin person may or may not be the real deal. If Lin can help you continue past the basic guidance others may offer with basic meditation instruction, then maybe he might be worth talking to later. I don't know, but I don't really trust him as being the real deal.
  13. According to this video by the guy who did the interview with Chang's student Jim McMillian a new book by Jim will be out this month. I don't know much else about it. The video says to check back for more information when it is released.
  14. The Thorium Dream

I doubt most will watch this but to sum it up quickly. In the 50's and 60's we built prototype LFTR's (Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors) as part of the MSR (molten salt reactor) project. We established that it is a viable technology. Worldwide we have enough in proven reserves for 10,000+ years of thorium fuel (in the USA we have enough for 2000 years for our needs) This estimate includes projected increases and transportation. You can literally mine dirt and get thorium it's extremely plentiful. LFTR's generate 1000's of times less transuranic waste (the nasty stuff) than existing reactors and can actually use their waste as fuel. It burns almost 100% of it's fuel, whereas existing reactors burn 0.5-0.7%. LFTR's cannot generate weapons grade material. LFTR's cannot melt down under any circumstance. LFTR is almost good as fusion. The man who invented and held the patents for the type of reactor we use today Alvin Weinberg spent the rest of his career as head of Oakridge national labs campaigning for the use of LFTR technology, eventually he was told to shut up, and refused to do so. He was fired for his LFTR advocacy. This isn't some free energy or pie in the sky technology, don't compare it with that. This is a real and proven technology.
  15. You have the ability to change the world any way you see fit, but you are limited to human level intelligence. How would you change the world for the better?

  17. Which way is right...

Neither way matters if you aren't in deep deep deep trance states. I use deep abdominal breathing, and reverse breathing as is taught in longmen pai.
  18. Old neigong manual

    Awesome thanks.
  19. Old neigong manual

Sitting practice, slowing the mind and metabolism, focusing on absorbing energy. Or something similar.
  20. Old neigong manual

Could you quote a sentence or two from the manual that deals with meditation?
  21. Old neigong manual

Does this manual speak of meditation in addition to physical exercises?
