I don't think Max's practices are bad at all. I have no beef with his system. A lot of close friends love it and swear by it. All I am saying is to be careful. You can start doing third eye breathing and wind up with major psychological disturbances. The way I see it you want to build a house, you build the foundation first, then finish the roof, then finish the walls and siding and the drywall last.

Recently I got to speak with an enlightened master and ask what enlightenment is.
Thunder_Gooch replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Yes I realize there are traditional Buddhist terms. What he told me verbatim, was that the void of outer-space isn't empty, and matter isn't solid. This "physical" reality is a literal dream, and our "physical" bodies and minds are not the thing dreaming it. It's a 180* shift in thinking. Whether he is really enlightened or not I don't know. I do know all the zen koans I've ever heard about make sense now after having him explain the answers to me. Who knows what he is, maybe he's just another nutcase. He was smart as a whip and pretty darn interesting to me though. -
It's a real simple technique, you could fit an accurate summary of how to practice of it in less than one paragraph. My issue with it though, is that working with the upper dan tein isn't such a good idea till your lower dan tein is filled to the brim. The order I was taught to fill the dan teins was lower, upper, and middle, and to be extremely careful working with the upper dan tein. You can get energy into your brain and not be able to get it out, and no amount of antipsychotic medication is going to have one bit of effect on it. They call this kundalini or qigong psychosis, and it's a real threat.

It's no offense to max, he may very well be the real deal. However, there is so much fraud and deception out there, I would rather learn from a master that doesn't flaunt such abilities unless they are willing to back it up by being observed and documented by scientists. Maybe he's afraid of the attention it would generate, but even if that's the case why did he make knowledge of his abilities public in the first place if he isn't willing to submit to scientific validation? Just seems like a have your cake and eat it too, sort of thing. Wim Hof has no issues or qualms with submitting to such an exam, and has done so. That's what I want to see from someone who claims to have abilities, not personal testimony from followers. Lot's of people say to follow your heart, well both my heart and my head vote no on max. Nothing personal to anyone here who likes the guy. I might change my tune in the future if he can document his abilities in a scientific setting, or he'd be willing to give me an orgasmo chi demo. Otherwise no, I'm not interested.

It's my path to walk, not yours. I do my best not to fill my head with nonsense. If I throw the baby out with the bathwater so be it.

I absolutely can't stand how his system is marketed, it's as if a professional marketer was hired to make him out to be a God. I don't think he is nearly as advanced as his marketing department would lead you to believe. I don't think maxes hands glow, I don't think he has magnetite crystals in his brain, I don't think he was struck by lighting which fused his third eye open, I don't think he or his students can disappear while in meditation, I don't think the people in his videos are really having orgasmo chi fainting spells, and if they are it is purely psychosomatic. I think max might have some legitimate techniques, such as the third eye breathing he teaches, that is how I was taught to fill the upper and middle dan teins. I think max may have some degree of very very subtle ability and those sensitive to it might be able to slightly feel it. I don't think he can walk on water like so many others though. I'd be willing to eat crow if I got a personal demo, or if he underwent at least some basic scientific observation. I would put max on the level of a reiki or wiccan master, and it isn't something I am interested in learning as I fail to see how it could possibly help me. My honest apologies if this offends you, It's not my goal to offend anyone. I should have known better than to answer a question from 2 years ago on such a touchy subject.

What my friend and I seek in a master isn't subtle energy, but rather obvious energy. My friend is years ahead of me, and as my senior I trust his judgement on the matter. What you say is true though, just because something is too subtle to be felt doesn't make it nonexistent. It just makes me uninterested in it. Max has no more appeal for me than a reiki master, or a wiccan coven leader, or a sufi priest or whirling dervish. Sure all of those people may have some valid teachings, but I am not interested in sifting through them. I've got maybe 50 years left here on this earth If I am lucky, and I've got something I want to do before I die. There is so much that isn't going to help me realize my goal, and my time is running out. I don't want to waste my time. So when someone way more advanced than me goes and visits a famous master and tells me not to waste my time, I trust his judgement and move on. No offense to you or anyone else.

Does anyone else struggle with their Sanity?
Thunder_Gooch replied to manitou's topic in General Discussion
I think you are perfectly sane, in an insane world -
I love Chris Hedges! Also I come from a strong Atheist background, so that's how I think, it's in my blood. I had an experience in 2005 that opened my eyes to the reality there is much we don't understand. I can't say I am an atheist any longer as a result, but I am still highly skeptical in nature. So many teachings are just made up gibberish, it's like panning for gold, and not knowing which bits are real gold till you test them each yourself. It's maddening. I try not to fill my head with too much nonsense, unless a teacher or system has been validated scientifically or personally. I know truth is out there, it infuriates me I am not evolved enough to grasp it though.

I've said all I care to say on the matter.

I am tapping out, I don't think we can continue a reasonable dialog.

His practices might be valid, a lot of my friends love them. I don't think max can walk on water though like his inner circle students believe. Honestly I didn't want to be drawn back into the debate, but someone dredged up a 2 year old topic to ask me a question, so I obliged them. I should have done so via a private message. Let's see these studies on max if you have them. Hearing rumors of them isn't good enough. And if all it documents is blood flow abnormalities, I'm not interested.
-
I don't care who's gone to see max here, I don't trust their judgement, I haven't met them, I don't know them. I trust my friend's judgement. I trust my judgement. I trust masters that have gone under the microscope to document their abilities. If you think he's legit that's great! No seriously if you like what he has to offer you awesome sauce. I'm not sold, and one of the few people I actually trust felt nothing at all from the man. He reeks of commercial spiritual salesmanship, and that's a huge huge turn off for me. I was struck by lightning and my third eye is fused open and my hands glow, and my students can disappear on camera, but I can't let scientists document said phenomenon, but I can make a full length feature film about me and crazy orgasmo chi powers. Sorry dude if it offends you but my BS-o-meter has rolled over a few times over this guy. Money talks and BS walks.

Chunyi Lin of spring forest qigong has a good rep, don't let others here steer you in the wrong direction though, full lotus isn't as important as other make it out to be, a deep state of meditation is more important than how you fold your legs.
-
Someone I trust explicitly got zero juice out of him, that is good enough for me. But if I can locate him and he's willing when I am ready I'll go seek him out and get a demo in person as well. I try to be careful what I fill my head with, as there are so many frauds out there. Right whatever. He publishes pictures of glowing hands and disappearing bodies and talks about how a lightning strike opened his third eye, and starts production of a llamma dorje movie but he can't release scientific evidence because it clashes with his main focus? LOL Look man, if you went and you felt his orgasmo chi and it works for you cool bro. More power to you. I have a close friend told me he felt nothing at all from the man. I know and trust him, and his observation. I don't want to fill my head with useless nonsense, so I look for systems that have valid scientific evidence supporting them and their teachings. I've got several teachers I want to seek out and test myself when I have time and money to do so, Max is one of those people.

Read that, then watch this video again: http://www.myspace.com/video/vid/13312251 I am sorry this just makes my nostrils burn with marketing BS. Ok so he's got some ability, lets see some scientific observation of such. Wim Hof has the guts to do it:
-
My friend felt no orgasmo chi, and I trust someone I know more than someone I don't. I am not questioning his practices, only his abilities. There is a difference. I didn't say max should go on TV. I said he should validate his abilities scientifically. Grow a pair and ask to be observed in a scientific setting, Wim hof was big enough of a man to do it, so was John Chang. When I have time if he is still teaching I'll go get a demo of his orgasmo chi in person. Should I get some orgasmo chi vibes I'll be happy to eat crow and report back to the community.
-
If you can watch that video with a straight face and still think it's real I've got a bridge I would like to sell you. A few of my friends like him, and still practice his teachings. His teachings aren't the thing in question, but rather his abilities. I have never met anyone I trust though that actually felt his orgasmo chi. Have you felt his orgasmo chi power? I've seen some pictures of glowing hands, and people half gone while in rocking chairs, what I am talking about is validating his abilities under scientific observation. Some people like Wim Hof (tummo) and John Chang (mo pai), actually have the balls to do this and validate their abilities. After I am done with my own training if he is still teaching I'll go seek him out and test out his orgsmo chi projection abilities myself. I'll be happy to eat crow if he turns out to be the real deal. I have no inclination to waste my time with frauds. Also HE named his system kunlun, it's just a hodgepodge of different practices. Most notably Jenny Lamb's spontaneous adjustment qigong system. It isn't true kunlun pai.

I've had several friends who have studied with him if that's what you asking. I don't think he's legit because of this video: http://www.myspace.com/video/contributor/lama-thunderbolt/13312251 It just looks fake as crap, I mean this looks hilariously, stupidly, fake. A friend of mine who went to a seminar asked for an orgasmo chi demo and never felt anything. Maybe he is legit I don't know, but I would like to see him submit himself for scientific study before I would consider buying into him and his practices more.

I think we do need skeptics, but I agree Randi is a douche. He doesn't allow any way for applicants to protect their privacy, it is impossible to remain anonymous and challenge him even if you didn't want the money. Also the prize is funded by DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) supposedly. Remember most spiritual teachings are written by frauds, there is far more disinformation than there is real information.
-
I agree, there are maybe a handful of people on earth that advanced, the rest is just a magic show. And yes they probably would have been turned into Jelly. The end goal isn't to become a superhuman, it's to end reincarnation by becoming an immortal spirit.

If you were powerful enough it would work in a real life situation, not in a hypnotic way, but in an actual blow your *** back twenty feet onto the ground kind of way. If the videos were real you wouldn't see them stumble you would see them be blown away like they were a leaf in the wind. These masters literally absorb gravitational energy or what we call negative or yin energy, they fuse it together with an equal amount of positive energy like sunlight. When the two are fused then active positive energy can leave the body, and interact with the environment. Or if a dense enough negative energy field is present positive energy can leave the body and interact with the environment.

Firstly I don't think the initial video that was posted was real just more nonsense. The video's I've posted, those people have been documented by scientists. Therein lies the difference. There is no such thing as magic, or magic powers, or supernatural happenings. It's a false dichotomy. Natural/Supernatural. There is only the natural universe, anything that appears to be supernatural and is not a fraud is only viewed as such because we do not understand it yet. Training in tummo is almost identical at the early levels to his school, that is the correlation. There are two types of fraudulent neigong masters. The ones who claim to have abilities while performing magic tricks, and those who teach as a master and have no abilities at all. I'd say almost every single one of them are indeed frauds, some though not so much. Nothing in this universe is magic my friend, there is only that which we don't yet understand.

Immortal4life, You aren't making a logical argument. I am giving you studies to back up what I am saying, hard evidence. You are showing video's of a fraud and saying hey guys look this fraud is a fraud, so everyone everywhere is a fraud as well. The logic behind this premise isn't sound. You are using faulty inductive reasoning to justify your belief. If you argue that all neigong masters are frauds, how are you going to prove it?
