I made this for you guys. It should be small enough to fit on a standard CD-R if you wish to burn it to disk. I was googleing some sounds and found some hour long mp3's of ocean waves and tibetian singing bowls and use a program to mix the two together. I realllllly like it a lot, like better than other professional meditation programs. This contains no binaural beats or anything else, it's just singing bowls and ocean waves. It is a huge file as I tried to preserve audio quality, it's a 320kbps mp3 and over an hour in length. I am trying not to eat my server's bandwidth up, so here is a mirror: http://www.uberg33k.org/Meditation-MP3.zip and a free hosting mirror: http://www.filefactory.com/file/42qep1j16wgf/n/Meditation_mp3 I hope you guys find it useful -

Recently I got to speak with an enlightened master and ask what enlightenment is.
Thunder_Gooch replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Absolutely, I don't think he is fully enlightened till he can walk through a wall. Money talks and BS walks. I only posted this because I found his explanations fascinating. That being said according to the man I spoke with: nobody/no-one exist, but paradoxically they do actually exist. In essence you are nobody/no-one and so is everyone else, there is no-one here to see or do anything and yet paradoxically they are here seeing something and doing something. The paradox is resolved when it is viewed in the context of a dream. In a dream you may believe yourself to be the character in the dream, but really that dream character has no existence, the only thing that has real existence is the dreamer. The dreamer of the "real" world is the infinite mind, qi, or spirit which fills the void in between the planets. And it dreams you as a dream character. In essence you are the emptiness, infinite mind, qi, spirit, whatever, but you're dreaming you are a man. -

I lay on my back on the bed and slow my breath down to once per minute, at that point I am usually passed out. I use my massage chair I bought which has a grounding wire going outside to a stake and connects to the perineum for real meditation though. I also have a mindfold, and I use an mp3 of a rainstorm to help relax during real meditation. In real meditation my main goal is first to go as deep as possible, slowing the breathing down and going deeper and deeper, then after you are there you can play with chi or whatever techniques your system uses, not before. You will know when you get there because you can see just as plain as day with your eyes closed. Don't freak out or you will break trance.

Thunder_Gooch replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in Buddhist Discussion
I am still deluded but here is my theory. I know that the universe or multiverse is infinite and contains all that does and could possibly exist, and empty space that it rests in is also apart of it. I know that everything is indeed one thing, and yet I still perceive myself as something that is separate from all that, even though I know the truth is that I am apart of it and it is one thing. So there is a paradox here. How can there be more than one thing if there is only one thing? Non duality means not two. I think the key is that when you become enlightened there are not two things (you+the universe) There is only one thing (the universe). The only way that paradox could resolve itself would be if you exit the equation. According to the guy I spoke with when he solved the equation, he realized that the only thing with true and tangible existence is the emptiness, it is the source of our consciousness, and it is dreaming that it is you. When you awaken you become that emptiness, the space in between planets, the void. In short according to him, nothing exists, but it does actually exist, and everything else is empty and nonexistent. -

What I got out of my talks with him was that emptiness is actually fullness, and completeness. It is like this. If you take a shovel and dig a hole in the ground. Now you have have two somethings. A big hole, and a big pile of dirt. If you place the dirt back in the hole both hole and the pile of dirt will cease to exist. Yet nothing is lost, and both still actually exist just as real as before. That is what empty space is, you see it as nothing, but really it is something. It is just like the ground before you dug a hole in it in the analogy above. Physical matter is like the hole you dug in the ground, I guess antimatter is like the pile of dirt. Yin and yang. We've been observing it bass ackwards if he's right. -
Normal Breathing vs. Reverse Breathing
Thunder_Gooch replied to Southern Mantis's topic in Daoist Discussion
My current understanding is that reverse breathing squeezes and compresses chi into the dan tein, there are other exercises which continue to fill it and compress it till it literally can hold not one drop more and the thing will bulge out of your abdomen where you can physically see it. If you fill your dan tein to the brim, and continue to pack it full and compress it, it will detonate if weakened by ejaculation if you keep pushing it. This isn't a concern because most people will never get that far, but the warning is absolutely true from my understanding. It is best to work with the middle dan tein at the solar plexus if you cannot go a week without ejaculation. -
I meditate every night for about 30 minutes before I get to sleep, it is the only way I can get to sleep at all now. I never get deep enough to feel the sensation of qi in my body though and my off days I have way too much to do. I might be able to shave off a few hours but I don't know if I will ever be able get that deep within an hour even. It's an all night thing to go that deep for me. I think most people never get anywhere because they aren't nearly as deep as they need to be in trance.

When tested his water was found to have sodium hydroxide in it which would cause the heat when it reacts with aluminum. He will not demo his skill without water and aluminum. This is a real skill though, but he is a fake. Tummo masters have been documented by scientists doing this: http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/2002/04.18/09-tummo.html

Thunder_Gooch replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in Buddhist Discussion
When you sleep at night you may have a dream of being someone else, this does not mean that you are the dream character only that you believe yourself to be while sleeping. "Once Zhuangzi dreamt he was a butterfly, a butterfly flitting and fluttering around, happy with himself and doing as he pleased. He didn't know he was Zhuangzi. Suddenly he woke up and there he was, solid and unmistakable Zhuangzi. But he didn't know if he was Zhuangzi who had dreamt he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming he was Zhuangzi." If what he says is true, this is a literal dream, you are attributing who you are to the wrong person or rather thing. The emptiness is the thing dreaming, and observing the dream, according to him. -

Just for the record even if what he said was true it is of no use to me, as I don't see how that could stop reincarnation. My goal is to become an immortal spirit, and to survive death. -

I may be misinterpreting what he has told me based on ego. Prior to enlightenment he was a normal person living his life, after enlightenment he ceased to exist, and only a dream character existed. He said verbatim that he had died and no longer existed. The dream itself thought it was a man if I understand him correctly. Also the dream itself occurs in the nothingness, or emptiness. Emptiness has actual existence, it is like qi, or spirit, or mind, and it is all that exists anywhere and everywhere, and anywhen, and everywhen. The emptiness of the universe is actually full of spirit, mind or qi. The only thing that is truly empty is physical matter. Before enlightenment I chopped wood and carried water, after enlightenment wood chopped wood and water carried water. I understand what he told me on an intellectual level, but I am still here and an ego still exists so I can't be enlightened but it is fascinating. -
It takes me 4-5 hours to get deep enough into trance to even begin to start working with qi really, I am hoping with training I can go deeper faster, but what I have isn't a practical skill at all.
-
It's possible I wish I were at that level I can only work with qi in a deep trance state.

Ok I've met a lot of people and books that talk about dancing in circles, and chanting silly mantras and songs, or drinking crazy things that should probably kill some people, or drawing symbols and casting spells with the right potions and rituals, hooey fooey. That's a bunch of gobbledygook. It isn't that complicated. It's simple you work with energies, and do meditation and physical exercises, there is nothing mystical or supernatural about any of this, consciousness exists path death but it isn't any more supernatural than we are as living beings. The more complicated something is, the less powerful it is imho.

No it is not, start with spring forest qigong if you want an introductory course. Chunyi lin is the best teacher to help those new to it. I also hear Ya Mu on the forums is a great teacher. http://www.springforestqigong.com/ There is a longmen pai forum you can go to ask questions about things on the practices though if you wish. http://www.longmenpai.com/forum/ Also you can take a retreat in the USA when they offer it. Kathy Li and Wenhong Sun are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They even drove me around Atlanta because I suck driving in traffic so bad. They are not doing it for a profit, the cost of the retreat barely covers all the expenses. I highly recommend them as teachers. http://www.laoziacademy.us/

White Tiger Heavenly Healing System "72 levels"
Thunder_Gooch replied to Warrior Body Buddha Mind's topic in General Discussion
Video is great. I am very glad I made the purchase! You might want to tell your customers they can use this free program to burn to a DVD so it will play in their dvd players. This is a perfectly legal use of the software as long as you have no problem with them doing this. http://majorgeeks.com/DVD_Flick_d5530.html Anyway this system is awesome, I am glad you are sharing with us -
It's more pie, not mo pai hehe Why wouldn't you be allowed? I was an atheist for a long time, a stark raving atheist. I had a spiritual experience that proved to me there was more to this life and universe than we could ever hope to understand. I am nothing compared to some of the more advanced students here on the bums, I am an insect, a peon. Trust me if a giant computer nerd can learn a very very very basic form of emptiness meditation anyone can. It is the very first step of all schools. This is the most basic thing you can possibly learn, but in my opinion it's also the most important. You are more powerful than you would ever believe yourself to be, and your self limiting beliefs are what's holding you back. The worst case scenario it takes you 6-8 months to get to the level you can reach trance that deep. I promise you the process is very enjoyable and relaxing and if nothing else you'll enjoy it for that. If nothing else try it out before you go to sleep as a way to relax before bed, I do. I use it as a sleep aid, but I don't have time to dedicate to serious cultivation at the moment. Maybe things will let up soon.

If you buy this book and don't like it, I will offer to refund you $28 in exchange you mail it to me so I can send it to a friend of mine.

So maybe both the Atheists and the Christians were right at the same time. The damdest thing is there is no paradox here anymore. The Atheist says that God does not exist. The Christian says that God does exist. This results in a paradox as they cannot both be right. But what if in fact... they are both right... Both right at the same time.. What if nothingness, void or the emptiness is all that really exists. According to physics empty space is anything but empty, it's full to the brim with virtual particles that exist as a particle and it's antiparticle fused together. Hawking says that at the edge of a black hole the event horizon it will break apart a virtual particle pair and suck in the anti particle and it will eject the particle back into space. The anti particle will eat away at the black hole, and eventually the black hole will evaporate and cease to exist. The act of seeding the universe with particles is called hawking radiation. So what if matter in our world now was once just virtual particles that were split from their anti particles. In essence to begin with it was nothing. Or rather it was emptyness or void, that which we cannot see, the space in between the planets and galaxies. If you dig a hole, you wind up with a hole in the ground, and a big pile of dirt, but if you put the dirt back into the hole, there is neither a hole, nor a pile of dirt, but both still exist, they didn't go anywhere.

I wouldn't call what I am talking about drowsy I guess, I am not tired when I do it, it's more like you feel drugged but aware, time is also dilated, 30 minutes in meditation could easily last 5 hours or more. Also this is the only state I've been able to work with yang qi, my body grows cold but where I focus my mind radiates heat as qi is breathed into it. I've experienced heat hot enough to be painful, the rest of me is cold though. Deep slow rhythmical abdominal breathing is also necessary to become relaxed enough to get this deep, I guess that's what you mean by embryonic breathing. Thoughts do not come and go in what I am talking about, that is unless you force yourself to think. It's very quiet, and still. The mind isn't chattering. If you focus all your will power and all your resolve into making something happen in this state it will happen, that is if you can do it without breaking the trance. For me this is the only state in which qi can be worked with, I can't feel qi at will unless I am that far in trance. Maybe I am yang heavy and I have to go deeper than others, I don't know. There is an in between state, before you can see again, in this state you feel no body, and no thing and no sensation. On the other end of that if you keep going, you pop back into another body the yin body. It is only when you are back in this yin body that you can project chi outside yourself and effect things in the real world. At least that has been my observation. Also your English is fantastic, I would have never guessed you were not a native English speaker.
