  1. Genuine Schools

I believe I am what Jed McKenna refers to as the "break out" archetype. The only joy I truly find in life is dreaming of transcending it. I know why the caged bird sings. One thing I like about McKenna is his ability to cut through the BS. He reminds the reader, death is coming, and it is going to suck, a complete dissolution of physical being, like being dissolved alive in a vat of acid. He doesn't sugar coat reality, that is what is in store for every living being on earth. I know it's awful and morbid to think of but it is also the cold hard truth and the reality of our situation. Many people would rather live in denial of this, and in fact almost all do. It's too horrible a thing to dwell on. It is better to enjoy your life and live in denial of reality. As Jed Would say confronting reality really lights a fire under your ass, and helps you get your priorities straight. If the cycle of rebirth is real it means this just repeats over and over ad infinitum. If Buddha were imprisoned? that's a little oxymornic don't you think. Like saying you unliberated a liberated being. If I were liberated from death and rebirth as a Buddha, could transcend space and time at will I don't think it would matter too much where I parked my physical body if I still had one to park. The nature of the place is you can't leave? I'll give it my best shot that's the only thing that brings me real happiness and meaning in life.
  2. Genuine Schools

I would like to exist as nothing forever if given the choice, no rebirth. Just a mind at peace for eternity in the void, just awareness itself and nothing more. That is my idea of heaven. Short of that, I'd like to exist as a spiritual being and find some place to be alone and meditate and train in peace undisturbed without reincarnating.

Does he allow anyone to ask questions or is he too busy for that?
  4. Genuine Schools

Some schools have the beef, others don't. If you enjoy having a spiritual life and that's all you care about then it's fine to screw around with philosophies and practices that don't actually do anything, as long as you enjoy the ride that's all that matters. As for me I can't enjoy the ride. Every moment of every day death is with me. Every time I glance in the mirror, every time I take a breath, I am reminded of my own mortality, but more importantly that I am going to wind up in another dream like this one if I can't get out before I die, and I lose all my memories, identity, ego, and personality too so my odds of getting on a path to break out the next cycle are reduced to baseline. I want to become a being not bound by reincarnation. Anything else to me is a waste of time. That's just my take on the matter.
  5. Genuine Schools

I think mostly it's sour grapes on the part of most spiritual seekers. They get all huffy puffy when masters with real abilities like Chang et all are mentioned. The end goal for me is ascension to a spiritual being while alive, spiritual immortality, ending the cycle of rebirth at any cost. Any school that doesn't share the goal of spiritual immortality, to me at least is just more newage hogwash. What is the point and why bother? If you believe you are going to die and that's the end, enjoy your life. If you believe you are going to die, and go to heaven forever, enjoy your life. If you believe you are trapped in a cycle of endless death and rebirth then do something about it before you die. I like learning about non duality and associated philosophies, and I find it fascinating. But if it can't stop rebirth what good is it?

    Schools such as?
  7. The Tao of John Titor

Back in 2005 I was messing around with gamma band brainwaves (42Hz) after I read about master monks who had such high amplitude gamma waves they couldn't measure them accurately, I tripped my balls off I traveled through realities above and below this one, and I saw what that we do live in a multiverse. I was a staunch atheist until that happened to me. It literally was worse than any acid trip I've ever heard of. I had bodies I could shift my mind into and out of each on different layers of reality, it was almost as if I was the Quan Am Buddha with the thousand arms. Sure I sound like I am batshit crazy, but I was there and I know what I experienced. Titor purposed the same 6 dimensional theory of reality that I had independently realized, I believe P.D. Ouspensky also spoke of this same 6 dimensional model. More than anything I believe there may be some truth to his story because his description of the multiverse.
  8. The Tao of John Titor

Not to get all morbid and depressing on you. I worry more about my family and friends and our world at large than I do myself. I really want to leave this world as soon as I can, as long as I am certain I won't be reborn into it or another like it.
  9. The Tao of John Titor

What I was getting at is that in 2001 prior to 9/11 no one saw the attacks coming or how they would be used to beat the war drums or get us to give up our civil liberties via the patriot act and other similar legislation. Titor did as plain as day, and what it would lead to. Before 9/11 even happened. If he wasn't a time traveler and he didn't have insider knowledge then he knew what was coming, even about the war with Iraq and the fake WMD claims we used to invade them. Which isn't interesting at all until you consider this was pre 9/11. The vast majority of people myself included were not anticipating a false flag terror attack to justify war in early 2001 pre 9/11. I was blissfully unaware, and it took me a few months to realize it for what it was. The same thing happened in Germany, it's an old and effective tactic. They burnt down their Reichstag library (German houses of parliament) and blamed the communists and passed the enabling act which granted Hitler near dictatorial power to do whatever he wanted under the guise of national security. It always works.
  10. The Tao of John Titor

Just out of curiosity how old were you in 2001 before 9/11 happened? I was in college when 9/11 happened I was a pretty geeky kid, I tried my best to keep up with politics and things of that nature. I don't remember people preaching in droves about false flag terror attacks to be used to justify wars to secure oil resources. If I am wrong please show me I am. Life was idyllic in the 90's I know I was there, it isn't just some old fart romanticizing about how it used to be. I really did make more money in the 90's a child than I do in 2012 as an adult. I'd give my left nut to go back to the early 90's knowing what I know now and bust my ass and get out of this fascist hell hole, which is certain to collapse catastrophically.
  11. The Tao of John Titor

Hey man I give you the whole bit about being a time traveler from 2036 is too far fetched. The point is this man had the insight to know exactly what was going to happen politically and what indeed has happened. He quit posting right before 9/11 and everything since has been spot on. That is except trivial things which wouldn't effect our lives much anyway. He predicts a nuclear WWIII with Russia over the conflict in the middle east, most people on earth dying, and in my nightmares I see the exact same future. I believe if it was a hoax it was a damn good one with more insight than anyone in the year 2000 had, I certainly never in a million years would have thought in early 2001 that we would be stripped of our freedoms and that things would get as bad as they are today. Lets give it another 5-10 years and see where this is headed, I think Titor even if he is a fraud and hoaxer is spot on.
  12. Genuine Schools

Most schools don't get results, a few do. Those are the only valid ones imho. I'd like to quote a favorite author of mine on the topic Jed McKenna:
  13. Genuine Schools

You do realize that there are tons of authors who just write crap in their parents basement and sell it to newage dip#$%s looking for the next big thing. Most of what is on the market is just stuff people made up. Chanting mantras or spells or performing rituals or sacrificing your pet goldfish on an alter will not accomplish any #$%$ thing. If I just make up some crazy practices and give them authentic sounding names and take on students to study in my school, it doesn't make my school equally real and equally valid to any other. Some schools have clearly defined goals, and training results in clearly defined outcomes, and if each step is followed, exactly the way you are supposed to, you wind up where you are supposed to be for the goals of that school. You can't just make up a bunch of random crap and expect it to have the same effect as any other practice. It doesn't work like that in any other area of life so why the heck would it would for spiritual practices? Let's say I taught students how to throw knives professionally and had 30 years experience with the art, and some bozo down the street came up with the great idea you can become a professional knife thrower by spinning around chanting mantra's and using only spoons while blind folded. Yeah his school would be just as real and valid as mine.
  14. The Tao of John Titor

The ones that mattered were spot on, the trivial ones weren't. If what he said was true about a multiverse, then interacting with any parallel reality would cause it's future to diverge from the one you came from over time.
  15. The Tao of John Titor

Just for reference I was just about to begin college in the year 2000. No one thought that all our rights, civil liberties and freedoms would or could be revoked, and exist in name only, not reality. No where was there indication of a "pearl harbor" type event like Titor Predicted, or that 9/11 was coming that I was aware of. No one I ever met thought we would pass the patriot act which is amazingly similar to the enabling act Hitler passed. No one ever thought we would be torturing people to death in secret overseas prisons. No one thought we would be spying on 100% of domestic internet traffic, facebook chats, cellphone calls, land-line calls, texting, etc. I earned had a higher income per hour in the 90's as a high school student than I do now working full time. Life was good almost like a utopia under Clinton, The economy was great, I remember when gas was less than $1.00 per gallon. We'd fill up and just drive for fun or cruise town because why not. He seemed like a good president focused on fixing the economy, and keeping us out of war. Then he screwed up and took the bait, and got a BJ from a pudgy intern young enough to be his granddaughter. For all the trouble he got in over it he should have just $%@#ed the B#$%. lol Funny how newt was pushing for impeachment over this but screwing everything that moved while his wife was sick with cancer. Then Bush Jr. was instated as president not by the electoral college as is the norm, but by the supreme court, packed with friends of the Bushes. Then 9/11 happened and they used all the excitement to remove all our rights and civil liberties under the guise of protecting us. The point I am trying to make is that in early 2001 before 9/11, what happened in terms of revoking civil liberties, rights and freedoms, was unthinkable to me as a citizen. We were MURRRICA land of the free home of the brave. They can't revoke the bill of rights, they can't suspend the constitutionally granted freedoms.Turns out I was wrong. And here is JT here before 9/11 saying exactly what would occur, and what it would lead to. In a time when it what he was saying was crazy tin foil hat stuff. Turns out his crazy tin foil hat stuff was abso-f***ing-lutely dead on accurate. That's what's so spooky.
  16. Genuine Schools

If I am not mistaken P.D. Ouspensky also had a 6 dimensional theory of reality, in which the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics (all possible worlds are real) was the 5th dimension. I was screwing around with gamma band (42Hz) brainwave entrainment in 2005, after I read a study about master Buddhist monks and their extremely high amplitude gamma brainwaves during meditation, and I fried my brain out, and experienced something along the lines of the Quan Am Buddha (the one with a thousand arms) I had thousands of arms and legs and bodies for that matter, each on a different layer of reality but each were equally real. It led me to the idea of a 6 dimensional theory of reality that read exactly like Ouspensky's and others. It may have been hallucinatory but it was absolutely as real as it gets when I was experiencing it. It turned me from a staunch atheist with an interest in Buddhist/Taoist meditation and philosophy to a devout pantheist.

    Ceiling cat be praised.
  18. What is Enlightenment?

I debated posting here but I thought maybe someone might get some use out of my research. First off I'm not enlightened, and I am not interested in trying to become enlightened unless achieving it meant never being reborn (should the cycle of rebirth exist which I think it likely does, based on observations from masters like Wang LiPing and John Chang) The most common and excepted definition of enlightenment is a permanent state of non dual awareness (no self/other dichotomy, you and your environment are one entity not separate things) Everyone has a different idea for it, and no one can agree on one standard definition. Read Mastering The Core Teachings of The Buddha by Daniel Ingram M.D. and see some of the many different models that exist for enlightenment. I think in the intellectual sense the most common and accepted definition of enlightenment is attaining non-dual awareness which lasts until death. The mind is conditioned from birth to break apart reality into things and stick labels (words) on them. In reality there are no things, everything is one. From space you can see a galaxy as one thing, zoom in to a solar system and you can see it as one thing, zoom in on a planet and you can see it as one thing, zoom in and see beings that inhabit it, and see each as one thing, zoom in on their cells, and see each as one thing, zoom in again on their molecules and they appear as one thing, zoom in again on the atoms that make up those molecules and they appear as one thing, zoom in on the subatomic particles, and they appear as one thing, and then their constituents...... Ad infinitum. Everything we observe appears as something separate from the rest because our minds are conditioned to think that way, and break the whole into chunks. Enlightenment as I understand it de-conditioning your mind to break apart reality into separate things and see everything as a whole including yourself till your death. I am not sure that is what I am seeking, but I find it fascinating. My primary goal for life is another definition of enlightenment which focuses on ending the cycle of rebirth. Here are Jed's McKenna's (claims to be enlightened) thoughts on enlightenment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lqKr_f4dL4 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXmzcroUmdU More of my thoughts on nonduality: There is no you, there is only the experience OF you. Every belief, opinion or preference you have ever held or will ever hold, every thought you have had or will ever have, or memory you have ever remembered; has forever and will only ever exist inside of your own mind, and not external to it. Furthermore everything you've ever seen, heard, smelt, felt, tasted, intuited, remembered, or otherwise experienced has occurred not in some external reality but rather inside your own mind. When you experience something as occurring external to yourself, what you are witnessing is not an event outside of yourself, it is purely an internal phenomenon. What I am trying to say in more scientific terms is that bio-electro-chemical messages travel from your sense organs and are sent into your brain, and it interprets these signals and makes sense of them. What is being seen is the interpretation of reality your mind creates, not some objective reality external to you. Our experience is NOT the thing we observe, but rather more like a painting or a map of the thing our brain is creating a representation of. The reality we experience is purely a mental construct, and itself has no reality external to the mind. All thoughts, memories, ideas, opinions, verbalizations, vizualizations, have no reality external to the human mind. All beliefs are maps created by the mind to make sense of reality, however almost all confuse their maps of reality, with reality itself. The map is not the territory, it's a map which represents the territory. See this painting: It reads in English: "This is not a pipe" It is not a pipe, it is a painting representing a pipe. Just as all memories, ideas, concepts, opinions, verbalizations, and visualizations are not reality itself but rather a painting representing reality. The human ego, personality and identity are self created beliefs, and also have no reality independent of the mind. So when we burn all our assumptions, beliefs, opinions, paintings, maps and self-made abstract representations of reality to ash, what remains? Who remains? Nothing, and no one, forever. My personal theory is that all that exists is purely information and nothing more, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, consciousness is both one whole and infinite. We are like waves moving through an ocean of consciousness, perceiving ourselves as separate while still being apart of the whole.
  19. Genuine Schools

Maybe I am stating the obvious but mo pai is a genuine school for certain, and longmen pai probably is as well. There are maybe 60 people alive on earth that represent a truly legitimate school. The odds of finding one aren't good, as they stay well hidden from the public eye. The best bet I think any of the serious seekers (there are only a handful here on this forum) have is to meditate correctly and diligently and work with what is public knowledge, and cultivate ourselves as far as we can go on our own, work hard and save money, learn Mandarin and Bahasa and try to become the best students we can, and be ready to jump if we find a real teacher, or if we can locate one ourselves. I firmly believe that the universe will open the doors we need, when we need them. “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear” -Buddhist Proverb
  20. I think I've lost it

I started seeing someone and she spent the night, she experienced the same things I did again, without me coaching her or telling her about my experience. I played it off like she had a bad dream but when she told me what she experienced it was the exact same thing I had. It seems to manifest only in the state in between waking and sleeping. Not sure what to make of a hallucination that affects more than one person. The night this happened there were tons of tornadoes in my area, an area that rarely gets tornadoes. Lots of local businesses were destroyed.

  24. Qi Gong, lots of people are using it to deceive

Show them Dr. Herbert Benson's from Harvard medical and his research on tummo. Show them videos of Wim Hof one of the few non monks who have mastered tummo and what he can do like being packed in ice on camera for hours. I agree most people in this field are frauds and liars, but not all of them are.
