  1. I think I just experienced enlightenment

The term enlightenment means something different to everyone. There are 10,000 different interpretations and definitions of what it is. For me at least my idea of enlightenment is a person who has transcended this world. The day I can walk through a solid wall, and leave this place at will is the day I will consider myself enlightened.
  2. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/7645857/Man-claims-to-have-had-no-food-or-drink-for-70-years.html By Dean Nelson in New Delhi Published: 11:02PM BST 28 Apr 2010 Indian patient Prahlad Jani (Mataji), who claims he has survived without food and water for more than seven decades Photo: AFP Prahlad Jani is being held in isolation in a hospital in Ahmedabad, Gurjarat, where he is being closely monitored by India's defence research organization, who believe he may have a genuine quality which could help save lives. He has now spent six days without food or water under strict observation and doctors say his body has not yet shown any adverse effects from hunger or dehydration. Mr Jani, who claims to have left home aged seven and lived as a wandering sadhu or holy man in Rajasthan, is regarded as a 'breatharian' who can live on a 'spiritual life-force' alone. He believes he is sustained by a goddess who pours an 'elixir' through a hole in his palate. His claims have been supported by an Indian doctor who specializes in studies of people who claim supernatural abilities, but he has also been dismissed by others as a "village fraud." India's Defence Research Development Organisation, whose scientists develop drone aircraft, intercontinental ballistic missiles and new types of bombs. They believe Mr Prahlad could teach them to help soldiers survive longer without food, or disaster victims to hang on until help arrives. "If his claims are verified, it will be a breakthrough in medical science," said Dr G Ilavazhagan, director of the Defence Institute of Physiology & Allied Sciences. "We will be able to help save human lives during natural disasters, high altitude, sea journeys and other natural and human extremities. We can educate people about the survival techniques in adverse conditions with little food and water or nothing at all." So far, Mr Prahlad appears to be standing up to scrutiny. He has not eaten or drunk any fluids in six days, and similarly has not passed urine or a stool in that time. He remains fit and healthy and shows no sign of lethargy. Doctors will continue observing him for 15 days in which time they would expect to see some muscle wastage, serious dehydration, weight loss, and fatigue followed by organ failure. It is common in India for Jains and Hindus to fast, sometimes for up to eight days, without any adverse affects, as part of their religious worship. Most humans cannot survive without food for 50 days. The longest hunger strike recorded is 74 days. According to Dr Sudhir Shah, who examined him in 2003, he went without food or water for ten days in which urine appeared to be reabsorbed by his body after forming in his bladder. Doubts were expressed about his claim after his weight fell slightly at the end of the trial.

  5. New Interview With Chang's Top Student Jim

Shit as opposed to what other teachers and schools? The real BS in my opinion is that information on how to ascend isn't freely available to all humans.
  6. g-tummo

As I understand it, it isn't absolutely required, just adds to the effectiveness of the technique.
  7. Could someone please tell me the purpose of life?

Also if you ask google.com search for this without the quotes: "answer to life the universe and everything" It tells you the answer is 42
  8. g-tummo

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread. No time for anything anymore :/ Anyway from what I know of tummo these are the techniques I have found publicly available for it. The easiest method for triggering inner fire as I understand it is sitting in full lotus if possible, concentrating the mind's awareness at the naval and using deep slow diaphragmatic breathing. The second method: While seated in a simple cross-legged position, grasp the underneath of your thighs with your hands. Use your stomach and abdominal muscles to circle the belly area three times to the right and three times to the left while keeping the torso still. (You can prepare for this by first moving the muscles left and right, then gradually building up to a circular movement.) Churn the stomach vigorously by rippling the muscles from top to bottom, then shake your body like a dog that has just come out of the water. While you are doing so, raise yourself a little on your crossed legs, then drop back again onto your cushion, in effect bouncing a little off the floor. Repeat this whole exercise three times, ending with a more vigorous bounce.
  9. Could someone please tell me the purpose of life?

The meaning of life is different for everyone I suppose. I remember hearing somewhere the purpose of life is to discover your life's purpose. Looking to nature I find that the meaning of life is to evolve, to reach a higher level of being. In nature the message is simple, evolve or die. I believe it is our purpose here to take control of our own evolution, to transcend biological limitations and become as Gods. I believe if we do not destroy ourselves one day we will reach a level so advanced people of today couldn't even fathom it. I believe it is our purpose to truly understand what this universe is and how it works and realize what really is going on, the true nature of reality and existence. I think eventually humanity may merge together into a singular consciousness, where each person serves as a single neuron in the neural net, a collective mind yet each part still retaining it's own identity. I think amazing things will happen in the future if we can live to see them.
  10. g-tummo

Once Zhuangzi dreamt he was a butterfly, a butterfly flitting and fluttering around, happy with himself and doing as he pleased. He didn't know he was Zhuangzi. Suddenly he woke up and there he was, solid and unmistakable Zhuangzi. But he didn't know if he was Zhuangzi who had dreamt he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming he was Zhuangzi.

Hi I was referring to robert bruce of author of astral dynamics and energy work. I also hope you realize your dreams
  16. Gold Dragon Body Photos

I would probably be more interested in this if there were some scientific investigation into max and his students. http://www.lamathunderbolt.com/largetrailer.htm This trailer for the upcoming max movie has really turned me off to the practice. It really looks fake to me. I think max could settle this whole affair and allow himself to be studied by scientists and filmed.
  17. Overdosing on TTB

You'll be back , just lurk more. It's rare but every so often someone posts something interesting.

Wisdom is a good goal, I'd like to be wise one day Truth be told I really do find Robert's system of energy work to be one of the most advanced, and down to earth no bs training manuals I've found anywhere. I've got a bunch of different practices right now, I hope to work with them and maybe in a few years new information or teachers will surface, and I will be at a cultivated enough to be worthy of becoming their student. Right now though my foremost priority in life isn't training, it's working full time. I am burning both ends of the candle at the moment. I work a day job, and come home to hours of computer repair work each night. I hope to save enough to buy 1 acre of property soon. I plan on getting a camper, and a metal roof over it, a well, and a septic tank. I want to have a minimum standard of living, and then go to work part time to support that lifestyle. I hope at that point I can focus more on training.
  19. Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson and Taoist Magic.

you can preview the book here. http://books.google.com/books?id=a_olqazEVvMC&printsec=frontcover&dq=Taoist+Yoga&hl=en&ei=kOu3TNLNG8X_lged-PH7DQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CDYQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false In my opinion the book needs to be re-translated in simple and coherent english. It is gibberish in it's current state.

Sorry I had forgotten about this thread, hadn't been checking it lately. I don't have much time for the bums anymore, seems mostly nothing really interests me here anymore. I check over the topics to see if any new important developments or teachers have surfaced but other than that I don't read a whole lot on here anymore. Anyway... It really doesn't matter what the end goal of a practice is, just that it is clearly defined, and clear instruction is given on how to get there. Most of what is on the market doesn't work like that, it is discussion on historical, cultural, academic, philosophical and religious what not, and no real goal is stated, and no real training information is given. I want to find teachers who have actually accomplished something. John chang (mo pai), and wim hof (tummo) are good examples of that. I want a system that actually does something, and I want actual instruction on how to do it. Most of what is available on the market doesn't meet that criteria, it's just philosophical bantering.
