Qigong Teaching of Taoist immortal
GrandTrinity replied to GrandTrinity's topic in General Discussion
It just aligns the 8 major points on the orbit with the 8 forces. I agree the Brocade practice is too much, but I like this book just for its teaching about the I Ching and Orbit correlation. -
AMEN! You could be my teacher any day! I like the way you think. Do have plans then, after leaving that system?... When I was at the State University of New York, it was filled with people who were lost in materialism and consumerism... Even with Goddrd College in Vermont (the most liberal school...) most people have their heads in their butts. There is no balance (seems like everyone is stuck in the illusory body...) compared with the Nei Gung wisdom of self, world, and universe. World-centric development within... I am trying to take it all on... I appreciate your insights on the Life of a Qi Gong teacher thread too, priceless. My problem is that I have trouble finding a teacher to apprentice with. Thus, I am forced to study many systems and be creative... this is not the way it was in old China. Now I am experiencing some problem with my Atlas bone (nothing that wont be fixed, but it's a reflection of taking on too much without a live, credentialed teacher... such as Grandmaster Yuanming Zhang or someone who has 55 years experience in what I have only 3.5).

Juxtapose - Place side by side What are your favorite things to Juxtapose? Since reading about the trigams connections to points on the orbit in Stuart Alve Olsen's 8 pieces book, I like this...

Might want to consider a 8 pieces of brocade practice video and book by Yang Jwing ming or BK frantzis video and book.

What TTC translations do yall like? I like the Wu translation, English and Feng is good, Mitchell is easy to understand, I just found this version which is nice: http://www.wudangdao.com/TAOISM/taoism.htm "70 My teachings are easy to understand and easy to put into practice. Yet your intellect will never grasp them, and if you try to practice them, you'll fail. My teachings are older than the world. How can you grasp their meaning? If you want to know me, look inside your heart. " Also I just ordered the Jon Star book on the TTC: Amazon Link Also, I used to have a bookmark to a site which has like 30 translations of the TTC on one website, for comparison. Anyone have that link?

Thank you for these deep insights. Actually, I am cultivate enough to know that going into the lesson, my kidneys were drained. That morning, my grandparents woke me up and shattered my enegy body a few times when I was trying to meditate upon awakening...my ming men was relatively closed when I went into the meeting! Nonetheless, it was still a very fruitful lesson...next time, hopfully my environment prior to the lesson will be more conducive, but I had difficulty waking up and defending my chi against the grandparents... the master actually pciked up on this and asked me where i came from before he lesson.....very nice insights yall offer.

Lol the ming men warmer! hahaha Are you talking about this hat?

Thank you for these tips. I suspect that enhaling Cannabis herbs contributes to this? I will have to check my Tan Tien and Ming Men more, avoiding spicy foods and yang herbs.

Any of you familiar with or practice it? Seems to be the same form taught by Wu Dang Dao of Colorado in their Tai Chi Chi Kung 18 movements. What does anyone think of it? I think its a great form for meditators. http://www.taichi18.com Turns out the profesor who invented this is serious! Jampa Mckenzie talks about him in one of the articles on his site, about how he can do anastesia with pure qigong! Remarkable!... I wonder if the profesor really invented this form, or if he took it from the Taoists? hmmm... I will have to look into this. Also, "This Qigong is very effective and easy to learn. It is practiced around the world by over 10 million people, and is considered a <i>national health exercise in Malaysia and Indonesia."</i> I will have to borrow a video camera and record myself doing the movements for Youtube, I am proud of myself for memorizing them all! Finally I memorized a new qi gong! (:

Also, this "inventor" of Shibaasi has treated the president of China with Qi gong... I think its pretty profound that this is an international health excersize in those two countries. What if America adopted that? hahahaha

Well the form Wu teaches is a great "shamanic" form as he calls it. However, the form Zhang teaches (he taught Wu in the late eighties and is much earlier in the lineage) feel more like the real form from the Royal family. When I said I am angry, I meant that I am disappointed with Wu and even all the top American Qigong teachers who wrote testimonials for his book, as Zhang's form feels much more invigorating and is definitely a lot more authentic, even quicker to practice. I cant believe nobody of those testimonial writes for Wu picked up on this!? Nonetheless, I am glad to have read Wu's book. I am happy I went to the 2 hour private with Zhang, as I got an awesome transmission of very subtle Qigong techniques that are changing my clearly subtle body for the better... These two or three books Zhang wrote are not available on his website, but perhaps if you call or email. I feel that Grandmaster Zhang is the "real deal" and I highly recommend anyone serious about Qi Gong study with him. I have not seen a higher teacher in America or the world (I heard that Zhang is friends with Mantak Chia who I also respect a lot for his helping reveal Taoist Alchemy to the world).

Seeking Help: Qi-gong Zhan Zhuang
GrandTrinity replied to Ryan McCoole's topic in General Discussion
I was in this spot just like you a couple years ago. Do not force yourself to reatian jing. We are very young. If you let it go out, dont be mad at yourself. Many many many wise teachers say that people our say can and should emit one every few days. If you can healtfly go a a couple weeks or more? thats great, more power to you - I have done that. At the same time, be aware not to feel bad and to know that yes, after age 65 it is reasonable never to emit. For now? Keep the virtue high and do what feels right, make a balance between emission and retention. Dont kick yourself for emitting bro. Also, not need to be celibate if you dont wnat to. What do you study in college? I dropped out and studied qi gong full time, now Im working to get credit for all that research I did, and it looks like I just may very well get 45 cedits and graduate next semester. -
Talking about non-stillness forms.... 8 Brocade 5 Tibetan Jesus sitting Most of Grandmaster Zhang's teachings Tai Chi Chi Kung 13 Yang style of Chia Meridian Chi Kung by Dirk Oeillibrandt Warrior Wellness BK Frantzis Energy arts and Congress Winn's stuff, about 85% of most Iron Shirt 3 and morning practices of Chia Im sure there is a couple others I'm forgetting.... And you? Everyone chime in, even if its ZERO, let us know?

Living Divine Relationships (Hardcover) http://www.amazon.com/Living-Divine-Relati...TF8&s=books This books is not even released yet and its #2 on Amazon. Sha is a Qigong and Chinese Doc whose making a fortune. PDF table of contents: http://www.drsha.com/library/preview.php?b...=11&pages=1 What the heck? Semi-Qi gong going mainstream, eh??? I read th book 4 keys to self healing: mudra, mantra, breathing and visualization are the four keys I think. He combines Mantak Chias teaching with Buddhist teachings and obvious yet simple qigong techs. Actually, I rather enjoyed that book and took a lot of notes on it... he is the real deal. Obviously he is not Grandmaster Yuanming Zhang, but his new age Qigong is pretty innovative and he offers some nice insights such as: the more secrets of the universe you give out, the more will come back to you. I like him. Some of the empowerments sold on his website, however, are rediculously expensive! Like a grand for some hour activation or whatnot. Oh, and hes not a Western doc by a Chinese Medical doc. He seems to have a team of editors helping him write, too... he is like a Deepak Chopra almost.

What movement Qi Gong forms have you memorized?
GrandTrinity replied to GrandTrinity's topic in General Discussion
Forest, I am curious which 3? -
Hmmmmmmmmm best way to start? Forget everything you know. Learn all the basics and treasure these... Where in the country are you? Get with the best teacher around, perhaps a Wu Dang teacher is best. I will record and upload a Tai Chi Chi Gong video for you (and the world) soon, this is the video Wu Dang Colorado advises us to start our training with. Wu Dang in China advises us to start with 5 animals form (not combined with healing sounds as Winn does, but seperate.) While Grandmaster Yuanming Zhang has us move/sound... like Wind and Water, also connect hand positions with heaven, Earth and humanity. Learn a couple good mudras... yall know.

Anyone familiar with Hun Yuan Gong? I former Olympic Judo coach whose now into IMA told me that its like a cross between Qigong and Taiji which made me interested. It seems to be linked with the Chen sytle. Anyone familiar?

"Grandmaster Feng has taught Taiji widely and tirelessly. He has published several books that generously share knowledge that has never been publicly revealed. Taiji is a treasure of traditional Chinese culture, but he has traveled to many countries to present it as a gift to the would. A fruitful tree appeals wordlessly." Wow, a non-plaguerized book and fruitful tree apeals wordlessly! That is incredible! Seriously though, much love for the grandmaster. I thought I saw a Wu Dang Hunyuan form, however? I beleive my friend in Australia was trained in it and sells the DVD.

Very cool! I like how you are going with James Miller and Livia's material, very academicaly grounded. Komjathy too. Also, you found Winn's path is surely a nice introduction to Daoist Alchemy. I feel you about the profesional thing... You might want to check out and read Wudangtao.com Their Tai Chi Chi Kung, I think, is something you might want to learn, practice and teach. Wu Dang is serious! Look at the seminar link on the Wu Dang page, where they desribe all the classes they could offer to teach??? That is amazing! The Shibashi Qi Gong is the same form of Wu Dan Tai Chi CHi Kung 1, 18 movements. I will video record myself doing it, or teaching it soon for posting online. I feel that doing research with Qi Gong is perhaps more important than making a "job" out of it, although these two things do not need to conflict. Everyone, these days, is interested in preventative and integrative medicine! Health care is the biggest industry in the world, trillions of dollars, spirits and hearts... Keep training in WU DAng and you could start to teach at a medical school! Med schools are open to this stuff now... check out the podcast interview with the Qi Gong institute founder, whose 86 years old... very interesting stuff. Welcome! Oh, and keep us posted on the trianing with Ou Wen Wei - that is a great form that will heal a lot of people.

Well the relatives are flying in for thanksgiving. With the rise of false yang energy, I finally remebered to post this thread! What is the deal with deep foort massage and reflexology? I heard something about breaking up the bones? Better Chi flow... so they are more limber and whatnot? Anyone know some nifty foot-energy knowledge practice skills? Sources? Or should I just get a tatoo like the Buddha with the wheels on the bottom? Perhaps both! (j/k about the tatoo ) for real
