It has some cool chi kung in the basic movements. The more advanced stuff is cool but I think you need a really balanced brain to do it, time and a lot of effort. Effort is not taoist.

National Institute of Health deesignated twelve National Experts in Qigong and Taijiquan

??? What is good with this? Who is the magic 12?! Here is 1: http://www.wisdomtraditions.us/MichaelDeMolina.html More importantly than who they are, of course, is how might one compassionately pass on the distillation of their important teachings to end suffering in the world effortlessly? But first who are they!? This should be front page of the New York Times! -
When I was first getting into mysicism I looked up books on enlightenment and found COhen, he helped me to stay determined and true, but his wordyness offered little body-centered enlightenment which I was looking for (on a gross level/sustainable, rather than just when I was reading his stuff.) Still I think he has a good message in his stuff and has reached a decent degree of enlightenment. Enlightenment does not exist in time, that is what I learned from him. He is a very wordy chap. That thing about his mother is crazy, our mothers are deadly important! dont see them as attachments, but cosms of our relationship with enlightenment, the earth, the mystery and sacred/feminine. On the other hand all that is an attachment too! uuuhh

Anyone have ideas on working to heal the Atlas/Axis area? I tried moving it in figure 8's and it seems to be more messed up now! I was talking to a chiropracter who specializes in "upper cervical" but would rather take care of my own spine, thank you! But perhaps I should pay him a visit, considering that he is down with the hole tai chi thing and such...he was confessing to me about how he feels a little silly having gone to medical school. Also I know of a chiropracter who owns the local yoga studio, that would be someone I should talk to also?! What is yall'z experience with average vs. eastern-knowledgabel chiropracters? One of them I went to was also an accupuncurist and she was cool pretty cool. Well anyways, I just layed my back on a tennis ball and gave it a nice massage, whose idea was that by the way? Its very smart! I looked up on ebay massagers and found some shiatsu chairs, lol! I will have to try and convince the parents they should buy one for their health! You know its rather interesting how they named the atlas as such, atlas was a very important greek god comdemned to hold up heaven and earth, father of hermes stuff...

Who here is a fan of Kirtan? For those of you who do not know what it is, its chanting to hindu gods with traditional Indian isntruments at a yoga studio, I have been to two at two different places. Both times I went into a deep state of bliss, in and out of it. Yesterday at the Kirtan, some of us exploded into dance. I was doing qigong for about a quarter of the time. It was a greatly powerful experience. Ill not that it was 2 hours long. Most powerful about the experience was that I did sitting meditation, then standing, then sitting again, then dancing, sitting qigong, standing again, sitting meditation, standing...you get the point. Switching positions like this is really powerful, I find, for opening the chi flow, esp. when doing dance and sitting meditation/inner visions...not to mention the AMAZING live music about water and fire...

You know? I was thinking the same thing! Whenever I see a master with hair like that, or I mean NO hair like that, it makes me wonder. Cant a qigong master regrow their hair? Sorry Yang Jwing, you loose respect in my book! No seriously though I have learned some really good tips from his stuff. But I dont know if I can get past the hair thing on a subconsious level!

I started reading and ended up skimming it. I am not intereted to read an entire book on prostate cancer, feeling like worrying about it so intense is unhealthy. I do some hui yin movements to keep my prostate healthy. I do not stick anything in my bum neither. Only things come out and thats shit. Question for the author: Are you familiar with the cranial bone work in the Cosmic Healing 2 book? Making the connection between the 5 shen and these cranial bones should align the skull, in time, I beleive? Therefore one may not have to depend on that you speak of to reach higher levels. Mmh? Also, beyond the Reichian stuff, perhaps Buddhism really offers a genuine path in regards to the idea of compassion, clarity and light. Not that the Reichian stuff is dry, it is very interesting too. Also, thanks to Chi Nei Tsang I never needed a Frolov device and can breath real deep into the lower TT. That would seem to make sense, right?

Interesting stuff, I am tempted to get into your technique, amazing how you talk about this bliss consciousness and whatnot. Taoist masters dont even talk about that. In fact, excess joy can be harmful many say! I like these AYP tips on using mantra. I dont normaly use mantra, I like bone meditation a lot these days but will give this a try.

Why do trees live longer than (edit: most) humans?
GrandTrinity posted a topic in General Discussion
This is an intersting koan, eh? Could it be that they are silent? And simply absorbing the cosmic energy with patience? Perhaps their minds are not as cluttered as our seemingly "evolved" brains. Can longevity be a measure of merger with nature/the environment and even enlightenment? Those taoists who live beyond hundreds of, surely must have some to this same revelation. When the mind is empty, there is no room for sickness. A tree without one of its essential elements, like water, however, starts to think "i need water or I am going to die!" And if the tree extends its roots further, and still cant find it, it dies! Same with sunlight, air and Earth! The tree needs the magnetic metal core of the planet to ground its electromagnetic body between celestial spheres. Talk about a tree hugging hippy? Gotta love thinking about the many levels of tree consciousness, its fire of awareness in the spring. All hail to the axis mundi! -
http://www.artofliving.org/ http://www.aolresearch.org/ "I agree with the Maharishi of the 1960's (and the Yogani of today) that everyone should practice transcending and experience unbounded bliss consciousness and freedom from the damaging effects of stress." Sounds good! How do you feel about the idea that Maharishi is trying to channel money from the rich in America to poorer places and take over the world? http://www.aolresearch.org/pdf/Depression%20Summary.pdf Depression studies...let me know what you think. I wonder more specificly what is different about your methods? From my understanding of Tm meditation one just sits there with a mantra relaxed. Thats about it. How about some details on the siddih or yogic flying and whatnot? I wonder how transparent TM's finances are?

Why do trees live longer than (edit: most) humans?
GrandTrinity replied to GrandTrinity's topic in General Discussion
I meant to make the topic of this thread: humans supposedly have much higher intellectual capabilities than trees so therefore we should easily be able to master our internal proccesses and live longer (or something like this). For real now. Whose with me? -
Why do trees live longer than (edit: most) humans?
GrandTrinity replied to GrandTrinity's topic in General Discussion
Yes we have a lot to learn from them. Look at how smart they are! Trees are so wise it blows my mind. They are so damn smart. I wish to be as smart as a tree. Look at that stillness and that alignment! It is always silent, always moving subtle energies, always present in the physical form, it does not strive with others, it has all kinds of merit, compassion and clarity and light, it grows really tall and has roots just as deep, it has mad cool colors in the fall, I could go on forever about the infinite intelligence of trees. Has anyone read the book The Emporer Wears no Clothes by Jack Herer? Some real tree wisdom is up in that text phosho. -
Hmm i might have to try the banana spinach, sounds funny! Anyone here eat wheatgrass tablets?

http://www.masterlu.com Just saw an add for this qigong. It appears Master Lu knows his stuff very well, having been the head of Shaolin and conditioned a pro football team (Rams) to win the superbowl! 30 minutes of instruction for some $55 on the DVD makes me want to pass it up, but I have an inclination this might be a good dvd for my parents or something. Anyone here familiar with Master Lu?

Welcome welcome welcome. I have beend doing much research into the TM stuff. I was talking with a teacher about the 2500 and about prorams like yours. He said that people like you must have a "blockage" somehwere but I really must disagree and comend the work your doing. To think that Maharishi is the only way we can acheive global peace is just retarded. Maharishi even said it is okay that people are bringing his techniques to different levels or something to this effect. Are you familiar with the Art of Living Institute? This is another person who broke off from TM, perhaps you have tried his techniques? They are shown to fix depression in studies. How identical is your system to the TM system? How do you feel about their stressing 20 minutes twice per day? Do you think this can be too much for some people? My mom used to do TM in the 70s until it started to make her feel ungrounded/dizzy and so stopped. I was talking to TM teachers who said to have her come in for a "checkup". I wonder if they would try to charge her money for a checkup? I do agree with you a lot on the Vastu issue, saying we should destory all the shelters and rebuild them which do not face North or East is simply making Maharishi look like a fool! I think it is really good to break off from Maharishi and I look foward to combining his techniques with the taoist and other other traditions, the essence of indiginous wisdom, and applying science to this for the healing of the nations/people and all celestial beings! I read somewhere that is cost 6 grand to be a Tm trainer, I also heard it was only like a few grand for the training, I wonder what is true? Regardless I dont care because I want to see a more integral system developed which has a reasonable (or no) price and is adaptable for everyone...that is my humble vision

Could you elaborate on how yoga is for weightloss? I hate to see my parents draining their vital chi reserves when they could do yoga for weightloss instead!? Wong Kiew Kit is a very nice qigong master! Do you plan to attend on of his seminars?
