  1. Wim Hof is a very interesting guy as well. I would be interested to hear how you make out after doing his course.
  2. That is pretty bizarre as well. There are definitely some strange and nasty practices out there, all over this world... Aye, I don't know how Dajo did it, but I don't even want to try anything at all like that. It might come in very handy however if a person could learn to exert control over bleeding and tolerance for extreme pain.
  3. Here's another oddity regarding people with apparent special invinciibilities. In this case it was a reported invincibility to many gun shots: The English translation summary of the Indonesian TV news story is that a man who was apparently named or nicknamed 'Tarzan' in Gorontalo Province in Indonesia owed a lender some money. The report apparently explains that the man he owed money to showed up at his house with a police officer, but Tarzan killed the police officer with a machete. The police then arrived in force a while later to arrest Tarzan for killing the police officer, but Tarzan stood in the open entrance of his house holding a machete and dared the police to come get him or shoot him. The police apparently shot at his feet and legs to try to disable Tarzan, but it apparently had no effect, so they then started shooting at his body as the man continued to stand in the open entranceway of his house with no apparent harm from the bullets the police were shooting at him. It is stated that the police shot a total of about 107 bullets at Tarzan as he stood in his house entrance. A neighbor apparently eventually informed the police that Tarzan was wearing a special protective amulet ring on his hand that protected him from the gun shots, so it was reported that the police used a sniper to shoot the ring and break it, and once they did that the police killed Tarzan. The following news report video is graphic, as it shows Tarzan being carried out and away after he was reportedly finally killed by the police. There is a long tradition in places like Indonesia and S.E. Asia in general of creating various types of protective amulets like this. Believe it or not, that is apparently the summary of the story of Tarzan and his protective amulet ring and his showdown with the police as described and shown in the following news report video:
  4. Yikes, that is bad. I have heard of people who have had rods and nails driven into their brain and some apparently survive, although I don't know if any or all made a full recovery from the brain damage. Just from what I recall reading about but I don't have any handy links. The avatar image was just made by drawing several triangles on a circle at regular intervals and then I colored in the sections manually with a paint program.
  5. While that is interesting for sure, the problem I have seem with many skeptic critiques like this is, as above, they are long on speculation but very short on concrete evidence. There is no real evidence listed in there that backs up the speculations that Mirin Dajo slowly built up scar tunnels through his body as they speculate, but that certainly seems to be a possibility to consider. Thanks for the comments. Whether Mirin Dajo really traveled to India to learn from fakirs or not, I don't know. I did see a book on him on Amazon, but the book is in German. I also saw that there is a long video on him by some guy who was speaking German, so maybe some people have researched Mirin Dajo in detail and have determined what is verifiable fact and what isn't. Something that does seem to be undeniable at this point is that the rapiers and swords were really passing right through his chest and abdomen. No matter how you slice it, it seems what he did is not something a normal person would likely ever be able to do without the high risk of serious consequences. Those rapiers and swords had to passing through various internal organs, and the risk of hitting major arteries and veins must be pretty high as well.
  6. Hello Nungali. I have watched that 'Mirin Dajo Explained' video as well, and while it brings up some interesting points, I don't think it can really fully account for what Mirin Dajo was doing. He was basically perforating himself in a number of places on many occasions with not only rapiers, but a sword is also used in the video I included a link to in my original post. I don't think any normal person could have done the same without some serious ill effects. He may have just been using special mind control to control his bleeding and healing, but even if that is the case I think it is still pretty impressive. Even people who are stabbed with small knives in the body can suffer serious bleeding and serious injuries to internal organs. I personally don't think the explanation is really so simple.
  7. Hello Josama. Since you seem to have an affinity for chanting mantras, then one possibility for you to consider is to do research on mantras and try to find one that that is the most suitable for your particular situation. For example, there are many different Sanskrit mantras which are for many different very specific purposes. The idea being that mantras evoke a very specific energetic response from the 'universe' based on the specific seed sounds which are contained in any given mantra. Some mantras are more generic in purpose and some are very specific in purpose. Here is an example of a very simple Sanskrit mantra which is described as being for the purpose of 'bringing in the light that removes afflictions': Om Arkaya Namaha I am no expert on mantras by any means, but it seems it is often recommended that you chant a mantra at least 108 times in a chanting session, and chanting does not have to be out loud. You can apparently say it silently to yourself with your mind, at least according to one source I have encountered. According to Thomas Ashley-Farrand in his book 'Healing Mantras', you should ideally chant a mantra like above for at least 125,000 times, done over a period of a few months to achieve the full 'mantra siddhi', but I would think you may possibly start to see some results long before then as you recite the mantra from day to day. Since it is a short mantra, even if you only chant for short periods of time throughout the day, the total repetitions would start to add up quickly over the weeks and months. The above mentioned short mantra could probably be easily chanted 30 times a minute, so in just 15 minutes that would be 450 repetitions, which is 900 repetitions in 30 minutes total of chanting per day. Maybe a fair bit of effort to put in on a day to day basis, but possibly something worth looking into if you feel an affinity towards mantra chanting. Light and strength.
  8. Hello Nungali. I have no idea if that is just tricks or not, but it sure looks freaky. Apparently that is the Anaang tribe (AKA Annang) in Nigeria in Africa, and this type of ceremony is apparently associated with their Ekpo secret society, from what some people commented. I personally would have to see statements from doctors or scientists that attest that they confirmed that it wasn't a trick before I could rule out tricks however. With Mirin Dajo, doctors did confirm that the rapier really did pass right through his body. Here are some of the comments taken from people who commented on that Anaang video: "He actually raised shoulders, and put the sword back of the neck and that man was to keeps skin look like the sword is inside...this is fake" "This is not "magic"... this is African Traditional Religion. This is an Ogun ceremony. Ogun is the Yoruba Deity who rules over all metals.. especially knives. In Africa, Ogun's colors are recognized as the RED of blood and the RED of Palm Oil... in Santeria the colors are green and black... These men are obvoiusly OGUN Priests under "possession" of the Orisa (Deity)." "This is real but it is not magic. They enter a trance like state and through breathing techniques are able to control pulse and blood flow. I am very much ashamed that these practices continue and is a contributing factor to Nigeria's social decline" "Here is the word of this video posting: Ekpo is not Yoruba nor Igbo nor Magic etc. This Video is EKPO of the ANNANG tribe from Afaha Obong, Abak, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Ekpo is a socio-cultural and quassi religious cult in Annang land. The event seen here was staged for a commercial video production. For context, the full video is available at some online stores." "This is SIMPLE thing if you understand "African Culture"..... Africans can transform magically metal into leaves... they can cut their tong and put it back .... they can cut the belly and heal it in 1 minute ...they can heal bone fractures in less than 5 days.. they can travel between two towns distant of more than 100 miles in few seconds without taking car or plane or walking..... you can walk in the rain without being wet... all this powers are kept SECRET.... " As you can see, various people have different ideas about what they are seeing in this video. Without some in person verification from doctors or scientists about whether tricks are involved or not, I would have to reserve trying to draw any conclusions. It could certainly possibly be a trick however, as we know stage illusionists do similar astounding illusions all the time. If it is not a trick, then I have to wonder why the insertion and removal of the knives was not shown in the video clip as well, but perhaps the original video the clip was taken from provides and shows more detail.
  9. Agreed. Even if the guy inserting the swords was an expert on anatomy, the risks of doing at least some serious internal damage or causing serious internal bleeding seem pretty high to me, but I am no expert. A strange case to be sure.
  10. Interesting perspective VonKrankenhaus, but I am pretty sure that people allowing other people to push rapiers and swords right through their chest and abdomen is not too likely an 'old trick'. Doctors did verify that this man was really pushing the rapiers and swords right through his chest and abdomen areas, which is shown in the video. I think there is quite a difference between what is demonstrated in these videos and what some people do when they push thin metal skewers through their arms or hand or cheeks and tongue, and that sort of thing. Can you point to any other person who you know of who has deliberately taken rapiers and swords right through their chest and abdomen and not had any obvious bleeding or suffered any obvious ill consequences after? I suspect that you probably can't, but I have an open mind. What this guy was demonstrating, apparently on a number of occasions, I would think would probably cause some serious consequences for the average person, unless they were very lucky. In the least there is probably a strong risk of suffering serious internal or external bleeding as well, which for most any person would require immediate medical attention to address after being stabbed through like that.
  11. Hello flyinghigh. Without knowing a source it is impossible to evaluate something that may have been written about him like that. People do speculate all sorts of things when it comes to oddities like this, but in the video you can see that he has quite a few different puncture wounds on his back in different locations, so it does at least appear that he used a number of different locations for inserting the rapiers and swords.
  12. Well he did seem to have a regular physical body. It's just that he didn't seem to bleed or have any other noticeable ill effects after being run through with swords many times. Another thing that seems quite odd to me is that in the video he has the rapier pushed right through both his left chest and then after the right chest area, which I would think there is a good chance it should have punctured both his lungs, yet he seemed to suffer no problems from doing so. I have no idea how he was able to do it, but it sure is strange.
  13. Dreambliss, you are going to have to be more specific about what desire, amigo. When a person has no goals which they are actively pursuing, they could possibly fall into stasis and an unhealthy state of mind. If that is the case, then the solution is to start the process of getting out of such a stasis. If the desire is truly there to start improving things, then such a person might want to proceed as follows. They can affirm that they really have reached a point that they truly want to start improving their situation. If they can say that and truly mean it, then they can start out slowly by setting some very simple and easily achievable goals of one sort or another. An example of a fairly easily achievable goal might be to resolve to go for daily long walks, for example. If they choose a goal that requires much more effort at first, it is easier to say well, it is just too difficult to maintain, and end up stopping putting effort in towards that goal. By starting with more easily achievable goals, it is easier to stick with it and to persevere. Once a person has stuck with one or two easier goals for say six months or longer, and have therefore achieved those goals, they could possibly look at starting to add one more goal that is perhaps somewhat more of a challenge. The secret here is not to try to take on too much at first. Start with small and relatively easily achievable goals and stick with them for quite some time before attempting to move onto something more challenging. If a person in the sort of stasis I am talking about here can do the above, it will start to give them a sense of purpose in pursuing some goals, and then later a sense of accomplishement in achieving these goals, even if it is only a very simple goal or two at first. This should help to lead a person out of stasis and into healthier states of mind. I think there does have to be a genuine desire in such a person first to truly want to start improving their situation however. Without some real motivation to start improving things, then I think there may not be much persistence and effort put in. Best wishes...

  16. 4bsolute, if that is not a faked or otherwise altered video clip, it looks to me like the white van got snagged on a cable that was laying across the road, which then yanked the wire taut and caused the two other vehicles to get lifted up. Just how it looks.
  17. Qi gong feats

vonKrankenhaus, you appear to be in your own world. No worries. Such is the way of things. Mr. hou and the dian xue videos I posted along with a link to other dian xue videos appear to be demos of genuine rare martial qigong. Keep smiling.
  18. Qi gong feats

As I mentioned, IMO Mr. Hou's breaking ability went a fair ways beyond the usual stuff you might run across out there. I have never seen anyone break huge slabs of stone using their head as a battering ram like mr. Hou could do. Another interesting area of qigong is point striking, AKA dian xue or dim mak. Much of what we hear about these days is not real point striking using qigong, or is just movie exagerations, but there are still some dian xue masters out there who train using specific qigong training to strike accupuncture points for martial arts purposes, or for healing purposes. In some cases apparently only a light touch is required to disrupt a person's internal qi to the point that they could be very ill or even die if not treated by an expert to set things right again. Here are a few example videos of this type of martial qigong practice. It is no wonder that this style of martial arts training was traditionally kept hidden and secret, as in the wrong hands it would be a very bad thing: Warning: Animals are harmed in this video demonstration of dian xue: Dian xue strikes versus Shaolin iron shirt/golden bell expert More videos showing what a dian xue strike can do: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVEKAEX2LhqRia7Ry-HI1Hw/videos
  19. Qi gong feats

Well, I think what mr. Hou could do was quite a bit beyond the standard hard style qigong demonstrations you might typically find elsewhere. He did some of the more standard type demonstration stuff as well, but I think a person would really have to witness in person mr. Hou breaking a huge slab of stone about the size of a large grave stone (stone, not a cement slab) by ramming his head into it full force, and see how the stone slab breaks apart to realize that what he could do was really quite far beyond the common hard qigong stuff we might typically see nowadays... In my opinion anyway. Here is a 45 minute documentary clip showing more of what mr. Hou and his family could do:
  20. Qi gong feats

I believe his name is Shifu Hou Shuying. He appears to be the real deal from what I could tell. I remember watching a full Chinese documentary on him and his family years ago, and I also saw him perform live in person a couple of times. I believe this man and his family are the real deal. He trained his kids really hard from the time they were just toddlers, and he probably trained the same way when he was young. Mister Hou can break huge thick slabs of stone with his head with relative ease, and I saw him break a really extra large and thick steel file with a horizontal knife hand chop like it was nothing at all. I believe they are demonstrating true hard style qigong with no 'tricks', for the most part. Many performers of this type ham up their demonstrations to some extent to make their shows more interesting overall, but mister Hou's feats of breaking huge slabs of stone, etc. seem to be genuine feats of hard style qigong which would likely severely injure an ordinary person. I doubt there is any trickery involved in those sorts of feats that he does. He would probably be pretty old now if he is still alive, but his son and daughter are probably in their late thirties to mid forties or so now, I would guess.

It is fairly common for street lights to have light sensors mounted on the street light poles somewhere. When people walk by street lights, they can change the amount of light hitting these light sensors and cause street lights to turn off or on. I think almost anyone has probably noticed street lights sometimes turning off or on as you walk or drive past them at dusk or at night. This effect of course has nothing whatsoever to do with people having special powers, but I have seen some people who jump to conclusions that they have special powers that affect street lights, when in reality there is a very simple explanation.
  22. I have no idea who this person is, but this appears to fit the bill, more or less : "On the edge of evening;: The autobiography of a teacher and writer who holds to the old ways, Hardcover – 1946 " - by Cornelius Weygandt http://www.amazon.com/On-edge-evening-autobiography-teacher/dp/B0007DEGNM There is a biography of Cornelius Weygandt here: http://www.maulefamily.com/fziphtml/i3915.htm This guy seems to have been highly dedicated to both teaching and writing anyway...

  24. Stress or other mental/emotional things can probably be a factor for some eye conditions, but it seems likely that various eye problems are not directly related to such things. Dr. Ma Xuzhou in China has a whole qigong system based on eyesight improvement as part of her overall qigong system. Her qigong system (probably her family qigong system) is called the Ma LiTang Qigong system. She has 6 DVDs (some are double DVDs) out on her qigong system which include English subtitles (well, the type of English subtitles that are included on videos from China anyway). Her first two DVDs in that series are focused on her eye improvement qigong for improving all sorts of eye conditions. Her eye qigong seems to be quite well known in China and elsewhere, so her eye qigong system may be pretty good, but I personally have no experience with her qigong system. You can see a list of her qigong DVDs here (click on a picture of a DVD to get more info on that DVD): http://www.coohk.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=Ma+XuZhou+&osCsid=fc8ebe3d5fcab0905f8f01ea0a003642&submit=Search You can see a sample video clip from one of her eye qigong DVDs here:
  25. Cooking meat & Jing

flowconduit, horse stance and stretching, etc., and breathing this way, and contracting that way, and focusing on this or that, etc., may not help too much, but could well continue to add to your problems. Simple and regular zhan zhuang practice if practiced properly can start bringing real results. You also have to control your thinking as well of course. If your thinking is going to sexual thoughts frequently, then you will be taking two steps back with each step forward. IMO internal alchemy is something for renunciates, and then only when have they have mastered very good control of their thinking and emotions and desires first. It is not for the common person. You can't learn it from books either. IMO, the internal alchemy stuff you read about in books is either greatly misunderstood or misrepresented, or various commercialized stuff that really comes from who knows where, and which may seem to have something to it but in reality will not likely really lead you anywhere too useful. IMO real cultivation starts with developing real control over your thinking and emotions and desires. Cultivation practices that I have encountered that I personally would consider to be authentic, are usually very simple. They often seem to be overlooked by many people these days because many people in this modern world seem to confuse simple as being low level or beginner stuff. That is only an assumption however. Also, in my view, herbs and foods will not replenish prenatal jing/qi, but they can help bolster the body to some extent. Zhan zhuang is a very good practice for laying a good foundation, providing it is practiced correctly and regularly, and control of thoughts/emotions/desires is also cultivated in daily life. Just my own point of view...
