Hagar Perhaps I am being naive here, but when does one reach a level where you can protect yourself from this sort of influence through your own development? That was my initial reaction to this query of yours. Hmmm, doesn't Hagar have enough Power to ward of this sort of problem after all these years? Does anyone have any suggestions purely on the energetic level for self protection, sealing against pernicious influence, etc? Personally I like to use space clearing techniques like clapping or bell ringing. Any thoughts? Craig

Good luck. Look forward to your report. I have studied all levels of fusion with M.Chia more than 20 years ago....(whoa) I have studied all Winns taped material. He helped me understand it much more deeply than I had. Just go for it. I wouldn't want to prejudice your experience. PS- not everyone hates HT, M.Chia, M.Winn etc. Gratitude to all my teachers in all times and places. Craig

OK, thanks. That's actually good enough for me. I wasn't able to turn this up myself. Blue dragon was this gleaned from his book or his website? thanks Craig

Freeform thanks for the clarity of this. In the spirit of your comments. I personally have the opinion that the Lama title used by this gentleman is troubling. It is troubling to me because I can see no explanation for why he uses it and from whom the title was bestowed. While I believe that his knowledge of Qi Dao and family based systems with other names is likely quite significant and valuable, it is my opinion that the use of the title Lama is troubling to me and others. Without another explanation it appears to be self appointed for the purpose of marketing. Such labels are not important to me, but the Motive for using such a label is a concern. This concern I would likely set aside readily with the least bit of explanation. Thats where I'm coming from. Others opinions and concerns may well vary. Craig

I have to agree in part here. Tantrapa never addressed why the assumption of the title Lama, which has very specific meaning. Why no explanation of the title. If it was explained, my apologies but I missed it. Craig

Oh man, I had my snarky meter pegged when I wrote that... Now I have lost my motivation. Stay safe Mal. Quiet and sunny here in the great Northwest. Craig

did you read his book for free as suggested. Perhaps your answer can be found therein. Do you really care or are you just playing gotcha. I am pretty sure he addressed this the last time around the TTB inquisition. Craig

I concur. that is precisely the understanding as I have it from my teacher, who is unlikely to have misunderstood the chinese, being a native speaker. Craig

I think SF Jane just played you all. Notice her lack of participation in this thread. She is probably just trying to see what kind of justifications we can come up with for doing a very external exercise, while she sits back and chuckles and does BK Frantzis dissolving practice or something... jk Craig

Yan Xin still does healing with Harvard medical doctors -- I've posted the research -- it's the best peer-reviewed qigong emission healing research, published in Western science journals like the International Journal of Neuroscience, etc. Can you please repost links to the research you indicate you have posted? tks Craig

IMO calling BS is not the most interesting way to have a good conversation. If you think someone is full of it IMO it would be far more interesting to draw more BS out of them. Engage them. Provide your own thoughts and opinions. If they are full of BS they will either not respond, or more interesting they will respond and show you how truly full of it they are. this would be a better way for all to practice discernment if you ask me. Calling BS is so ...un subtle. I would much rather have a drawn out chat with a madman (not indicating any particular person here..) than tell him I think he is full of it. Boring. Craig

Wow!!! My head hurts. In science we trust. This has to be the most clear statement of science as religion as I have ever encountered. Just making an observation. Carry on. Craig

Beware of TTB, here be Dragons. And I am not referring to M.Yudelove here. Posters should be aware that responders most likely will not respond with compassion, patience and maturity. I for one think Yudelove deserves respect. As a human being. As an elder.(speaking for myself) As someone with experience. An opportunity to engage someone in conversation is what TTB should afford. For many who dare to expose themselves personally TTB becomes a public venue for personal attacks. All in all this exchange seems like an opportunity missed. Anyone is free to call BS in any situation but what's the point? are you going to protect all the poor souls out there who might be led astray by evil sorcerers? I like good conversation. I think M.Yudelove does as well. You don't have to agree with him to engage. Anyone ever heard of civil discourse. Seems to be a rare commodity nowadays in the US Political arena and on TTB both. Oh well. Craig

Get the DVD. It's good enough to learn the form. then "just do it". It's my recollection that Winn provides more context tying the form together with HT style alchemy meditations in the CD course. Even without that background just doing the form will have an effect IMO. Craig

Might I suggest sending a PM directly to Ya Mu? Perhaps you could ask him to reply here? Ya Mu - If we ask it's not spam, right? Craig

Hi there. I am not sure how many folks here know that "Arctic root" is another name for Rhodiola rosea. In my experience Arctic root is a good adaptogen with mild heat compared to ginseng. Also IME rhodiola is astringent and therefore a bit drying. It is a quite limited approach to chose only between two stimulative adaptogens like rhodiola and ginseng. but if I were to make a comparison between the two I would say that ginseng is more of a sexual tonic than rhodiola. about promoting jing to qi conversion, yours is the first time I have seen ginseng described this way. Probably most experienced cultivators who utilize external alchemy like herbs would suggest a more balanced approach using formulae and not just single herbs. However modern western approach to use of adaptogens does focus on one herb or so at a time. I think Arctic root is a good choice for regular use. Rather than switching away from arctic root maybe you would do better just to go off use of it for one week out of eight or some such cycle which is often suggested for adaptogens to maintain high effectiveness. good luck Craig

"But again, you don't know anything else apart from what you might have read in a couple of books." YM Wong This is so blatantly disrespectful that it takes my breath away. You think 5ETao only knows what he read in book. Now I am thinking you are projecting your situation onto him. You only know what you read in a couple hundred books apparently. Over and over again you have expressed your opinion about Maoshan and Shangqing as well as Shamanism and how it is not connected to your understanding of proper Taoism. What do you know about 5ET's EXPERIENCE-TRAINING-ACCOMPLISHMENTS-APPRENTICESHIPS- TEACHERS-TEACHING....etc. It is very clear that he speaks not from book learning but from a much broader perspective. Your response so obviously disregards 5ET's background as to make me wonder, again, what is your agenda. Why are you the self appointed expert on Mao shan pai and Shangqing. No wonder our 5ET has taken a break -again- from this forum. Craig

Taiji can be / should be Qigong as well. Do you practice standing still in your Taiji stances? Do you practice breathing or any breath awareness? It's in there. Not to say you cannot also pursue some Qigong as such. Just to point out that you may be missing what is right in front of you. Craig

Time to do some reading. I recommend "The Web that has no Weaver" It's a classic introduction to oriental medicine theory. Very readable. DONT try to needle yourself. Do find a teaching clinic of a school if possible to sample cheap acupuncture session. I am sure you can find more than just Youtube videos to learn more for free online. Craig

RFunaki You will not be banned. But now that your have arrived where you are maybe you can do something. Can you be a member of this forum? do you have something to contribute other than investigative skills? anything at all the doesnt connect to David V, or perhaps something that does which speaks of your personal experience and path? This would show something to this community about where you are coming from truly. Otherwise, it's a lot of hot air. PS - are you a lawyer? Your attention to detail in this matter is remarkable Craig PPS- why am I still reading this stuff and responding to it?? I, like Pietro, really dont care. -
