Very nice form - is there a book that shows the movement ?
-
ok, thx for the tip. Very good explanation drew, as always Here's in Berlin quite cold too, but I live in a warm flat. My legs are already bent, but I'll try with some full-lotus too. Thx for the links! I'll try them out. Fragrance qigong is a free download, but I cannot find any free stuff about the Pan Gu Shengong - am I missing smt ?

Here's an update of this post with my experience. I increased the warmth of my body with food, now it's better. I noticed that my hands and feet are very cold around midday. sometimes I have even time to meditate around this time, but my hands still cold. In the morning it depends: sometimes they are fine, sometimes are cold. On the other side everything is quite warm at evening meditation (around midnight). Lately I'm working more on my second dantien, especially with spring forest 2. This text is very useful too.

Anyone apart from Drew had experience with spring forest qi gong?
buscon replied to Edward M's topic in General Discussion
I think that spring forest qigong is one of the best methods to learn from a book. Level 1 is quite complete, for healing yourself and have a good basis - and you can even start to heal other people Spring forest is quite focused on healing, but you can use the method for alchemical purpose too. -
I practice some Iron shirt exercises of of the book qigong Empowerment and I think they are really good. Just follow the book, don't overdo, and try to concentrate on what you need now. We do some of the exercises at my kung fu school too. If you have a kung fu master just ask to him

Definitely a great book, very complete and quite cheap.

very very interesting, thank you for posting. I have to go more deep into your text, that's great

Lately I quite happy about my meditation path: I'm doing every day half an hour/one our of micro and macro cosmic circulation, spring forest qigong level 1 & 2, kung fu 3 times a week plus various qigong (8 brocades, wai qigong and other little forms). I usually practice standing and/or sitting, but not in full lotus as I wanted to stay rooted to the ground My energy level is quite good: lately I've noticed an increased flow of chi, especially when I do micro and macrocosmic circulation. I feel my heart and third eye points more sensitive - even though not totally open. My main reference books are: - Qigong empowerment - Spring forest After having opened the main channels and doing macrocosmic circulation, what could be the next step ? Going with the 8 extraordinary channels ? Or doing full lotus meditation until my chakras are fully opened ? Or maybe going with level 3 of spring forest ? I'm really into internal alchemy, I'm reading a lot of books and practicing everyday, at least twice a day. At the moment I don't have a meditation teacher, I'm looking for a good one in Berlin but it's not that easy (I'd like to find some Quanzhen stuff). My kung fu teacher is very good about kung fu and qigong movements, but very little about meditation and internal alchemy.

I actually didn't write in my report, but that's exactly what I did in the last time - sitting in stillness and inner smile. They really helped a lot, cleaning some blockage that I was not able to clear with other stuff. Reading Taoist Meditation was/is really helpfull too! Anyway I have to spend more time in stillness, for sure, but I'd like to know what come next and check if it's the right time to do it (I feel like that). I'll ask my I Ching too and let you know

I've actually already posted, but maybe still usefull now and here: http://www.duhtao.com I like mcdonald's version too

Sometimes I still suffering insomnia and some qigong would be good @mystic_taoist: try practicing some acupressure, it really helps. You can find plenty of info googling about it; I usually use the book Acupressure's Potent Points: a Guide to Self-Care for Common Ailments Be well

Hi all, I want to share how daily qigong practice and taoism view of the world influenced my life. I wanna do that to make order into my mind and write it here in order to have some comments or discussions with you What I clearly realised this morning having breakfast, after my daily qigong session, was that I'm slowly going back through my life, in very different meanings. I'm slowly dissolving my habits - both phisical and psycological. My life is going simpler, my desire are less and less. Overall I'm feeling better, eventhough I don't meet so many people as usual or I don't do anything special. So I'm deconstructing what I've built up in my life until now, going easier. At the same time I keep facing old memories, especially important step of my life that influenced my way of living. For example I face what I did when I was a child, the relationship with my parents, friends - sometimes little things, but they have been important in my education. All this stuff is coming up spontaneously, without any specific method. I'm just doing qigong and meditation every day, morning and evening. I call this process going back to the roots, because it's remembering who you are and why, analysing your past experience and dissolving out old blockages. All this stuff is kind of a consequence of my meditation practice: is all this happend and keep happening to you guys ? I noticed that we spend a lot of time in this forum talking about specific practice and we stick to them too much. I think it's also good to talk about our experiences, keeping them simple but going deep into ourselves. Looking forward to hear your experiences

I freely added some comments, as they came to my mind reading your answer Exactly, and in this oneness you act more precisely, taking advantage of good situations (without scattering energy) and bad situations too (they are actually just different kinds of possibilities...) Without this frenzied mode (quite a standard in our stressful world) you start to see the "quiet mind" and why you need time to re-learnt it. It's like learning to play and instrument that we forget to play... I think that this simplicity it's exactly what Tao is about, and that's why is so difficult to talk about it. Sometimes I try to explain it to some friends of mine and you really understand the gap between knowing something and experience something. When you learn smt through experience, it's very difficult to explain it: - you risk to explain in a trivial way or - you risk to be incomprehensible, either because you're not able to explain yourself or because you're too cryptical I suggest everyone to read the chapter "The Shores of the Dark Waters", from the book The Book of Chuang Tzu (Penguin Classics): at the end of this page you can find the beginning of the chapter. that's really taoistic too Cheers, and thanks both!

I find Drew's experience quite interesting and I wanna try to understand it better, for me and for everyone in this forum. The "O at D" stuff, still an interesting demonstration of the yin yang sexual energy, but it doesn't have to be a goal - if you want sex with a woman, just do it physically and explore more there. More interesting is what Drew did to reach that point and what he suggests: do springforestqigong (level 1 &2) and in particular microcosmic orbit until your energy chakras opens up, one after the other until the third eye is opened too (springforest level 3 or taoist yoga) and you start to turn your energy into shen. At this point you start practising the macrocosbit orbit, preferably sitted in full lotus. @Drew: please fill the gap of my resume

Hi mistyc_taoist, I use to have strong insomnia, now not anymore. Anyways it comes up sometimes and it's quite annoying. Qigong helped me to relieve insomnia. I think you're doing exercise that energise you. Try doing quieter meditation exercises like the ones that other people suggested you: sitting meditation (micro cosmic circulation, inner smile) or walking meditation. At the end of your session you always have to collect the energy in your lower Dan Tien, that's quite important - it's enough that you concentrate there and do 3 deep belly breathings. At the same time continue to do your current exercises, but just in the morning. Let us know how it goes. Cheers

The interview is quite interesting, thanks for posting it. Unfortunately I'm not sure about the "healing" part that you're talking about: is it at 20:18 or 26:02 ? Thx

Thanks again all for sharing and drew for creating the post. Tonight I'll listen to the springforest 3rd c.d. and I'll let you know how it goes. Stare at the moon and find emptyness
-
yep, I actually felt that area pulsing, I cannot say if it was because of increased electromagnetic chi energy, but it was because of my qigong session and (probabily) because of the full moon. I'm probably misunderstanding smt: that's why I posted my experience and asked your help ok, good to know. I've got to the level two of springforest, I wanted to end it and then go to level 3. Anyway I'll try to listen to the moon meditation cd. This makes sense to me, and with my recent experience too. In the past days I was not able to deal with this strong energy, so I had bed results (insomnia). Last night I did a good meditation and I splept very well - I think I've transformed in a good way this energy.

@TheSongsofDistantEarth: I dunno how you did it but thank you

Lately I feel like fasting, especially because of my qigong/meditation experience - I want to purify myself. I've never fasted in my life and I regulary practice kung fu three times a week: monday, thursday and friday. I'm really into kung fu, it's part of my meditation progress, I don't miss a lesson. So if I fast, I should miss some lessons (but I don't want to...) or miss at least one - every lesson is two hours of intense training. That's my plan: I will start on sunday, in order to recover energy eating on saturday (after 2 days of training, thursday and friday); then I'll fast until wednesday, or more if I feel like. This way I would just miss one monday and I will start eating again on thursday and in the evening kung fu. What do you think ? What's your opinion about fasting and training ?

Thanks smile - I think I'll try with Apple Cider Vinegar: I'm quite a fan of it lately

I add another personal experience about these days of full moon. Yesterday night I was doing my qigong meditation before going to sleep. Lately I just do half an hour of sitted meditation, self concentration/inner smile and microcosmic circulation. During the meditation I felt my third eye pulsing, so I concentrated and relaxed it, letting the extra energy down to my dantien. After that I went to bed, and I felt cold at my third eye as well as my feet: I relaxed again and I felt some energy (maybe the moon ? some light of the moon reach my room) going down until the feet. Afterwards I felt overall warm and I slept very well. I had the same feeling at my third eye the night before, when I was cycling under the full moon: when I watched it for some time (some minutes) I could really feel my third eye pulsing. I'm doing no specific exercises in order to open my third eye, even though I try to be conscious of it like any important point/chakra of my body. What do you think about it ? Could it be the first sign of my third eye opening ?
