Running into walls again....ARGH!
Vajrahridaya replied to Lucky7Strikes's topic in General Discussion
But in life, causation is not simple equation. It's... each caused thing is a unique effect of infinite causes which are themselves unique effects of infinite causes. Nothing is actually created, they arise out of potential latent in the endless flow of variables since beginningless time. So, cause is different than created in a sense of out of thin air. Only ultimately, not relatively and we only have the relative. So, you can always go back to the two truths model to get some sobriety. There is no ultimate view and that's the ultimate view is what the Heart Sutra is saying. From the sense of relative relations, they do not... one is more likely bound to a lower incarnation. They do have equal status in the sense of they both seem to exist, thus philosophically... one can see that they are equal in this sense. The dynamic of their particular existence, as in the way in which causes and conditions that are existence enact them cause a relative inequality. -

You need to study the 12 links more and consider them in a vipassana style meditation. Mind is merely it's perceptions. If your still grasping at mind as a substance that truly IS... then your basically just falling into the error of the formless jhanas. Becoming a Buddha is as much an illusion as not being one. You don't actually become a Buddha, you just recognize the insubstantial nature of the flow, which is a condition, that is caused. But, it's the opposite of a compounded condition. Yet, the display of Buddha is still a compounded condition. LOL! Is it... "V" for... Or... -

Lucky... your comprehension is pretty Yogacara (consciousness only school) and maybe some Yogācāra-Svatantrika-Mādhyamaka. Had to cut and paste that big word. It's still considered an approximate because the conclusion is still that moments of consciousness arise along with perceptions, even elongated focused perceptions on formless, timeless conditions that arise in opposition to time and formed conditions. It's still considered a relativity and not an ultimate from it's own side. All the best in this discussion guys!! p.s. The non-dual is still that all these minds and perceivables are inherently empty, not that they are one mysterious substance named mind. Which is why it's a non-substantiative non-duality free from proliferation. As in, nothing is established in the final analysis. double edit... not even "nothing" is established. -
My grammar has always been bad. I never finished high school due to going to many different schools in different states, thus loosing credits that I completed, and then having to get work to help out. Anyway... My experiences are corroborated by Buddhist teachers throughout history. You just need to read more Tantra. So, they are not merely relative to me. Take care.

Awesome!! -
I think I need a wider context for this quote, the inspiration from which it springs. I need to understand the entire philosophy and perspective this comes from.

You're a natural... no worries. -
No doubt... a depiction of an incarnate god... huge pride... huge pleasure trove. Huge personal power.

Ok... getting down on yourself is not the same as being selfless. Being selfless would be thanking the Buddhas and all beings before hand who have helped you get as far as you have!! YAY!!! p.s. Then offering that merit of recognition to endless beings!!! -

It's said that the length of time you have a glimpse into the infinite, is directly proportional to how selfless you have been. -
It's all a gift if I'm in the state of recognizing everything is sadhana. That's the only way I'm able to deal with the likes of these two talking monkey's. I don't know if she's ready to hear that just yet. But... thank you.
-
No my dear... what's sad... is spending lots of time criticizing what you don't understand.
-
You have the opposite type of sickness. So... a positive sickness is better. Thank you.

Actually, she's the one that does it. I have edited the first post because she placed it. Your reaction is typical of an ego trip.

Because it's only your endless chain of response or reaction that bares fruit. From this perspective you are the god of your existence because you only receive what you have given throughout endless time. There is no luck. -

I see I think I see what your getting at... there is no such thing as non-existence... yes... true. Ok... but what is this mind? -
Indeed... I can literally speak... off the sarcastic trip here. A kiss is an orgasm in Indraloka. You feel each other touch before you do. You can I think experience that level of refined pleasure here though. I've had glimpses.

Ok, thanks for correcting my assumption. But, right... no one. That's the point of the heart sutra... You'll have to experience the meaning directly by exhausting all other self caused answers. -

Yes... a bit of prasangika there. But... mind does not exist on it's own, it only exists relative to it's content... either formless concepts, or form concepts. The cosmos would still be without your mind, but that's just saying... that's not actual. Your mind is still dependently arisen and is not absolute. I think your still thinking that beyond perception and non-perception is some absolute non-dual core? Think about what this means. Because neither perception nor non-perception is pretty much how your describing things. -
If you don't understand the meaning, you're going to have a hard time with the words about it. Logic and reason as well as rational communication is a part of all forms of Buddhism. But... sometimes one cannot help but to speak over someones head. Look... I'm just saying... there are plenty that understand my writings. Because you and a few here do not? You think that you few are the end all be all judgement of clarity? I'm sure I'll learn better communication abilities at school. But seriously folks... stop trying to put me in your boxes!! Just... ask questions and I'll try to clarify. Kate, What I meant was that my beliefs are not indoctrinated, they are insight. They are reflective of direct experience. Peace! Eh... Sounds like new age stuff... nice intention, but does it lead to Buddhahood? I guess we shall see? The statement does seem to include dependent origination a bit.

LOL! I'm trying to see my own causes for this negative dance?? I've gotten her out of the room so that I can consider the causes to this effect with more objectivity. I know I'm wrong in some place here and two wrongs don't make a right... Yeah... I know... I don't think it's appropriate, but it is what is right now. So... go with the flow I suppose and learn what one can?

I think he's saying the flow of endless relative things as a whole is an ultimate existence. But, this is just saying that the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. So, is not held as a true view in Buddhist consideration. -

Your having a hard time understanding the experiential meaning of my words. Your making the wrong conclusions here. I never said exactly that in the way you are meaning. Yes. But it's deeply complicated and this reduction through words is limiting the scope of meaning. Things arise due to other things, simply... But that chain is complex, yet nothing exists inherently only relatively. Nirvana is just a condition that arises due to other causes and conditions, namely the 8 fold noble path.
