    Yes Dwai...
  2. oldest martial art?

"In Sanskrit they may be collectively referred to as śastravidyā or dhanurveda." These are supposed to be very, very old, pre-historic from India. Including grappling, and weapons. Wiki: "Indian epics contain accounts of combat, both armed and bare-handed. The Mahabharata describes a prolonged battle between Arjuna and Karna using bows, swords, trees, rocks and fists. Another unarmed battle in the Mahabharata describes two combatants boxing with clenched fists and fighting with kicks, finger strikes, knee strikes and headbutts. Krishna Maharaja, whose battlefield exploits are alluded to in the Mahabharata, is credited with developing the sixteen principles of śastravidyā. Many of the popular sports mentioned in the Vedas and the epics have their origins in military training, such as wrestling (maladvandva), chariot-racing (rathachalan), horse-riding (ashvarohana) boxing (musti yuddha) and archery (dhanurvidya). Competitions were held not just as a contest of the players' prowess but also as a means of finding a bridegroom. Arjuna, Rama and Siddhartha Gautama all won their consorts in such tournaments." There is another south Indian form which cannot be accurately determined as to the dating it. Southern Kalaripayattu...
  3. the earliest religion?

Well... there are lots and lots of texts, and I mean lots and lots, as well as all the pillars erected by Ashoka in around 250's B.C. that have the sutras written on them. We supposedly have parts of his body too as relics. The disciples were also very meticulous about recording the Buddhas actions, like eating habits, where he went... there are so many documents. Anyway... there is much more evidence concerning Buddhas existence than Jesus.
  4. Right, it's about integration, not escapism.
  5. Do not let them take your pineal power away

No, but without mastering those? Or at least experiencing them on a certain level. None of the higher practices will bare much fruit.
  6. Do not let them take your pineal power away

Yes, and that includes the Brahmaviharas... the Tibetans practice that like crazy my brother.
  7. Do not let them take your pineal power away

None of the Brahmaviharas alone can bring you to Buddhahood.
  8. the earliest religion?

We do in architecture and descriptions of things that are dated and are spoken about in the written Vedas. We know that sanskrit had a long, long oral history long before it was codified. Specifics? It's been a long time since I cared, lol... forgive me.
  9. It's easy to describe... the buddha described it. It's in 4 stages. The realm of infinite space infinite consciousness infinite nothingness neither perception nor non-perception There is no reference to time or other in these states of void meditation which is why they are called aspects of the void. Oh... but yeah.. even these do not adequately describe it... eating an apple is far greater than describing it.
  10. the earliest religion?

Supposedly the Vedas are the earliest with a very deep oral history.

Yeah, what if? You'll never know... but just check yourself first.
  12. Thanks JuJu! I hope your retreat was deepening!

  13. Well... I've experienced what you're saying about and do on a constant basis at this point it just takes a shifting of awareness. Kind of like being aware of every sub-moments moment at the same time as the densely 3 dimensional moment while walking around and doing things. It can be weird at times, as one see's through wall's sometimes, and "read's" too much of the subtle workings of so many sentient beings within a certain radius, their hungry ghosts.. etc. I've learned to control this power, or rather... just align my focus more with less crazy making sub-perceptions. When I say emptying the basis... I think it has more to do with a transmission in the secret instruction, transcending all levels of experiencing as in, emptying the experiencing of the subtle tendency to reify the super conscious levels of experiencing that happens for the most experienced practitioners... of which I am not as of yet. Just as you said it... lol. Which is what I meant when I stated a while ago about creating positive samskaras in the brain concerning these states of being that one can shift to during periods of intense negativity in order to integrate the bad into the super duper "all good" states of experiential reference. Crystal! Yes... then there is emptying that basis. First merge with the basis, then empty it with further contemplation of dependent origination/emptiness which makes it integratabtle with all levels of being from hell's to heaven's. I think which is why many masters pray to go to hell during their time of departure as to share this with hell beings. Emptying the basis at the very deepest levels of density more dense and rigid than this Earth plane.
  14. I see. Well... the Alayavijnana is I think equated with the four formless jhanas when the unconscious or deep sleep state is illumined through conscious awareness inversion (meditation). Which is where people start experiencing different levels of the Maha Shunya or Great Void as elaborated upon in various traditions.
  15. Thanks for sharing! I wonder if that can be equated with the practice of, "emptying the basis" in Mahamudra/Dzogchen? CowTao? Do you know about this reference? In my understanding it means the process of fully emptying the seeds of self identity located in the Alayavijnana stage of contemplation and experience. The Alayavijnana being a dependent arising of formless levels of self clinging, generally experienced as the un-illumined unconscious in the deep sleep state for non-meditators and non-contemplatives.
  16. Actually, all karma is empty so not inherently binding, and creating endless positive karma allows one to keep manifesting positive Nirmanakayas for the sake of endless beings. This is the key difference. We don't obliterate karma, this just leads to a transcendent ideation or absorption into a formless realm that we think transcends everything that absorbs us, either infinite nothingness or one of the others and then we just re-manifest ignorantly in the next cosmic aeon. This is one of the key differences between Mahayana and Hinayana, as well as Monist concepts of reality. There is no beyond the skandhas, we just empty them internally of the power to bind awareness. What you are talking about tulku only ends up leading you to either reifying the void as infinite nothingness, or infinite space. Or you reify the skandha of consciousness as ultimate and experience infinite consciousness without the sense of other, or you reify beyond being and non-being as neither perception nor non-perception and absorb into that thinking you are beyond karma. These are all layers of the Alayavijnana, that's all. There is no "beyond karma" (enter dramatic music), there is just realizing it's emptiness, then you are beyond karma in the sense that you have seen through it.

Reality is a process, all equally empty, both form realms and formless realms, this self liberates awareness in every moment leading to crystal clarity, known as Rigpa.
  18. Christianity, Buddhsim, Religious Taoism

You keep quoting eternalists in reference to Buddhist realization. There are no obstacles, they are all empty, Samsara is Nirvana.
  19. Christianity, Buddhsim, Religious Taoism

The unconditional that the Buddha talks about is just seeing through conditions, seeing their emptiness. There is not an absolute self standing unconditional. You need to study more Nagarjuna. It'll make experiential sense once you transcend your formless ideation.
  20. Also, certain teachers can take on various aspects of the purification process onto themselves, themselves being so deeply immersed in the fire of love and compassion... they burn it in a way that i can only theorize about. Of course like furnaces, burn wood and give back heat kind of thing. Even though... for wisdom's sake... a teacher will allow you to make your own mistakes and come to your own understanding concerning these. If a teacher is especially sensitive, they will merely help you along with loving nudges and questions that you can answer yourself from within.
  21. Right... some go from top down, some from bottom up, and some mix it up along the way. As long as balance is the end result... yer good. As we all know, spiritual progression is not a linear thing.
  22. Christianity, Buddhsim, Religious Taoism

Beyond conditions is a condition as well.
  23. Yes, it's interesting that the scientists can detect the movements in the brain vibrations when people do the brahmavihara meditations, but it's felt through the entire body and when incredibly powerful, one can feel the liquid bliss in the center of the chest area. All sorts of interesting things happen. I find the chest area can become very hot too, while internally cooling and there is this sense of open balance, grounded, yet light! Buoyant!
