  1. Plane of infinite awareness

Yes, you can untie knots in the unconscious by bringing light of awareness and virtue there before these impressions manifest through the body and the bodies environment. This is just the simplified explanation as there are so many ways or techniques and practices one can utilize for this outcome.
  2. Spiritual Development and Siddhis

Because I know it through lots of experience with people and the streets of various big cities in the USA. With insight not dependent on only the 5 senses. On this Earth, at this time, there are more dark psychics than light psychics. Hopefully that will change.
  3. Spiritual Development and Siddhis

Yes, more people actually use their siddhis to advance their selfish desires and even criminal activities than for use in spiritual pursuits.
  4. Hua Yen Buddhism.

Interesting, though the person writing the article makes a few mis-assumptions, including the idea that you have to leave your family to become a Buddha. That's only one of the many paths available in Buddhism and the Buddhas teaching as he also teaches lay-practitioners as well who can just as easily realize Buddhahood through renunciation of ignorance even while partaking in a regular family life with a job. Mahayana and Vajrayana especially go into detail that even a renunciate has to renounce renunciation.
  5. The devil and the Goddess

Ulises, This is fantastic. Thanks for this. I've also come across the same information throughout my studies, but this is very well said. Awesome!
  6. trekcho or thogal?

On top of that, you'll need transmission of Rigpa from a genuine Dzogchen master and have mastered stability in this state before even embarking on secret oral transmission of Togal practice from the same teacher or one with similar level of clarity in the realization. Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche is one of the only ones giving Rigpa transmission publicly for free, but not the only one giving the transmission to people. But, most masters will have various preliminary requirements in Vajrayana practice that might take some years to complete. Asking about these deeply subtle practices online will only lead to curiosity, but not completion... in my opinion. But, anything is possible. Alwayson is not a dog, but he's not, and none of us here are qualified to transmit such profundity. "Heart Drops of Dharmakaya" is the only book to my knowledge available to the public that talks about the secret Dzogchen practices, which most likely won't bare any complete fruit without genuine transmission of the state of Rigpa beyond concepts from a qualified Master. Just my few cents.
  7. Presence meets Ego

What Jetsun is talking about is one of the fundamental reasons why yoga, chi-gong, and meditation work. Relax and body and the mind will follow, relax the mind and the body will follow, in relaxation there is openness and receptivity.
  8. Presence meets Ego

Scientists have proof to say that mind and body are quite inter-dependent and what happens to one happens to the other in a sense. What I mean by "in a sense" as there are individual nuances dependent upon states of mind or body, as in the factors are somewhat unique and variable, but definite that the mind and body are one organism in a sense though of course, I believe the mind lasts longer and manifests new bodies, so takes precedence.
  9. Presence meets Ego

    The point of yoga!
  10. Presence meets Ego

You are free to have your opinion. I don't think your aggressively angry, one sided, linear projection of a stance towards Buddhism to be very debate worthy. Eternalism is defined as thinking that there is an eternal self sustained essence. So, it does actually have weight when it's applied correctly in that sense. And of course early Buddhism would be considered Nihilistic to materialists, as in people who use the term "natural" as an excuse to remain un-investigative. I think any path of renunciation in any tradition would be considered nihilistic to a person who is so densely body defined like yourself. But, upon deeper investigation, it is not. Also, the whole burning monk thing is not at all justified anywhere in the Buddhist cannon, neither are lots of other things that Buddhists have done. Your idea that Buddhism created social inertia in Tibet is completely unfounded as it brought many benefits and liberated many beings. But, you don't believe in Buddhahood anyway, so what's the point in talking to you about this. Vajrayana and all it's concepts elucidated in Tibet are from India where it finds it's birth place. The philosophy has not changed at all. All the source scriptures for Vajrayana are in sanskrit and from India. Only it's display changed in Tibet. You seem to focus on the parts of history that fulfills your projection of animosity towards Buddhism. There are many positive things that Buddhism did for politics in Tibet, for those that digested the teaching at least. Many of the Dalai Lamas who weren't poisoned or died young, did many, many good things for bringing the people together. The current Dalai Lama said that not all the incarnations were his though. Of course, you don't believe in re-birth either so... what's the point of going there?

I like the way you put this. It's a metaphor for a much more abstract idea. Basically, what you kill, is your attachment to these algorithms as essential self. For some people, kill could be the wrong word to use. I like the term, "transform" via Vajrayana or "self liberate" via Dzogchen much better. That is true in a sense, but there is definitely a process of alignment, creating deeper and subtler goals for the ego to focus on like coaxing it towards the end of a cliff before it discovers that the cliff was already an endless abyss and no coaxing was necessary, just recognition. As a Buddha said, "Attachment to dependent origination/emptiness, eventually empties attachment." I completely agree. Terms are defined internally and certain terms are necessary at different times for different people and some terms are not needed ever for some people. It's all relative. I do agree that the idea of, "killing" the ego is rather extreme, black and white, somewhat intense, but sometimes it helps. It did for me, for a while there... that idea was very good for my particular psychology during the 90's.
  12. Presence meets Ego

They mean the ego doesn't have inherent existence and is only relative to ones idea and experience of oneself. When they say kill the ego, they mean to kill the identity with limited self reference.
  13. Presence meets Ego

You can read all you want, but if you don't have the capacity to understand, then you're not really reading anything other than your own projections. You might think that because you read something, you understood it, and what you think about it, is the absolute truth of it. It isn't. For the umpteenth time... You don't rid yourself of your selfhood. This is what I mean, you just don't want to drop your misunderstanding, it's stuck in your head and it won't come out! All you do in Buddhism is expand your selves resources for information to an infinite paradigm... really. Your self becomes transparent and translucent, clear and open, instead of rock hard and rigid, like Bronte Baxter. Yes, but you don't know what "awake" means, even conceptually... from the Buddha (awake) perspective at least. But, that intention of offering will bare fruit and help you along your way, that's awesome that you do pray for all beings. I do to a degree greater than your own. I've conceded to well worded arguments revealing my ignorance concerning Taoism on this board. When I was Hindu, I did the same when it came to Buddhism, which was painful at first and scary too. I did project much of the same "crap" that you now project onto it, but then I realized how full of crap I was.... got humbled, and conceded to a greater view in Buddhism. No, the guy you quoted, Bronte Baxter did. Who's perspective I assume you agree with, otherwise you wouldn't have quoted from him?
  14. Tianjin Eco-City of China

I read about it through my yahoo, and I like the idea! I don't like the government of China at all, but... whatever. The idea of the city is great.
  15. Akashic Records

This is not always true. Actually, there are plenty of miracles or magic that can happen in front of a disciple who has the capacity to see such things from his Buddhist Master. I've definitely experienced various types of miracles from masters, both Hindu and Buddhist.
  16. Presence meets Ego

You are expressing the exact way you've treated everything I've said, from the very beginning. Everything you've read from me, fell on deaf ears which completely misunderstood the gist of everything I've ever said with little attempt to even try to understand it seems. Just project, project, project. You've never been open, or willing to see from another perspective. You've never really read any of my posts, nor have you ever really read Buddhism or Hinduism or for that matter, because the level of your self projection is too strong. You don't have the capacity to understand Buddhism, if you don't even have the capacity to understand Hinduism. I think you lack this capacity based upon everything you've written here, including what you quoted in this thread, because that guy's perspective is just whacked! Actually, the poor fellow lacks any kind of intuitive intelligence. "The Hidden Agenda of Mantra Meditation"......??? More like the hidden agenda of the western ego plastered all over his take on things. EDIT: After re-reading from Bronte Baxter, I've changed my mind, the guy is actually quite stupid. Poor mind, to be stuck in such an underdeveloped brain. It's sad that he suckers people into his Western Ego (Me, me, me) perspective. One that has become increasingly clear that you share, and will hold onto for dear life! "Whaaaaa... Me, me, me, me", "Buddhism challenges the sense of self which I've been brainwashed to believe in and this makes me feel fear, so there must be something inherently wrong with Buddhism." Everyone has their capacity, it's a good thing yours is at least spiritual. You have the capacity for Taoism, so I wish you well on that, and I hope your ego lessons, as it's made only of fear of the unknown. Since you don't have the capacity to understand Buddhism, it is part of the unknown that you fear.
  17. Presence meets Ego

Nice joke! You know that's not true.
  18. The Brain that Changes Itself

Hi Kate, Now that I got my own ego off my chest. Based on direct experience, I do agree with you... deeply. I would like to come at you with less sharpness. I do see where I am wrong. Thank you for being a teacher of that for me. I need to lighten up in a certain way, even if I am in other ways. There's always more malleability for me to research about myself. So, thanks to you.
  19. Plane of infinite awareness

Eh, I don't want to get too high on myself. Praise and blame is all the same. But... I hope to have the courage to embrace responsibility better. I know I've touched certain people very deeply, just as I've been touched by others. But, at the same time, I know I've touched some with as much hurt as I've been given. I'm still on the path! Even if I jump off every once in a while, it's to understand why the path exists with even more clarity. So... Love right back at cha buddy. Let the goodness envelope you so that it is your only inner experience even if aware of that which seems apposed to this peace.
  20. Presence meets Ego

    Brilliant!
  21. Plane of infinite awareness

That's good that this is the only spectrum you're aware of in reference to psychic powers. My problem is that I pushed my bodhichitta down in order to connect to those... "down" folks. Big mistake. So... I ignore through a state of happiness that they don't understand and mis-interpret as energetic hostility. They are just too "damned" confused, and I'm not enlightened enough to deal with this level of responsibility at this point in my life. So, I'll continue to ignore, stay high on my own breath and accept that this light is merely illuminating their own closet, interpreted as hostility? Wow... the mental mess of the masses conditioned by popular culture. Please... go infinite!! Keep up the good work Phore!! I wish you crazy amounts of blessings!!
  22. Presence meets Ego

No, really I apologize for maybe being too harsh. It's just I feel like you fake read, without any openness. It's like you don't care to take in anything related to you for the sake of clarity and help. Which I honestly felt from my heart I did with the upmost respect. But, it's like you are too deep into your ego and it's notions to care to open up. You get an emotional feeling and you just identify with it, and your mind works out intellectual justifications for it's existence, and you stand there, supporting it... as if it's the ultimate truth. I worked to help you correct your total misunderstanding for quite some time now, and nothing has sunk through the layers of your completely subjective projections... so... I talked about you as if you weren't here, in a kind of final attempt. But... alas. So... yes... Be well! Just... do your Taoist thing and evolve through that paradigm... this would be very good and add to my joy very much!! Just stop going around damning Buddhism, because you really, and honestly have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to Buddhism. This whole idea of, "I feel fear, so something must be wrong." Is just a reflection of your lack of self examination and nothing more. Peace.
  23. Plane of infinite awareness

Psychic powers are mostly annoying to me. I much prefer talking to people in physical presence than anything, that way there is a clear visceral energetic exchange with body awareness incorporated into the mental plane level of awareness, and spiritual experience. But yes... I can also do this, but I don't have to use the methods. I just make the intention to do so and it happens. I wish you well.. always connect to lineage masters, that's the best!
  24. Presence meets Ego

I won't tell you about interenpendancy, but maybe about inter-dependency?
