But what if you are doing deeds simply to get ahead? This is how I define "brownie points". Bringing doughnuts to work to impress your coworkers, giving the boss a gratuitous, undeserved compliment, speaking up to take credit for the sake of making themselves look good, doing good deeds only when someone is watching and the such. You know the type. Call me cynical, but time after time I have seen these brown nosers get the promotion or the perks of the job while us taoists sit back and smile at others getting credit for our work. I'd be lying if I said I never got pissed off watching ass kissers get all the breaks while decent folks get shit on (pardon the language). Some are genuine in their actions. In my society most are doing it for personal gain. In fact, I believe that we all must kiss a little ass and promote ourselves better than others just to survive in the job market. Are you doing it because you expect to get rewarded in some way? Or are you doing it because that is just your nature?

Check out this affordable biofeedback system Wild Divine System Edit I just bought one on ebay for $60.00! Way too cool. It is a video game you control through biofeedback with instruction from Deepak Chopra. -
Wow! That opens up a can of worms. This poor child needs help. Help if you can, but you must sever all romantic and sexual feelings. Tough love may be the best. If it were me, I would keep my distance and only offer help if it meant sobriety.

Sorry. I think I misunderstood your question. No I have not tried the iphone programs. I have the Nero- Programmer2 which has hundreds of programs and allows you to customize them or even create your own from scratch. What are they calling these programs? -
Thank you Mantis for reviving this. It was very entertaining. And also great to hear from Father Paul from the grave.

Interpreting tao in my life situation.

I think they are invaluable to beginning meditators to quickly get it. Experienced meditators can use it to control where they want to go and what they want to accomplish. Alpha puts you in a light meditative state conducive to suggestions and visualizations. Theta is for deep meditation and connection to the subconscious. Beta has been proven to boost I.Q. Not much research has been done with gamma brainwaves, but it is found that Tibetan monks emit loads of gamma when doing supernatural stuff like melting the snow around them with their body heat. If you are interested in a certain program, let me know and I will shoot one your way. -
In my culture it is kind of expected to be monogamous when you enter a serious relationship, unless you are both in the swinger lifestyle. The right thing should have been for her to discuss it first, giving him an explanation why. Then a choice can be made by both. Sneaking sex behind a person's back can be very dangerous. Did she have an eye on your checkbook too? I would get checked for STD's if you haven't already

Here you go: ADHD file Alpha file To use these files, you must find a comfortable place to sit and not be disturbed. Try to be as relaxed as possible. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Scan your body for tension. Work this tension out the best you can as entrainment works best when you are fully relaxed. Then put your headphones/earbuds on and turn on your player. Close your eyes and draw your attention to the pulses. Don't concentrate too hard, just relax and listen to them. Do not attach yourself to any thoughts, just look at them as "only thoughts" and let them fade away. HEADPHONES MUST BE USED WITH THESE SESSIONS. THE ADHD SESSION YOU MUST HAVE THE CORRECT RIGHT/LEFT SPEAKERS ON YOUR EARS The ADHD session speeds up the left hemisphere with beta waves while focusing the right with SMR waves. It is very important to have the correct sounds to each ear. The alpha program is an anxiety reduction session that offsets the pulses slightly to each ear. This has been shown to help those with "chattery" minds. It is not necessary to have the correct R/L, but I would keep them the same for a while, and maybe try switching them if you are having trouble entraining. I would use the ADHD session exclusively 2X a day every day for a few weeks, then start working in some alpha sessions. If you can't do 2, then do 1. If you can't do a whole session, that's O.K. too. If you feel your mind racing, relax, you are still benefiting. If you feel your ADHD getting worse, it may mean you need your prescription adjusted. Check with your Dr. P.M. me if you have any specific questions. -
Even the largest storms don't last forever. The sun will shine upon you once again very soon.

Interpreting tao in my life situation.

When I started meditating a year ago, I was on antidepressants and drugs for restless leg syndrome. I also was drinking a lot and have had 2 previous DUI's. After starting my path of the Tao, I stumbled on this site and the posters convinved me to start a seated meditation routine. Within a month, the RLS seemed to get worse. The fact was that the medication was too strong. I stopped taking them and the RLS was gone!! Then I stopped taking antidepressants with no ill effect. I no longer feel the desire to drink to excess. If I do drink, 1 or 2 are fine, although on a few occasions I have looped one on (when I didn't have to drive). I too used to work in a busy kitchen 10-12 hours a day (I am recently unemployed), so I feel your time restraint. Another side effect of the meditation is that it lowered my need for sleep. I feel fine on just 4-6 hours, where before I needed 8-10 to feel 100% I would meditate for 20 minutes on my lunch break (who needs to eat on your lunch break when you are the cook!), this reduced the stress level from working in a pressure cooker. Then again before I went to bed. This helped me get a good nights sleep. I am a big fan of brainwave entrainment. BWE has been scientifically proven to help with ADHD. It also puts you in a meditative state effortlessly. If you are interested, I can post a few programs in MP3 format you can try. -

Meditation will help greatly with alcohol dependence. If you are not meditating yet, start today. Two 20 minute sessions a day should do it. -
Not true. We can do what we feel is right. That takes guts. I am not a fan of the American political system. Politicians tell you anything what you want to hear to get elected, then dance around and do whatever they want. George W. is a prime example of what every president has done so far. The saving grace is that it encourages change. The people have spoken, and things will change.

Is Chi Something You Can feel?
Bum Grasshopper replied to The Genuine Article's topic in General Discussion
You can also see chi as an aura emanating around the body, especially around the head and hands. -
I trained with such a "traditional teacher" that if you showed "disrespect" he promptly drilled your ass to the ground and demonstrated some painful technique. Such "disrespect" could be not shouting the proper SHIHAN REA! when he entered the dojo to as little as looking directly in his eyes by accident. Yes, we were afraid of directly attacking him seriously because he would seriously attack us big time. You showed "respect" by making him look good. When I trained BJJ, you could go at whoever you wanted full force with all you got. Those better than you simply brushed you off, then either tapped you out or taught you what you were doing wrong, then tapped you out. Yes, I have had a few that just wanted to beat up on someone, but when others saw this behavior, they got their turn. I learned more in 6 months doing BJJ than I did in 6 years in "traditional" martial arts.

I found a good source for bulk products here: Bentonite Clay Psyllium seed powder I have not ordered those specific products yet, but I have purchased their Siberian ginseng and I found it to be a quality product.

Trouble is our enemies are celebrating too. Sometimes a little intimidation is necessary. We will just have to wait and see.

Who Here Meditates At Least 1 Hour Every Day?
Bum Grasshopper replied to mwight's topic in General Discussion
I do a half hour during my lunch break, and another before going to bed. If you count Kunlun as meditation, then an additional 4 hours per week. -
Brainwave entrainment against eating disorder
Bum Grasshopper replied to markern's topic in General Discussion
But it can't hurt either. When I started meditation and entrainment a year ago, it was not my intention to stop drinking. A "side affect" was that I rarely find the urge to drink to excess anymore. Meditation helps you connect to your true self, not to mention stress and anxiety reduction. I am sure this woman was not born with an eating disorder. It is self destructive, and most don't want to get better. Entrainment is a tool that helps one get quick results reaching specific brainwave states. If you can convince her to start meditating for other reasons, quite possibly you can help her with her eating disorder without her knowing it! -
Brainwave entrainment against eating disorder

Just click here: Accelerated growth mp3 Your computer should have some kind of player to play it, or you can burn it to a cd, or download into a mp3 player or ipod. If we had more time, yes you would start entraining to alpha, then theta programs before attempting delta. It sounds to me the situation is quite desperate, so just jump right into it. Just instruct her to relax as much as possible, and guide her attention to the pulses. Don't concentrate, just relax and try not to attach to other thoughts. She will probably fall asleep the first few times, that is O.K. she will still be getting benefit. Delta entrainment is much easier with light goggles. If you have them, we will have to find a way to post a wav file, as my mp3 encoder corrupts the audiostrobe track -

An accelerated growth session in the delta range would be a good place to start. This session uses a known "window frequency" of 1.05 Hz to release hGH, promoting accelerated growth, regeneration and other anti-aging properties. I can post a mp3 of one if you wish.
