12 reasons to say "Holy Crap"

If someone could tell me how, I will gladly post them! -
There ARE good people in the world. Max is one of them. I am one of them too! Yes! If you cut your head off you will find the Tao! But that will not be in the way of the Tao. Take a deep breath, smile, be glad you are alive. Congrats, you have found the Tao. Think about it.

I have noticed that you put a lot of emphasis on sitting in the full lotus position. Being a western as you, how long did it take you achieve such a sitting posture? Myself, sitting cross legged for more than 15 minutes is enough to draw me out of any meditative state. Was it the process of achieving such a posture as is yoga? Or Martial arts? Or did you find that after a period of sitting that way that things just seemed to happen? I am truly curious on how sitting in a fashion can make such a huge difference. How do I begin to assume such a position whilst meditating ?

Yes, but at times you can post a question or something hoping for a reply, and in an hour it is bumped to the second or third page because of the kunlun chatter.

umm... what exactly is taking so long with the kunlun forum idea? even if mantra's not ready to start one on his site, why can't it at least be a sub-forum like the book club thing? Agreed. Sometimes I want to read about Kunlun, sometimes not. A separate forum would be nice.

Possibly Max would like to re visit his home state of Michigan! Ann Arbor would be a good comprise between Chicago and Detroit.

Cool analogy Joe! Every molecule vibrates. Get all your molecules to vibrate up and you will levitate!!

Why is there so much evil in the world?
Bum Grasshopper replied to Gerard's topic in General Discussion
Agreed. If you are experiencing pain, it is a strong message something is wrong and must be corrected. Evil is a judgment. To Americans, Osama Bin Ladin is evil. To the Taliban, he is a saint. Different sides to the same coin. -
If I define who I am, I will be wrong. If you define who I am, you will be wrong. Who I am is a judgment. Then who is the judge? I am trying not to judge, just to be.

Thanks cam. I'll mark it on the calander

Where? I don't even know when!

Details please! I would very much like to attend. I saw no info on the Kunlun site.

Brainwave entrainment for Kunlun
Bum Grasshopper replied to Bum Grasshopper's topic in General Discussion
Glad you are having fun! I use headphones because I don't want to disturb the other occupants of the house. I put the wires behind my head and they don't cause much trouble unless I'm getting some Ray Charles like movements and the headphones slide off my ears. A quick adjustment doesn't distract too much from the experience. I mixed the track so that it seems like the sound is originating in your head, your ni-wan, when using headphones for added benefit. I find that I get different responses each day to the frequencies. The energy starts almost immediately and I get different results as the frequencies step up. Almost always, my head feels numb and tingly after words as if I've been sleeping on a vibrator! -
Brainwave entrainment for Kunlun

Mal, this track uses isocronic tones that do not require headphones, but must be at sufficient volume to produce entrainment. Might be a problem at 3AM I based the time according to the suggested 1 hour meditation, adding a bit for the warm up. The ramp down is about 10 minutes, so I use this, then sit quietly for another 10 minutes, giving me a 1:20 meditation. I have since tweaked the track a bit, softening the horn alert (was startling) and I refined the harmonics for a smoother ramp up. I ended the session at 10hz, the same frequency as the Earth's core. I am currently working on a mind programming track to get you through the 100 days. When I get that, I can possibly post the new version, and maybe scale down a short session. -
I treat anger as I would a thought in meditation. Acknowledge it, sense what it is doing, and look at it in the third person seeing it as it really is- an emotion, and it will pass. Later you can reflect and analyze.

Brainwave entrainment for Kunlun

Everything a Taoist needs to know about the Schumann Resonance is found here: Schumann Resonance Interesting stuff. This electromagnetic field around the Earth can be viewed as a stiff jelly. When our bodies move and vibrate, these movements are transmitted to the environment, and vice versa. These fields not only impinge on our bodies, they also affect the charges inside our bodies. When we are standing on the ground, under normal conditions, we are grounded. Our body then acts as a sink for the electrostatic field and actually distorts the force-lines somewhat. The human body also has its own electrostatic field about itself. There is a harmonic relationship between the Earth and our mind/body. Earth's low-frequency iso-electric field, the magnetic field of the Earth and the electrostatic field which emerges from our body are closely interwoven. Our internal rhythms interact with external rhythms, affecting our balance, REM patterns, health, and mental focus. SR waves probably help regulate our bodies' internal clocks, affecting sleep/dream patterns, arousal patterns and hormonal secretion (such as melatonin). On a slower scale, a strong influence on the Earth is its geomagnetic field, which is influenced by the following periods: the Moon's rotation (29.5 days); the Earth's rotation (365.25 days); sunspot cycles (11 or 22 years); the nutation cycle (18.6 years); the rotation of the planets (88 days to 247.7 years); and the galaxy's rotation cycle (250 million years). Very important rhythms, like hormone secretion and dominant nostril exchange, are in the order of 1-2 hours. In the range of human EEG, we have the Sun's electromagnetic oscillation of 10 Hz, while the Earth/ionosphere system is resonant at frequencies in the theta, alpha, beta-1 (low or slow) and beta-2 (high or fast) bands. -

Since Kunlun is said to boost your magnetic potential, I have based my program on the Schumann Resonance (the same frequency or the Earth's magnetic field) and it's harmonics. It takes you down to theta and steps up through alpha, beta, high beta, finally gamma before ramping down to SMR. The tests given in the Pillars book are indicative to the gamma state (drying wet cloths in winter on your back, producing steam from snow by rubbing on body). It says that EEG tests done on Max show high gamma activity. So far I am pleased with the results of using the track during Kunlun practice. I look forward to hearing other's experiences. -

30 minutes in gamma is a lot to start out with. I can only take 5- 10 min before I start bouncing off the wall. Sorry about your job and stuff. Let me know when your headset is finished. Sounds cool.
