Your vote for the most emotionally intense films?
Bum Grasshopper replied to Encephalon's topic in The Rabbit Hole
The Deer Hunter. The whole movie is an emotional roller coaster, but this is the most powerful scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqakCa-MysE -
Try dropping or raising your heels slightly until they start bouncing. Also rocking back and forth or spiraling at the waist. The practice is all about letting go. Relax and just let things happen. Give it some time.

Can you elaborate on how the online course is conducted?

With all the health claims for apple cider vinegar I just wondered the TCM take on it.

"Somewhere in time" (1980) is a movie ...
Bum Grasshopper replied to exorcist_1699's topic in General Discussion
Which, according to quantum physics is possible. The movie incidentally was filmed on Mackinac Island, one of my favorite vacation destinations. -
For sure he will show us how he can do the splits.

A Las Vegas show fight, not in UFC or Pride or anything like that. Reminds me of when Mohammad Ali fought the wrestler Antonio Inoki in Japan.

Cool stuff. Looking forward to the release of your Burning Palm DVD! -
Nope. According to the Tao Te Ching it's moving away from the Tao. Guess that sums up my opinion of the practice.

Isn't it obvious? -
Correct. BWE by itself is not NLP, but rather a tool to get better, quicker results. Entrainment + visualizations/recorded scripts and affirmations= NLP
-
Not a problem. You can use any BWE track. There are a lot of free ones you can download off the net. Alpha programs are for visualizations. After about 10 minutes listening to such a track, you should be in an alpha state. Visualize yourself in the third person, as if watching a movie. Theta tracks are much longer, as it takes the mind longer to reach a theta state. You must find a way to add recorded scripts/affirmations to whatever track you are using, or have some other player play them about a half hour into the session. Listen to the words, but do not try to analyze them. Too much mental activity (such as visualizing) will bring you out of a theta state. Just listen to the words, and try not to fall asleep. This is not subliminal, but doing such programming just before sleep has been found to be more effective.

I am a brainwave entrainment enthusiast and have used software from Transparent Corp for mind programming. If you are not familiar with BWE, it uses pulsing tones and/or light flashes to guide your mind to specific brainwave states. When the mind is in a receptive state (alpha or theta) you use visualizations, recorded hypnotic scripts or affirmations to program your mind (subconscious). For instance, a user would guide their mind to an alpha state. They then visualize themselves in the outfield making the perfect defensive play while at the same time slapping their glove and smelling the leather. The entrainment then puts them in a beta state, the state that they will be in in that situation. The next day the person is in the outfield. They slap their glove and smell the leather, instantly putting them "in the zone". The ball is hit to them when they make the perfect catch and accurate throw, just as they visualized it. I have found this to be very effective, even after only one use. It can be used for just about anything from changing bad habits to erasing traumatic memories. Not true. Meditation and energy practices are a form of mental programming. As stated, you can use mental programming for just about anything.

Interview with Chunyi Lin of Spring Forest Qigong
Bum Grasshopper replied to sean's topic in Interviews
I just did some brainwave entrainment while charting some biofeedback, namely heart rate and skin conductance. Just for giggles, I tried some reverse breathing. Low and behold, my heart rate and skin conductance dropped while doing it! Skin conductance continued to fall (indicating a relaxation response) as long as I kept it up. When I returned to regular breathing, both heart rate and conductance went up. Interesting. -

A cat is a predator. It's their nature to kill birds. Nobody taught it to kill birds, it did not grow up impoverished and misguided, nor did it join a political group that hates birds and just wants to kill them. It is in their nature to kill birds, mice, moles and such. It is the way of the Tao. Is it man's nature to harm helpless animals on impulse? Is that the way of the Tao? Reminds me of a parable where a monk was trying to save a scorpion that had fallen in a river and was drowning. Every time he would try to scoop him up, the scorpion would sting him and the monk would drop him, only to scoop him back up and get stung again. A passerby witnessed this and said "You fool. Why are you trying to save this scorpion when it continually stings you. Why don't you just let it drown?" To which the monk replied "Because it is the scorpions nature to sting. It is my nature to save helpless creatures."

Don't know. I've been waiting patiently for a year now. It seemed to be close a couple of months ago when he started his new web site Warrior body, Buddah Body but I am still waiting.

Taken Tai Chi classes with Taoist Tai Chi Society?
Bum Grasshopper replied to 000's topic in General Discussion
I took Taoist Tai Chi for a spell. It is the only tai chi school in my area. It was very affordable, the social network was great and they had a lot of organized trips to China and other seminars. The instructors were merely long time students and they had no back up media such as DVD's or books so you could continue your training at home. And as stated, the form is so different from the existing media out there, you either had to go to class or nothing. It may be a good starting point for you. You can always move on if other opportunities are available. -
