I have recently gone through one of the more shocking events in my life... A friend of mine tried to kill himself with a large butcher-knife to the chest last Tuesday morning. I was outside when he came to the door and said "I want to die"...to me and a neighbor -who I was happily talking with about the super-bowl at the time...with the knife in his chest already. I told him not to move and leapt to stop him from pulling out the knife. I had to yell at the neighbor a few times to get him off his knees and call 911 Of course when a cop showed up he went for his gun 'cause there was a guy with a knife in his chest being restrained by another guy-(me)... I yelled at thim to get the medical unit and then we picked up my friend wrapped him in gauze and got him in the ambulance... The neighbor gave me a beer to chug and the cops told me I had saved his life.... I feel as if I was placed near him for that "catch" to keep him alive...Did I interfere with his kharma? I acted as I thought best for him... He is alive and in hospital for treatment that will eventually be mostly psychological... I sometimes think of him as someone who's monkey mind rules them mercilessly...but he has moments of real joy yet to come... I did wonder for a moment if that is what he wanted ... he did try to kill himself and I stopped him from completing the act. I did it with little thought but to save his life, without any thought that that would be a bad idea...

My 1st question would be -how can we be of assistance to you? Then we will all have to deal with translations of all & any of these esoteric things, which are very hard to understand -particularly at first...We will need the "magic" of oneness to build a bridge that will last through the many unknown changes ahead. A meeting of minds is usually part of the growth that amounts to possitive change -when people aren't talking and learning from eachother ignorance will lead to strife, even where brotherhood could have been nurtured...So I hope this grows!!!

I am not a huge sports fan in general, not since the age of 12 or so- still the Giants win made me very excited and happy as if I was 12 again... I also won a huge coors beer mirror and a t-shirt as door prizes where I watched the game -(local bar)... So I won thrice over and had a wonderful time too... YAY !!! The GIANTS make their own history... and the last few games were so much fun to watch - win or loose-& they WON!!! even sweeter still...

This thread is very refreshing in a way...we're each being clear and open with each other We are trying to share very esoteric experiences among ourselves, and share themn with the wider cyber-world as well... Many of these experiences are hard to fathom, and hard to explain, even amongst those who have some shared experiences...We can't even all agree on many definitions of the experiences of what we are trying to communicate... Patience is needed amongst ourselves, and I for one, have very little, I appologize for that, but sobeit...My strength seems to be a (drat) lawyerly one, that I can see both sides of an issue and take sides as I think it is in my way or self interest, or moral imperitive... whatever the impitus, we each have our reasons to react and to address the issues here as elsewhere... I admire many aspects of your thinking Buddy as I do with so many here. I guess when we are each unknowing of ourselves, eachother and the Tao that binds us much of the time...or else there would be nothing to say... otherwise we would all just laugh and smile and breath deeply of the moment... maybe next week after the GIANTS UPSET THE PATRIOTS we can all laugh at the follies of our species...

Geez Buddy yr hubris is just astounding. As you note, you have scant following here because you exhibit few traits worth emulating. You may be honest, as in you say what you believe to be true, but yr truths are not universal. Few are. Many of us question the varacity and direction of the various groups, cults or organizations whos' members are populating this site from time to time. You are not a leader in this effort. We each express our selves as we see fit, and you are very forthright in yr expressions.. I will not insult you by saying you are probably a nice guy. I for one detest "niceness"... It is usually hollow and a weak front for societal acceptence -Bah- We are what we are. Sean has us well in hand as a moderator /web-master ... We follow his lead in how this forum is run... There are many here seeking leadership and knowledge, your knowledge could be a boon to them, I hope that yr delivery doesn't always get in the way of what it is that you offer here.

TaoMeow - That was very well put. I've been trying to relate my experiences of feeling "at one" with nature, animals other humans - yes being real is an apt way to say it ... I get (what I call) qi energy, when practicing martial arts while trying to tap into it , but before I began training, I was able to feel completely strong and at one with the world around me...being at ease and "rooted to the earth", ( in a very phisical almost magnetic attraction to the ground)- and the whole of life around me the feeling has always been very real to me, and I think of it as qi and I can "tap into" it when I need to,,, The energy that binds us together and is part of each of us... can be shared and nurtured and even spoken of between us. Being aware of past lives, our own and other various types of spirits, even useing the vast powers within us is all doable for some. With training and practice and our own inner light as a basis for activity... Then the path of least resistence becomes easier and easier to follow, giving up attachments as you go/grow... This may not even be the same energy that Chinese practitioners call qi but it is what I think of as qi... I'm sure some here will differ also...

I am happy that Sean D. has at least-(at last)- learned how to comport himself in a civilized manner of late. If his training has helped him become a more fair-minded and less rude person to those he discusses these issues with, than of course all the many thousands of $$$ were well worth it . Seekers are many, & those who may be able to help them are pretty many as well. Lets hope they find each other and the world becomes a better place in which to live . I for one would never pay someone else to help me find what is inherently mine to begin with, and intrinsically by its very nature something I need no help in finding. In fact I believe most "help" would be counter productive in many instances... Stop striving and let yrself become naturally whole, almost letting yrself heal in a way, stay healthy and open to change and practice all and any systems that seem apt to improve yr path-finding. I'm trying to simplify my life. mYTHmAKER YES!!! YOU said it all right there!!! As we adapt and try what ever we reason-out that we need to do as an adjustment ... I note that as our world changes, yet again so we adapt -yet again that is a reactive ride on these changes I am not so sure this is the best response to this influx... I say we should learn how to surf this tide of newbies not catagorize the flotsom...We can surf this influx like the wave it feels like to me... a Tsunami of fine folks and yes, some flotsam, a typical and natural washing in of a tide... I say it aint broke -we just have some tidal debree when Kunlun hit the cross rip and the lagoon got over fished, so the baracuddas swam in here, hey whatever metaphore ya want we are awash in new people and attitudes and some of its rougher waves seemed unproductive in where the energy went etc... Lets spend our energies wisely not in haste nor worry.. I actually thought that as Taoists, we'd have no fear of change and whistle our way past the broken bridges without loosing our tune nor our tempo... I'm out of watery metaphores see ya round ...

If we can express & share various experiences of something and be understood , then it would seem that these shared experiences are imperically real enough to be shared in conversation and related to... What is IS...it has been named and developed for centuries... why do you doubt the obvious understanding of chi expressed in these threeads? Imagination plays no part in the experiences we describe as qi/chi related. Namaste-
