Well & good -but Mals' entry on yr site is very possitive and he has done the work... It could be that Kunlun will not be as benificial for each individual, no system is. .. But if it works for beginners and helps anyone at all, and does no harm, then It may very well be a system that is viable and tryable... Science can not explain what I have seen Grand Masters of ShaoLin do... Nor many things that have happened to me personally, emperically to use others' phrasiology...So I keep open to the prospect of an easy way to get blissed-out, it isn't as good as SCUBA nor sex for me- but I am not a spiritualistic maven of any sort. I want to be on all levels of existence not just the blissed-out ones...I do not seek nervanha, though having Peace of mind is a great state of being for any moment by moment existance... enjoy, live a little before you train to die, then live a little more training to die, if ya want a jump-start on the here-after... live dangerously!

As an American I don't expect to get that kind of news reporting-usually pretty local... Also, The Russians just have lousy news service... as do the Chinese... there are lots of Tiger attacks reported in India & when I was in Singapore - a truck driver was eaten by a Tiger just a few miles from the city... Where humans incroache on habitate -the animals will get restive, as well as hungry. Here incentral NJ I see eagles, falcons and other raptors quite often as well as blue herons and turkeys... they just don't have anywhere else to go... -

When it comes to being eaten alive, there are the BIG fear creators -like lions and tigers and bears, the watery ones like sharks and Crocs-but to me its the little ones, the paraniahs and army ants that I wouldn't want to get me... being nickled and dimed to death by small fry has just got to suck eggs... Sorry to waste this fine thread about Max's early years by leading us into fear mongering with the omnivorous (us encluded!!) appitites of various critters, but hey we go where we go when we're in he flow... -

When I first became aware of Kunlun-here at the Taobums, I thought it was a hoax... Then I began to hear such happy reports of success and bliss, that I began to be very suspicous -as these were the sorts of terms that the Guru Maharaji touted in his BS... Then I had an urge to believe... as people I trust here at the Bums began to say possitive things about the practice... I remain mostly sceptical -but also have an open mind as to its possibilities as reported... Interested & doubtful in a nutshell...But the negativism from this thread seems out of place -unless it were from practitioners who felt betrayed and mis-lead... that I could easily accept... but from a nonparticapatory sideline it is not useful...to me- -
Today my goal is to get my head around the idea that the Tao is a pathway that binds all, everything, any, each, as well as nothing, in a cosmic unity... As If It is some sort of universal nervous system... and then realize that aspect is only one small aspect of the Tao and not the Tao we allude to here... If I can put my mind into that greater concept for a while I will be quite happy... Tomorrow I will think of places to fish in the spring...

Is this related to saving the Polar Bears!? I want to save the polar bears too, not just be blissed-out and argue about being blissed out...NOr do I wish to have these negative vibes coming at me about being blissed-out why can't we follow our paths without rancor? wuzzittuyaz!? -

I sing all day long, from shower to bed, hum whistle play harmonica, I am usually emiting some sort of tune into the air around me... I may try to stop and see what not singing is like sometime... But in fact when I am doing my meditative and breathing exercises, I don't sing...I go for as silent and breath-oriented state as possible... hummmmm....

-I've found that lips & tounges do a pretty good job too

For me, there is an oximoran in the expression "unconditional" anything... IF We live in the now, the conditions are part of the experience and an important factor in what is needed from us... I understand that love can be manifested by the will of the lover... but then it seems a very conditioned response indeed, but otherwise - the love that manifests without effort has the purity at least in my experience- We love those whom we love easily, because of how they make us feel...-loving... It is what people bring out in/from us that creates the relationships we live within... The constant fulness of unconditional love seems to be a false concept for the most part. One that only the truely evolved could muster. Who are we to assume that we can also attain such levels of enlightenment?.. . Tis possible over several lifetimes I hear, but for us each to assume that possibility here and now seems a huge leap forward on an evolutionary level... Away from our animal natures and towards the "godhead" as it were... That may be what we seek within to attain in its purest sense, only a few will be there this time around... Perhaps the percentages are better amongst the Bums though we tend to be trying pretty hard as a demographic !!!

This spat reminds me of mine with Denty last year; and even tho I received many emails of support that felt good back then, it is now a point of embarrassment for me... So I will be wizardly in my clarvoyance and predict that next year you guys will realize how ill spent yr time was in this thang... Having something to prove often means that you do not indeed "have it" in the first place... And besides, if it is only what you are able to glean from being with masters that matters to you, then what do they get out of it? Experiences are shared in that instance - as well as here with the Bums. We are sharing and exploring. So it may be that the out-ranking means so very little in what we do as to be silly in the first place. I for one have scant interest in Kunlun, but would like to meet Max and get a sense of his "vibe" nontheless... A quick path has never appealed to me -I tend to walk or take a train these days -I am not in a hurry, so Kunlun has probably little to offer me -We will each get where it is we are meant to get to and being where we are while we make our way offers so much that little else matters to me these days... but hey-have fun with this as ya may... it too will pass... (I hope)

I have seldom lived with a working TV since 1974- when I was 20...Don't have one now -but I do run movies on my VCR- Also while at meals from a chair...I have a collection of 1,700+ films on VCR and enjoy them emmensly. Joshua Then & Now is my current fav to suggest-since few have seen it and Alan Arkin steals it brilliently...In such a case, stealing is a virtue-so I have not strayed so far from the thread... enjoy yr virtues as ye may -but those supposed sins (sez who!?)...may be interesting as well...
-
For me at this time I find open-mindedness to be a great virtue. It allows us to ask the right and wrong of any situation and come up with the virtueous path through consideration and any other in-put,This may be from our hearts, guts or TV news -if one is so enclinded...- I for one have not watched TV news in a very long time Which is to say being openminded may also preclude taking in biased and slanted views as being true or seriously considered of themselves... Gleaning truth not deciding it before ample consideration... As there is little of morality in most dogma and belief belies actual being often enough...

How about - Cockroaches scamper tiny marks on wind blown sand A new path made clear

A belief is a vivid hope or fear, and the origin of folly... A wise person goes by knowledge, not hope or fear... This is one of the Taoist quotes I chose for the beginning of my book of sonnets - http://www.lulu.com/pdgart -which Sean has so kindly added to our banners here) it still rings true... Enjoy the search for knowledge my friends, it is one of the greatest ways to spend yr time ...

I read it (in English )-= about 30 years ago and remember it as very interesting but I can't say what has stuck with me thus far... if anything... too long ago to put it in reference- I watch almost no TV for the past twenty years -have I been missing much? maybe so!
