I guess I should have mentioned this before as this thread has such positive feed-back & good humor... Every day I make tea in a coffee-maker... I slice up a large chunk of ginger, -probobly a few ounces at least, put it in the pot & let the hot H2O steep it for a couple hours. Seperatly I make another pot of green tea with honey. I squeeze two limes into that after it has steeped and then combine all elements and shake 'em - I prefer this mix chilled... The purpose of seperation is saturation. Tea won't steep in lime infused H2O - And I want the ginger to have no competition gaining a purchase in the H2O ! I also swallow one small 10 cc- bottle of ginsing with my vits in the AM... PS- Blasto that was great!!! PPS -what could one possibly have against name-tags... Apres-orgy they are quite useful!

I had a heck of a lot of fun on this thread... drug-free kicks. I sure hope no ones' feelings were hurt through this stufff....Most of it seemed pretty whimsical....Starting with ganja ignited extrapolations on how to bring realizations to wise old men of how to accept their place in the world!!! Come on ...does anyone else think this thread was a hoot from the get-go? And I smoked a Thai stick in Change Rai -that got me pretty freaking close to Bubba or Budda -one of those guys... -

Now you've filled in the sketch to be a well draw picture of what the world is up against! Political & Social power (in the hands it has usually been in)...subjects all natural phenomina to the naging inclinations of bored and ruthless folks...Who have tended to be Ignorant and forked of tongues with narrowness of mind to boot...Casting aspersions on what they do not grok... Just like the rest of us - but they got power - how would we (naturalists) do with power? -

The White Supremacists I've (unhappily) encountered did every drug they could get their ignorant little hands on...Most of them where homosexuals too- but closeted - full of self-loathing... gay-gay bashers... Hypocracy is rife within the ranks of those who disparage & denigrate others' natural traits and inclinations... But yeah-that reference is pretty sketchy... -

The barter system is discouraged by most Governments. Its a tax thing... But the popularity remains in these tuff economic times-which are pretty much world-wide - if stratified socially...It is GROWING. NOT spending money for stuff is the way to go when money is tight. Everyone has something anyone else would want if not actually need-(yes salesmanship still applies!). That the value of everything shifts is - (like the rest of life)... its most prominant aspect... That makes the stock market, milk, petroleum products and even courses in enlightenments' pricings change. The economic "laws" that rich & powerful folks play with and get politicians to manipulate, do not apply in nature - except supply & demand. Sharing (without much, if any, waste)...works best for me. -

I once partnered with a dog named Hector - (He died 20 years ago & I miss him as much as anyone whos died) ...now HE had Buddha nature! He never had me on a leash and would often try to wise me up on how to behave. He trained me very well. AND... he was also a pot-head... he'd follow a joint around a circle and get the exhales!-Then he'd try to talk. We all loved him very much. he was as senscient and wise as any being I have ever known - truly! He was my eyes and ears and ESP liar detector- If he didn't "like" someone - & I sure could tell if that were the case, I knew not to trust them... That was a being with great sense of self and purpose... - to love & be loved -period. I'm tearing up- love to all-Pat

I once lived on a farm. We had 3 pigs named Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner... We came to the same conclusion - shoot 'em away from the other pigs when they were happy and at ease...

Wait a minute -are you saying there are job opportunities being missed by herb-smokers? Slackers shudder in their angst at that... They need to unionize and smash through these imposed impedaments to any further getting "higher"... It seems transcendance is a big commodity around here... step right up and get yr red-hot enlightenment boys & girls, just do not do what we proscribe and you will get there -We promise! Please, do not worry you pot heads out there you WILL -or already have figured out where yr are at...Because we all know where ever you're at... there you are. Now, please pass the brownies my cartoons are coming on... -
Being ready for anything. Without expectations or preconceptions...open-hearted and open eyed for ones' own - (well-centered), open mind... to harmoniously live its' part in the dance of life....

This is a great topic... but off thread... anyway -I've used the barter system in 35 nations... and everywhere I've lived in the USA. It works everywhere! Don't count it out guys. There is a world-wide underground economy, off the grid and non-denominational! There is no actual income to declare, just a natural flow of goods & services sans gilt.-(pun intended)- love to all-Pat -

Riding my bike in the countryside until I'm pouring sweat is a very up-lifting way to start the day...And if the bike gets a flat - I get to walk and spend more time with the countryside! -

As IF you care?! Besides, I said nothing... I typed... It felt like I was calling you out from behind yr mask of scholarly tripe & SELF- centered religiosity. YOU found some of yr answers and now act as if ya think the world revolves around those answers. Those of us here who are still free-thinking and not caught up in the dogmatic and politically based agendas of any one theory of this cosmos still have open minds and eyes to see truth as it emerges- not only as it applies to our preconceived notions of how things work... You remain on my ignore list, to address as I feel its apt to our larger discussions here, allowing my self that buffer to yr pretentious twaddle...Is a relief ... that actually addressing you negates to some small degree... I dislike yr attitude as I would any head-strong know-it all holier than thou fool... Hows' yr chest feeling? I'm very happy to have gotten that off'n mine! -

well if YOU say- " so be it "that settles it. we can all accept Taoist principles of change because YOU say we can...Due to Buddhist thinking - how simple you make things -just agree with Buddhism and be free of all other concerns! what extactic joy you tender! That settles this thread - rude and imperious entries from Buddhists are fine now because Vaj says SO BE IT! we are all one in non-permanance... -
Us old hipsters just call it going with the flow... That may enclude some serious swimming action as well...Its not about lazy its about being in the moment so that action is appropriate without ones' mind needing to re-assess ones'activities -naturally in synch with yr activities and the wider world - but working up a sweat is part of that!

This has been an interesting thread for some time now... I am glad to see it around still...Many many months ago Sean O. PM'd & asked me to add my 2 cents to this thread... I'll look back at it now to see where I was at then... Let me use a quote that I tender in my books' intro... A Belief is a vivid hope or fear, and the origin of folly. A wise person goes by knowledge, not hope or fear. Taoists are naturalists at heart. We have nature as our guide and insperation. We seek harmony with the wider universe and take only what we need from the world of men... - with humility and humor I hope! Love to all-

The only great time for me to smoke hemp is between sets durring a gig- it takes the edge off from the pressure of performing and opens me up to the other band members.. The nature of hemp is very Yin -it serves to make me receptive and enhances my appreciation of beautiful forms-musical and otherwise ...But a steady usage is very detrimental. It saps ones' energies badly in the long run... -

Swine Flu May Cause 90,000 U.S. Deaths, Report Says
Wayfarer64 replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
I recently read where Baxter Pharm has been "busted" ... they teamed with a Chech. Pharm Co. to spread swine flu - by infecting aspirines with flu... in order to sell more of their vaccine in future...as dispicable an activity as I've heard lately. -
When I've had near death experiences my life flkashed before my eyes just as i heard it would- what if the whole thing was re-runs of TV shows I'd been watching? Instead of my selfs' lifes' projection I'd get the commercial ridden swill of mis-spent youth... Death should not be commoditized -but it remains so... step right up and get yr red-hot transcendance here - it'll only cost ya most of yr time while alive!

The 1st time I met my sifu, I was drunk & picked a fight with him. He loved me for it and I became an inner disciple soon after. BUT- I was never rude nor disrespectful -I am not with anyone for that matter. It is not actually a moral charcter issue as much as just plain good manners- If you travel the world -you will NEED good manners and an understanding of what comportment is expected whereever you are. Do not be the "Ugly American" of lore! Please, it reflects poorly on all of us westerners who are seeking Eastern knowledge... By the way- Are you from Texas by any chance Finley? You don't take advise well -even when you ask for it. -
