  1. Thats not true. There are lots of people you can learn from, and the best teacher is yourself. Wim hoff is the real deal and he has cheap classes. You can do a 10 day vipassana retreat with free food and accomadation for free. There are lots of cheap and accessable very powerful 'REAL DEAL' training centres but everyone is seeking difficulty, the training thats very expensive, far away in another country and is inaccessable to them. Become enlightened enough to see what is around you and that there are very great teachings offered freely.
  2. This is similar to somebody 50 years ago saying 'You can't use silicon to do math'. Now silicon can create life like experiences all within a computer game. If you can shoot the energy out of your fingers, then you can just increase it more and more until eventually you can make holes in things without touching them. I definately believe it's possible. Science is so far backward that it was only recently that it understood how a bee could flight. For many years a bee was scientificially unable to fly, yet there it was flying around.
  3. So there are 1000's of qigong / neigong / meditation / yoga techniques but which one should somebody do? I'm not talking about how they should start off, your opinion of what's best or how famous the technique is. Rather i just want to make available to beginners and experts alike what you have gained from what technique so that if they want to gain a particular benefit or power which way they should go about it. So please share what you've found. Peoples answers can contradict each other because everybody is different so it can effect them differently but i think there will be some sort of pattern. Here are the techniques i have found most fulfilling. Doing each with very heavy practice gives supernatural effect (thats to say i never had that effect before my qigong experience, everything seems natural after you can do it). Even being in the moment is kinda supernatural, not many people can do it on demand. Inner smile - Bliss feeling, Loved up, your whole body can have an orgasmic feeling all day in every activity. Negativity in you're thoughts can get swallowed up in the orgasmic feeling so you just don't care about that bad luck you got. But can become a bit floaty and don't worry about stuff that maybe you should. You can also feel your emotions comming before they have surfaced. Also once you can feel/see your own emotions well you can feel/see others too. Awareness outside type meditations - Get a very keen sense of awareness everywhere around you. Excellent for martial arts type things because you can see whats happening as it's happening. You can start to predict the future because you know whats happening now and know with high probability what will happen next, you've seen it happen like that several times before. The earths beauty also appears Awareness inside type meditations - Can prevent yourself getting sick. Can feel the very beginnings of any illness before it takes hold. Take medications or do certain qigong exercises to correct your body before illness comes in. Watching meditation - Kind of like awareness but watching inside and outside, and seeing yourself from up above. Feels like you are out of the situation. Situations can seem less intimidating because 'you' aren't in them, only your body is. Can become disassociated though, can become maybe a little to daring bit like in a computer game when you can just press the new game button. Vipassana - Very powerful and enjoyable but very boring to begin with. Brings you into the moment. Change perception - Otis taught me this one. You can change your perception of pain so that it feels good! Good for when you're in pain, but i think it's best to try to correct the problem that is causing the pain. But when it can't be done this is great. MCO - Just improves health, which can assist any other meditations effectiveness also. There are as many supernatural powers as there are imagination. You don't need to be able to have flames comming out of your fingers, there are many much more useful super powers. Share something that you thought was genuinely cool the first time you could do it, and which technique you used.
  4. It is very real. You can see high level dans push over lots of people without touch. In a bbc documentry the guy does it to just joe blow on the street, just pulls him back. In aikido you can throw someone without touching them but this is a bit different. It's like you give them a hand to try to grab then you move it in a way that they're off balance and fall over. There is no chi in this.
  5. Spiritual Teachers...

I read the book from YAN XIN a very famous qigong guy. I like his description of the teacher. He is everyone around you, the one who stood on your toe, or the wind you felt as you walked down the street. Everything is your teacher, if you listen to it. If you feel you could learn something from anything then you can and you should. I haven't read many spiritual books, but some where excellent but some were just repeating very basic stuff i already knew... like it was a great awakening. It takes so long to wade through all the crap to find something new but thats the only way to do it. If your teacher is of great accomplishment i think there is lots to learn, but nothing more than what you could learn by yourself. i guess just take everything for what it is. I guess if you look to nature as your teacher you have no limit. If a teacher can continue on the course it is good but this should come from inside not outside. The worst i think is teachers than teach from what they read and think. They have no personal experience and can't know how it was reached and why a certain feeling is so. When a student asks they wrongly reply, because they didn't feel it themselves, then it puts a student off by thinking they should await something that may never be, when they could know it all themselves.
  6. It's a long shot, but...

Just remember anything that drains kidney essence will make it come back until you build up your reserves and can overcome anything that drains the essense... so it doesn't go below the thresh hold that gave you tinnitus. You can get a TCM formula which will bolster your kidney yin, i used to take one which bolstered kidney and liver yin and it slowly starts working. Goji berries do this too, but the formula has several herbs which work more strongly to do it faster. Keep eating the berrys or a formula for 3 months or so, dont' just stop now. You want it gone forever not just until you get the next cold. Keep doing the meditation, whatever one you like doesn't matter just keep doing it too and then your tinnitus wont' come back
  7. Iron Crotch and The Little Nine Heavens

I don't know what you mean about this iron crotch system as a whole, but as for hanging weights off your penis i think it's called chi weight lifting. It definately works if you want more chi, or want to strengthen your organs directly by lifting weight. But you might get too much chi, more sexual energy chi than you bargined for if you do it daily especially and it can take 24 hours to cool down. The effect can even be felt slightly 48 hours later. You can not only get hurt from the obvious way of having too much weight hanging down, but also from too much energy than you know what to do with. If you dont' know how to get the energy out of your head you can feel like you're starting to go crazy, apart from other body pains. Make sure you know your qigong and know your body well before you do any chi weight lifting. I mean it doesn't hurt to give it a go with very light weights but you'll probably stop after a few times if it's too much chi because you will be very uncomfortable. But that will give you incentive to practice your qigong if you know what sort of energy is available to you. Good luck, and at least make sure you know how to do the healing sounds well before you try it, if you decide to.
  8. Calling all crystal/gemstone experts!

Nah mate, thats no crystal, thats a dragon's egg for sure. Don't keep it too close to the fire / warm all the time or you might come home to some baby dragons that ate your dog.
  9. Tai Chi Push hands

I learnt for one year from a good master while i was in china. I think it is impossible to learn from a video on the internet, it is impossible, but you can definately learn from each other. Just practice and try out different things on each other. It's all learning even not on the most direct route.
  10. Spiritual Teachers...

Yes very good point. Thanks alot for your insight everyone.
  11. Ok so getting my molars taken out, just got over a huge mouth infection and been on heaps of codene constantly for nearly a week. I can feel the heat in my liver, and the iburafen stuffing up my guts. The pain was super intense and the whole side of my face and neck was swollen. Better now but after i get these teeth taken out it's gunna kill again and i'm gunna be back in the same place. Meditations i've tried are trying to escape duality, it's good because you can do it while your doing every day stuff but for me the pain seems only slightly reduced as my body seems 'over there' and the pain is not mine.... but it still hurts! And while it hurts this meditation is very hard! Inner smile, trying to love myself up but the increased energy around my sore area increases the pain there. Blue/earth energy around the sore area, calms it a bit but still freakin sore. I've heard of people using meditation or even hypnosis to undergo surgery without anasthetic! Maybe it requires more practice in that area but i've got a few weeks before i'm going to have the operation so if i can get some techniques in that time maybe i won't need too much of the oxycodine they will give me and i will feel better for it. Any help appreciated!
  12. Meditation for pain managment

Ok had 4 wisdom teeth out yesterday. I did awareness meditation going in on the bus and all the way into the surgery to keep calm. They left me waiting in a room and then in a bed for nearly one hour before they gave me the injection to put me to sleep. Hearing the sound of drills and grinding wheels slicing into peoples teeth and jaws was a little disruption to my calmness but i quickly got over it and the calm was back with me while the noise was there. While i was hooked up to the heart rate monitor and i had a bit of fun testing my ability to change my heart rate on demand. It was easy to change between 60-80bpm and back again but i didn't want to get higher than 80 incase they came back in and started on me at any moment, i wanted to keep calm. Then using self hypnosis i made my body totally numb and by they came in i was almost knocked out before they even gave me the KO needle. It was even hard to lift my hand up to put the glasses on when they told me to. After i came out felt not too bad, the local anasthetic was still in effect, and i took the most of it to relax and keep the pain down they said the anasthetic would last about 1 hour more. Constant awareness meditation for the next 7 hours and trying to change my perception of the pain as just 'another' feeling kept it easily managable. Trying to make in into a nice feeling increased the energy there and also increased the pain. MCO also would have done that i'm sure so i just let my body decide by it's self where the energy should go and kept my awareness within and without balanced awareness on everything. I did some qi weight lifting to increase my energy and hopefully my healing. By the end of the 7 hours the swelling was down lots and it felt much better i was easily managing. I listened to my audio book and my concentration i felt slowed the healing a bit. But i was just getting sick of being in the trance and wanted to watch a movie so i had a few pain killers and it all became alot easier, stayed up and watched the movie. Had a bit too many and now the next day i feel bit sick. Should have just carried on and slept without them but oh well, it doesn't feel too bad today and i think tomorrow i might even be able to chew some soft stuff. Thats pretty quick considering they said it would take a week, and also the peak of the swelling was supposed to be 48-72 hrs but mine subsided in only 3-4hrs. No more pain killers for me thou those opiates suck. So... my lesson i learnt is the best way to deal with pain is to catch it early on, not to let it get the better of you, keep it at bay from the start don't let it spiral out of control. Feel the pain but don't concentrate on it, just be aware of it at the same time as everyone else. It's a bit like wim hof what he does with the cold. His quote of 'it's like wine' at the start it doesn't taste nice but you try it a bit more and the feeling grows on you - It's not the feeling you begin to like, it's what else goes on around that feeling in your consiousness. Thanks to everyone that replied and helped me out, as well as to Otis with his ideas.
  13. Amazing video - Guo Shifu

Very impressive. I had a tai chi teacher in china and he was very good but this guy is definately much better. He's amazing
  14. The Tendon Changing Classics

Mantak chia has a few moves in videos. Generally just twist your arms so you tendons stretch. do some tai chi looking movements. Do it after you do inner alchemy and you will know when you are doing it right, it will feel real nice.
  15. Awareness of Non-Meditation

Non meditation is the best for meditation's sake. But sitting in meditation is good for nei gong. I love nei gong now... i'm addicted. I was addicted to body building at one stage, now i love nei gong =]
  16. I disagree. I think the path to enlightenment is ALL about you. Starts ends and finishes with you? There are some perls but the are all shrouded by utter crap to confuse the hell out of everyone, so of course people need a priest to decrypt the meaning. It's interesting and satisfying for the ego to read, study, compare and try to decrypt religous nonsence but it does nothing to help us on this path. If the time spent reading, discussing and thinking about holy texts was used to reflect internally, progress would be ten fold... There are all the religions you speak of but they all come to the same point. The thrill one feels as they understand a new religous text, one finds on some 'new' level is short lived, until they find another more challenging text and the thrill is recieved again. It is all a waste of time. In fact it is going backwards, it's just more crap that you need to unlearn, and because of the thrill of understanding something so sacred and special it is all the more difficult to 'let go' of it. It's only when you stop this cycle and prove to yourself that you don't need to test yourself and your understanding any more with religious rubbish that was written by a FOLLOWER (all the chapters of the bibles were written by followers) that finally you will realise you don't need to try to understand the writings of a follower who doesn't even fully understand the person they are following and learning from. Then one's own light shines bright and the others begin to follow him. Of course you can't deny that the other religions are there but when your own thought comes from the divine they are old and outdated. Your own insight is the most valuable of all. Holy texts are just ideas that are sometimes right. I don't believe in religions, i believe in myself
  17. It's a long shot, but...

In TCM the ears relate to the kidneys. It is most definately kidneys. The fact that it went away temporarily should prove to you that it is not untreatable/unfixable. So... how to fix it? Do things that will build up your kidneys, don't do things that will drain your kidneys. I can get this problem too if i be silly so i know how to fix it. don't Ejaculate or have sex often even if you don't ejaculate Alcohol or drugs Overwork yourself - burn the candle at both ends. eat sugar or have coffee Do relax / meditate / qigong - iron shirt 1 qigong is very good Eat goji berries - these work good, handful 3 times a day eat animal kidneys, and chicken livers are good too rub your kidneys (lower back) fast so it becomes hot for a minute or so or untill your arms are too tired, do it 3 times a day It will slowly get better, i think 2 weeks of this kinda stuff and you will definately notice improvement
  18. Australian Taoists

WEEE are GEELONG, the greatest team of all!!! Or so we have been of recent times! Should organise a Victorian Taoist Meet. Go have a cup of tea somewhere or even a beer. I'll be in for that!
  19. Feng Shui

    hahahahah I love the simpsons!
  20. Meditation for pain managment

Good point worth noting. The reason i became interested in meditation in the first place was after i listened to my parents weight loss self hypnosis cassette when i was about 12. It's a different kind of relaxed that energy work relaxation. It's more you feel yourself super heavy and numb. I can get kinda that feeling from the 6 healing sounds sometimes and do it while i'm awake. Thats the only downside to hypnosis i found, i had to close my eyes and lay there for 30 -40 mins or so, can't do it in normal life. And as soon as i stop that numbness is gone, i couldn't carry it on through, not that i tried.. hmmm i should try. The suggestions about weight loss (and i did listen to a smoking one too) did carry through though. I'm keen to try the pain one. I recieved those guided meditations thanks Michael. I'll try have a go in my lunch break at work. Give me a week or 2 before i will get back to you with feedback! Thanks alot for your help again everyone
  21. I think where you disagree with me is that your understanding of what i am calling god is the same thing you say is within you. I'm not christian or anything but i just am in the habit of saying god now so others around me can understand if i start saying tao or whatever i get weird looks. God, tao, higher self etc etc it's all the same thing and 'IT' is in everyone and everything. The 'best' is automatically determined without you having to think about it. You don't need to think it's the best for this or that instance, that is a waste of time. The best for whatever you are doing at the time, or the best for whatever will happen in the future. It may not appear to be the best at the time but the one that you are drawn to, even though you think the hammer is a better choice to bang in a nail with, if you see your hand reaching out for some scissors and only get it in .5cm into the wood, that is the best way if your wife comes in 5 minutes later telling you don't nail into that wood they want it! This higher self, god tao or whatever works in unforseeable ways and is all mighty in that everything contains it, so i think it is better to just have faith and believe in your instincts. I didn't used to think that way but it was only after i started watching over a period of time had i not done what i felt was right and did what i thought was right everything would have been alot worse, things became better in every way that i desired, automatically, without deciding what i wanted and finding the best choice for the outcome i wanted.
  22. Perhaps my language is not so specific, but i lack the knowledge of spirtuality specific words because i haven't read alot of spirtuality texts and as soon as i start seeing words like dhama etc i just switch off. I know some basic chinese words but thats all. I mainly like reading laymans personal experiences... so bear with me just try to understand me. Yes that definition will do. Ok comparing mind. Measuring, comparing, deciding according to some criteria So each layer has to willingly defer to a deeper layer. At each step there is an element of willingness, allowing. This deepening happens in an atmosphere of allowing, cognizant permissiveness, relaxation. Complete god awareness = at one with the tao, I'd like you to show me 'easily' it's my imagination Analysis always has purpose but is not always useful. What people call the 'monkey mind' is not useful. Re-analysing stuff you have already analysed, getting stuck in a loop, is not useful. Analysing stuff you're not even aware you're analysing, etc, etc. Dead? At the beginning you are right. After you give up for a while and become good at it, you give up before you even start. Then later you don't even bother starting. It takes effort to 'do'. Far more than it takes to surrender. This is not saying you lay in bed all day but you don't bother fighting the flow, you just do what you do but don't think or try to do anything different, it is just being done infront of your eyes... well... infront of your awareness! My experience is not like you say. After getting deeper into the state there was no need for an intent to relax, i was already relaxed, i only used my intent to 'do'. Its silly to use intent to not-do why do you need intent for that? Just use intent for what you want to 'do'. The not 'do' ing or relaxed, or given up state is the idling state. Then you shift into gear with you're intent to whatever direction you want.
  23. Meditation for pain managment

Thanks alot guys, will get practicing right away, see how i go...
  24. So with your definition of context here (where did you get this from by the way?) the context is what is guiding you if you have no intent. Of course if you have intent to die you walk into the hole if you have intent to keep going forward you walk around it and if you have intent to turn you just turn a different way. If you have no intent well whatever happpens happens, until the next piece of context and god makes the next choice for you. After all the context was also supplied by god. There are no options, it just happens. If you start having options then that means you are analizing the options and not only using intent. With intent i just intend and the direction changes towards it's happening. The person only feels freer when looking at themselves in a god-awareness moment but when they are just being in that moment they don't feel freer they just ARE free. Spirituality brings to light more options but doesn't indicate you should take any of those options, only the one that god leads you to do. I don't think this dogma you speak about is bad, it is just the fact that you are drawn naturally to that one path. It doesn't disallow questioning of different options but later you realise that any questioning or deciding is fruitful and a waste of time because the best one is already known! Interesting topic!
