Hey guys, In my wandering in cyberspace, I came across Jesse's commercial website answering Pietro's very question. Jesse stated he would not post anything commercial or promote this part of his work in any manner, however, since there is a sincere and independent inquiry and need for information on how a genuine Taoist aspirant may get a foothold into China and authentic Taoist training, this would seem to be one of the best opportunities to that end. http://eternalspringtours.com/html/2008-tours-in-china.html In kind regards, Adam.

According to a famious Taoist master translated in "Secrets of Chinese Meditation" by Charles Luk, when the microcomsic orbit naturally becomes active from practicing reverse abdominal breathing while meditating on the Dan Tien, after it is full of chi and becomes burning hot, the heat and energy goes through the orbit, up the spine, burning and vibrating all over the body and continues back down the front of the body into the Dan Tien. This all takes place in stages and not necessarily in one instance. This phenomenon is exactly the same as described in Indian kundalini traditions and that of Tibet. The Taoists do not seem to call it kundalini, but he phenomenon is the same - same referent, different name. In kind regards, Adam.

Hi Allan! It is not clear to me exactly what you are saying here. As I read you and others, the Wilhelm translation of the Secret of the Golden Flower is somehow incomplete or flawed, can you elaborate exactly what is wrong with it? Further, you suggest the incomplete text has been somehow corrected with the inclusion of a translation of the of Hui Ming Ching, can you point to a text that has the corrected version of the Secret of the Golden Flower you speak of? Many thanks! In kind regards, Adam.

Thanks Joe, that was very helpful indeed! I am always very interested in other people sharing their insights and success stories. In kind regards, Adam.

Hey Joe, Would you describe these 30 to 40 second breaths you speak of? Are they abdominal, reverse abdominal etc? Is one focusing one's attention in the Dan Tien etc? Many thanks! (1) Vegetarian diet and lots of water; (2) no toxic thoughts, emotions or food and drink; (3) celibacy of thought, speech and sexual expression; (4) long consistent stillness meditations, and alchemal breath and energy work; (5) avoid too much contact with people and attempt to spend some time with those of a high vibration. (4) being the best, supported by (1) through (5). More than two I know, but we really are addressing the question holistically and on multiple levels. In kind regards, Adam.

Taoist Theory and Practice of Internal Alchemy
Adam West replied to dao zhen's topic in General Discussion
Hello Dao Zhen! Thanks for your most interesting sharing of personal information - what a wonderful dream life you seem to be living!! I think it is fantastic you are willing to be so open about your study and circumstances, and the tradition - a true breath of fresh air. I am interested in authentic Taoist internal alchemy and sitting meditation. My only interest is in realising the Tao, and I practice to that end as best I can. However, we in the west are so hampered by a lack of access to the living lineages and traditions. What little access we have is often corrupted by cultural inflexibility and western consumerism. I urge you to share with us as freely as your tradition allows, as there are so many sincere aspirants and practitioners who have toiled for years and years, wandering around in the dark. Many thanks! In kind regards, Adam. -
Perhaps consider copy-pasting the text of the word document straight into a post? In kind regards, Adam.

Very nice text - thanks alot!!! Who is the author? Does the text belong to a larger cannon of texts? Do you have any further texts and elaborations to contribute? Very impressive indeed!! In kind regards, Adam. -
Hi Taoist81! Can you describe what you mean by Jesuit meditations? Do you mean meditations done by the Jesuits, an Order in the Catholic church? They are the interllectuals and academics of the catholic church, as I understand it, and have historically attacked and argued against Christian mysticism; so I would be surprised if that is who you are referring to. Many thanks! In kind regards, Adam.

Reply to Sean Denty regarding David Verdessi

Hi HouTian! I don't know the story of Kosta getting kicked out of the Mo Pai lineage (other than John Chang refusing to teach anymore students after that incident in showing off and drawing blood at the cafe), can you tell it or post a link to where I might find it? Thanks mate! According to his book, his father also died of cancer. I think it is more plausible that his family has a genetic propensity for presenting with cancer rather than any insinuation that his Mo Pai training caused it. In kind regards, Adam. -
I would definitely love to hear about your views and insights concerning these topics!!! In kind regards, Adam.

Hi durkhrod chogori! With absolute respect and kindness, I will leave the post as it is, as its purpose is to archive in this thread a historical presentation of David's biography as it was at three different dates on the same site. So the links to the original sites are now preserved as is the content of the sites themselves. I realize it is a large amount of apparently "dead" text, of which I too cringe, yet its research importance supersedes the impulse to edit it. You have my sincere oppologies! I beg your tolerance and indulgence in this matter. In kind regards, Adam.

On this forum, I doubt most are concerned with the basics or the advanced of Taoist philosophy in terms of robust academia. Most seem to be concerned with Taoist practices, that is, Taoist technical mysticism in the form of sitting and moving meditation and alchemy. I am interested in Taoist sitting meditation and internal alchemy practice. If you can recommend a course in basic to advanced meditation and alchemal practice that you feel is authentically traditional and not overly influenced by new age or Buddhist views, then I would be very interested in that! Avoiding a pompous tone of intellectual snobbery might be useful though. Certainly and evidently, as you stated, being advanced insofar as of being well read in Taoist philosophical texts does not equate to being spiritually advanced. In kind regards, Adam.

Nice idea from both of you! I'm definitely up for it! In kind regards, Adam.

To those who plan to join "traditionaltao" and those affected by it.

Changed my mind. -
Hey Wudangspirity, Thanks for the reply! I understand that, as it is so with most traditional esoteric lineages. Can you tell me - yes or no - if your system makes use of the microcosmic orbit in its internal alchemy practices? Some Taoist traditions do and some don't, I am wondering if yours does. With your main meditation practice, is it very much like Zen zazen, or quite different? Many thanks! In kind regards, Adam.
-
Hi Wudangspirit, Can you give us an idea of what exactly the immortality training consists of - particularly the meditation and internal alchemy practices? Many thanks! In kind regards, Adam.
-
Yes definitely stick around and share with us some of your tradition and insight! In kind regards, Adam.

Cool review!! I like that movie also, very much actually! But it's mainly because I love sci-fi, and good sci-fi is very hard to find. It gets very implausible towards the end, but that's Hollywood for you ;-) Thanks for sharing your thoughts! In kind regards, Adam.

Hey Buddy, Interesting video! On another note, what exactly do you teach? In kind regards, Adam.

yeah, it seems like it will be really interesting. Hopefully it comes out soon and contains some in depth teachings. If so, it will need to be a large book, as it covers a lot of material. Hopefully, he goes on to elaborate in specialist follow up books dealing with individual traditions and practices covered in this one concerning alchemy. In kind regards, Adam.
