You do realize that the 'forum member' in question hasn't been active for years, and that he is vocal in his videos, attacking TDB and it's members. Maybe these people do need calling out for what they are. Trying to let folks know the pitfalls of following such people should be allowed here. We've lost too many good members here recently, which started off with a difference in opinion.

As someone who has never voted, this whole fiasco has showed me I was right all along. They're all incompetent at governing our country. This is the worst set of politicians I've ever seen, from all sides. Hopefully the rest of the countries in Europe who want out of the global tyranny, will have less problems ? Italy look good for the next exit and possibly Greece ? Hungary and Poland ? Once one breaks free, there will be a domino effect.

Yes, I'd be interested if freeform is OK with that. Very fortunate it is indeed to have someone in an authentic Daoist tradition.

Thank you for sharing. These are excellent resources. As someone who has had a reiki healing session, I can attest to it's validity. For me, I believe it opened up powerful psychic channels. I've wanted to learn it for myself for years, but just never got around to it.

At the moment I'm recovering from hernia surgery, and so the physical parts of my practice regime are postponed for a few weeks until I'm healed. This has allowed me to work more on meditation and contemplation, as well as catching up on my reading.

Tear it all Down & Renew the Source Seed of Love

It's very sad Apech. Throw in the fact that wherever you look there is so much litter and fly-tipping. It's depressing, especially as I live in a semi-rural area with lots of beautiful countryside. It hurts me so much. This is a huge social problem. People don't care what they do, how they do it, and who they're affecting. As long as it doesn't affect them, it's fine. As, for the football, I gave up on watching professional football in 1992. That's when the money people started to change the sport from a working-man's hobby, into corporate, middle class entertainment. I was also just surfacing from the rave culture which chemically rewired my mind. I briefly ventured into watching my local non-league team for a few years, but eventually got bored of it. I guess when you 'unplug' from the system, the mundane things just don't grab you anymore. To say I 'unplugged' maybe a bit of a stretch, because to be honest, I don't think I've ever been plugged into the system. Even as a young child I saw things differently to my friends. I wasn't easily fooled and could smell a rat a mile off. I don't have a smartphone anymore. I just had to look around me and saw what a destructive device they can be. Same with Facebook. I deleted my account years ago. Seeing pictures of people's meals and scaremongering weather reports were enough for me. I very rarely watch TV, if my wife has something on, I have no choice. Even if I'm not watching it I can hear it. It depresses the life out of me. I'd much rather spend my leisure time reading or listening to music. -
Your best bet is on reading 'The Taoist I Ching' by Thomas Cleary.

I also haven't made any claims about JC. I just don't believe all the myth and fantasy surrounding the whole issue. That photo is of Kosta with JC and others. Remember Kosta wrote the book which gullible westerners believed, which resulted in wild goose chases around the Indonesian sub-continent. Looking for a man who survives 90 mph car crashes with his chi power and sets pieces of paper on fire with his mind. I'm outta here.

I actually posted this before I read your question.

This is my final post on the matter. I've got better things to do than to argue with random people on an internet forum. From the words of the Buddha: Kalama Sutta The people of Kalama asked the Buddha who to believe out of all the ascetics, sages, venerables, and holy ones who, like himself, passed through their town. They complained that they were confused by the many contradictions they discovered in what they heard. The Kalama Sutta is the Buddha's reply. –Do not believe anything on mere hearsay. –Do not believe in traditions merely because they are old and have been handed down for many generations and in many places. –Do not believe anything on account of rumors or because people talk a a great deal about it. –Do not believe anything because you are shown the written testimony of some ancient sage. –Do not believe in what you have fancied, thinking that, because it is extraordinary, it must have been inspired by a god or other wonderful being. –Do not believe anything merely because presumption is in its favor, or because the custom of many years inclines you to take it as true. –Do not believe anything merely on the authority of your teachers and priests. –But, whatever, after thorough investigation and reflection, you find to agree with reason and experience, as conducive to the good and benefit of one and all and of the world at large, accept only that as true, and shape your life in accordance with it. The same text, said the Buddha, must be applied to his own teachings. –Do not accept any doctrine from reverence, but first try it as gold is tried by fire.

I suppose you have been to see John Chang ? Probably not. Why would I want to seek him out ? I have no interest in chasing around the world looking for someone who may or may not exist. As for plenty of evidence/testimony, anyone can say anything, doesn't mean it's true. Maybe there was an agenda in the first place. Where is YOUR evidence, not 3rd party myths either. YOURS.

I never said qi didn't exist, ever. I said you can't physically see it, only it's effects. Qi is NOT physical. I came to the conclusion over 20 years ago that Qi is mind. Anyway I thought you'd put me on ignore ?
-
No it's not. As for putting me on ignore, I couldn't care less. This means you believe you are right and refuse to enter any civilised debate.

Looking for Chinese Wikipedia and Chinese Spiritual Forums

Don't expect any answers from Chinese 'masters'. -
Oh, a picture of an asain man sitting meditating. This proves nothing. Parlour tricks and fanciful claims to sell books and send people on wild goose chases around Indonesia.

Yes to this ! There was one particular person who I trained with who showed me the true power of internal arts. It was incredible and scary at the same time.
