Tell me about it ! When I first started on the path we didn't have any kids, but shortly after, when we had our first son, I had to tweak everything. From timing to quantity. At the time both my wife and I practiced martial arts several times a week at a club. When she became pregnant we both stopped, never to return. I missed it a little, but substituted my external martial art practice, first with qigong, and then slowly adding xingyi and yiquan. My health and strength improved considerably, and has stayed at that level over 20 years later. I found my 'sweet spot', practice wise on a morning, before the world was awake, at 5AM. It has remained that way to this day.

Well, it is a huge undertaking. Bill has hundreds of videos. I've lost track of the one's I've watched and the one's I haven't. I must get more organised lol. This is also my understanding. I've hit so many dead ends in my study. Just when I think I've found the 'holy grail', bam ! Something I come across becomes totally at odds with my previous thought. Going back in time to the most ancient texts isn't guaranteed to bring ultimate wisdom. We are constantly told not to 'cherry pick' from different traditions. But the people who advocate this are normally subscribers to their own spiritual entrenchment. Nowadays I tend to sit quietly and meditate and see what comes to me as to which direction to take. Self reliance is my new mantra.

I think the religious aspect is tied to the culture. For Chinese there wouldn't be a blur between the philosophy and religion. For westerners it doesn't come so easy. I would find it difficult to adopt Chinese gods, in much the same way as Shinto is in Japan and the gazillion of Hindu deities.

A lot of theatrics with the mask etc. Of course his system is made up, tell me any system which hasn't been created by somebody at sometime. All systems are made up. There has to be a starting point. But just because you don't like his methods or you question the validity of his system, doesn't mean you have to constantly beat this drum. Just leave it, move on, and find something which you think has everything you need.
