  1. Chundi mantra

https://medium.com/vajra-resources/spiritual-cultivation-is-the-cultivation-of-heart-fbf51c1fad86#.ta1vjhm5a The best resource I've come across on the Cundi mantra and dharani.
  2. Daily (or regular) practices

Just the book. I learned myself the set, a few exercises at a time over a period of a few weeks until I had the whole set memorised. Then I increased the repetitions slowly over time. I've seen parts of the video and it looks too fast, way faster than I do it, but I think it's just to show how the moves are done. The speed and breathing come through regular, preferably daily, practice.
  3. Daily (or regular) practices

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Xing-Nei-Gong-Maintenance-Development/dp/0865681740 Virtually every day for 15 years now.
  4. Beyond enlightenment

Anyone who claims to be enlightened, either on the internet, or in person, probably isn't.
  5. Wang Ziping

I'm looking for some English resources on the Chinese Muslim master Wang Ziping. Especially the exercise system he developed for health and longevity. Thanks.
  6. Wang Ziping

    Excellent, thank you Dainin.
  7. Wang Ziping

    Thanks, bubbles.
  8. Are there any good Qigong books for beginners?

  9. Even though I never went on to practice Indian yoga, Autobiography of a Yogi set me off on the spiritual path.
  10. Which Qi Gong system is best?

May I also add that Xing Yi Nei Gong is my system of choice. I resonated with it immediately and made it 'my own'
  11. Which Qi Gong system is best?

Totally agree with this. Try a few, pick one, and practice it diligently, every single day for a number of years. Make it your own. This will be the 'best'.
  12. I've been away from the forums for some time, so apologies if this has been covered. This seems like a very powerful cultivation method and I plan on using this. I'm always open to different ways in which to improve both myself and others. I'd be interested in the opinions of people who have used this type of cultivation : listening to energetic, spiritual chanting, in both a meditative setting, and used in the background. Qi cultivation, Daoism, Buddhism, sacred sounds and their healing vibrational energy seem to be all merging together. While I'm on this sort of subject, reciting of the Sanghata Sutra, has also been mentioned, and advised to me. http://youtu.be/ZcEDEnD9RT8
  13. Hua Shan – Daoist Sacred Mountain

Fantastic book Gerard. I read it a few years ago.
  14. Basic breathing method from Jiang Weiqiao's material.

Nice post. Simple, clear and to the point.
  15. Kuan Yin from a Taoist Perspective

Resurrecting this thread as it seems relative to my situation right now. As of late, I've been delving into dark paths. This has turned my into a hateful, scornful, jealous, angry, misanthropic person. I've seen the change in me and its not good at all. I'm humble enough still to admit that I have a serious problem which I need to sort out ASAP. Searching for ways in which to change, I stumbled upon this old thread. Kuan Yin maybe the way for me. I really don't care whether methods are Buddhist or Daoist or anything else for that matter as long as they work. So I'm going to give the Namo Kuan Shi Yin Pusa mantra a go and see if it works out for me. I'd be interested if anyone has any long term experience with this. This thread is 5 years old now and it would be nice to hear from the folks involved (or anyone else for that matter) if any are still using this method. Thanks.
  16. Zhan Zhuang Practice Videos

Excellent advice which only comes from experience. I've drifted in and out of standing practices over the years and have come to the same conclusion as you have Steve. Stick to one posture, the most basic, and just use this as your cultivation, however tempted you may be to try others.
  17. Psychic powers are also a by-product of qigong and all energy work.
  18. Less than perfect Guru's

In my area we had a great master of Goju Ryu Okinawan karate. The highest ranking non-japanese teacher. A very well respected man, author of many books. Two years ago, he was jailed for the sexual abuse of female children students. Basically, he used his position of trust and authority to carry out this horrific crime.
  19. Does 'the void' have a physical location?

A while ago, in my meditations, I experienced the void, on more than one occasion. It felt VERY comfortable and completely natural.
  20. Taichi, Hsing I, Bagua....etc

Xinyiliuhequan cannot be overlooked also. THE most aggressive martial art I've ever seen and experienced. Created for one purpose only : to destroy your opponent without any mercy.
  21. Ajahn Chah

    Interesting.
  22. Zhan zhuang length

Opposing force. Pushing/pulling, exploding outward/compressing inward, lifting/sinking of all the limbs, body and head. This is the difference between just standing passively, and cultivating strength and power.
