  1. Tendon strengthening

Xingyi, xinyiliuhequan and Xing Yi Nei Gong are three ways that I know of personally which give excellent results in strengthening tendons. It's basically the meat and bones (forgive the pun !) of these systems.
  2. Taoism have karmic laws like Buddhism?

Internal alchemy is a much, much later addition. The Yijing, DDJ, Zhuangzi, Liezi, Wenzi, Neiye will give you enough to chew on for a thousand years.
  3. Xingyi

Xingyi was a stepping stone, albeit a very important one, on the way to an art which has literally blown me away with it's power, speed, aggressiveness, sheer brutality, and as a way of life. That art is xinyiliuhequan. I don't want to derail your thread so when I get time I'll post more on this in a separate one.
  4. Taoism have karmic laws like Buddhism?

There is no link, in that there is no concept of karma in original Daoism.

  7. Why is Tom Bisio trying to cash in like this ? This system is available in a book which you can get second hand for a few pounds/dollars. Everything is explained there.
  8. Greetings everyone. I don't know if it's just me but when I wake up from a good sleep, the first thought that enters, normally sets the tone for the whole day, or sometimes changes the direction in which my life takes. These thoughts often have a bearing on big decisions that need to be acted upon. I must stress that in my personal experience, there has been no prior thinking, or prompting. It's as if they've just come out of the blue. This morning, again, without any prior thinking upon or even a remote interest in, I suddenly got an incredibly strong urge to practice a cultivation system that I tried a number of years ago and didn't follow up with. Without warning, I was planning out my daily schedule in my head, trying to find a way in which to fit this system into my life. I REALLY want to push ahead with this now. Like nothing ever before. It's as if I've received a 'kick up the ass' from a some kind of intelligent being whilst asleep. Is it best to follow our gut instincts and messages we receive subconsciously rather than our thinking, analytical brain ? I'd be interested if anyone has had a similar experience and of the decision they made. Thanks
  9. My experience of Xingyi quan so far

Xingyi creates, or reinforces a particular mindset. That of boldness, extreme confidence, not fearing failure, win at all costs. A kind of reserved, controlled aggressiveness. Xingyi smashes its way through defenses. Not caring if it takes hits on the way, it will keep on, relentlessly attacking. Whereas taiji is often described as 'steel wrapped in cotton', xingyi is 'cotton wrapped in steel'. Therefore, it doesn't surprise me that you are already noticing changes, both on the physical plane and within the mind. Xingyi brings results much quicker than the other two 'famous' internal martial arts. I'm glad for the time I practiced it and it prepared me for the next level in my martial art journey. I now practice xinyiliuhequan which is on a different level altogether. Xingyi x100. The results are immediate and give you such supreme confidence that you feel you could beat any adversary easily. It is an extremely powerful martial art. Brutal, cruel, and designed for one purpose only : to completely destroy your opponent causing maximum damage and death. A killing art, invented in a time where defending yourself and your family was a matter of life and death. The art has been kept alive and pure, secretly, through the cultural revolution, passed down through generations of Hui Muslim families and communities. Easy to learn, especially if you have prior experience in xingyi or are coming from an external martial art background. It's still reasonably rare in the West.

Wonderful quote shanlung. Reminds me of the writings of Liu I Ming.
  12. Killing Joke

    Sorry, couldn't resist.
  13. Please help me decide

Stick to what you know and don't try to add more, even though the temptation might be to do so. There's thousands upon thousands of practice's available. You have a solid practice. Deepen your knowledge of that.
  14. Ahh. The infinite regress. Another flawed concept. An intelligence, beyond the laws of our known physics, I believe is responsible for Creation.
  15. Infinity is a flawed concept. There HAS to be a starting point.

Hi DanC. Google 'Joseph P Lau PDF' A much better book in my opinion. The detail is incredible.

Do you have a teacher zoom, or are you going it alone ? I'd be interested to hear of your experiences. Maybe this is for another thread though.PM me if it's more suitable to converse that way.
  19. Wang Liping Low Level?

Being more of a Tolkien man than a Star Wars one, I'd always thought of myself as a Nazgul in training.
  20. Wang Liping Low Level?

From 'Teacher of Single Yang': ” If you sit in Dazuo (a sitting practice in the lotus or a cross-legged practice, a meditation), it is a false calmness, “Yin is caused” by the continuation of this process, and the longer the sitting will last, the paler and the flabbier the face will become and the more worse the health and condition of body will be. Then the Yang jing cannot be retained in the body and will be scattered outside. The seeker of the spiritual practice! First think about an amount of the jing you have, so you're not afraid to exhaust it by sitting, to die even without knowing that it will happen from your practice, unknowingly destroy your soul by an unreasonable predilection of a profane teaching? If this happens, it will be truly sad!" I also have encountered people who sit in meditation for lengthy periods every day. Buddhist monks from the Theravada tradition. Almost all of them looked very pale and weak. The abbot of a nearby monastery was particularly weak and pale. As I went to shake his hand in greeting, I couldn't help but notice his frailty. His hand was very cold, his handshake weak, and his complexion ashen grey. I thought to myself 'this CAN'T be good for one's health, all this sitting'.
  21. It is the sexual act that brought you into existence. Remember that.

Burning paper, walking through walls, special abilities etc etc are NOT the Dao. Why do so many people think this ?
  23. What Results Do People Here Have From Training?

It looks like you've had good results from your practice.
