I think what you are saying regarding cartels could be true. I touched on the subject in the Zeitgeist moving forward thread: the Buddha was right. Fundamental ignorance causes the issues we face in today's world or in Ya Mu's words: the mind is the problem Good Night, and Good Luck

http://www.jaif.or.jp/english/ indeed it is quite sad to see that after Chernobyl it is the same pattern: low level people "Japanese Self-Defense Forces" are being sacrificed in the attempts of cooling down the reactor. Regarding whether we as humans are able to invent new technology to have clean and safe energy, I can only say STRONG DETERMINATION and IMAGINATION will get you very far. Saying that we cannot go on without oil, coal and nuclear power is shutting the mind of from finding solutions.

Interesting. I wonder what that book would cost...

"Living from the Heart" by Nirmala is all about this, including practical exercises. Not easy, but I think with practise comes mastery

Terry's DVDs are level one from my knowledge. Level 2 you can get from http://www.flyingphoenix.us/. These are the only levels that have been opened to the public via DVDs.

audio, I'm doing both FP + Yi Gong, no hiccups until now
-
audio, read all 49 pages of the FP thread before asking... or you can use the following answer: you can sit crosslegged, that's what Terry says in the FP DVDs. You can also use something to support your back, no worries.

Audiohealing, maybe your issue is related to your physique. I hold the posture for about 40 min if I don't get into movements. Before that I did one year of standing - maximum standing time was one hour so I built up muscles and stamina. So don't get encouraged, I started with 5 mins of standing and then proceeded onwards. After some time, maybe one or two weeks, increase time with 5 mins and wait one or two weeks again. Do this until you hit the desired time.
-
those movements are very similiar to some of the movements in my Yi Gong practise. Bamboo, have you tried Yi Gong at another time of the day? I had more movements in the evening than in the morning.

Found a sample from the book Living from the Heart. Give it a read, I found the writing wonderful. At only $2.99 for the ebook I am getting this.

Do you have any practical info regarding the development of this kind of awareness? Like Buddhist mindfulness?

Sifu Terry, I have some questions and observations on vol 3 and vol 4. 1) In "Moonbeam Splashes..." and "Flying Phoenix Celestial Healing Chi Mediation" you stand in the wide stance. As you do the "push" movement, it seems to me that there is pressure on the knees since my feet are still pointing forward while the torso is pointing to the right. Is this correct or have I misunderstood those movements? It does not seem natural to put such pressure on the knees and I would rather move my feet to point the same direction as my torso. 2) An observation: I have done vol 3 for about 3 months, vol 4 for about 2 months. I have observed that the forms in vol 3 generate more energy that doing vol 4. Maybe I just need to practise vol 4 more? Vol 4: when I do the crane stance with closed eyes it is hard to keep the balance on one foot. I guess my balance will be improved in time.

what do you base this opinion on? from http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/10935-eastern-internal-arts-institute/page__st__16 Jenny says I don't know the Kunlun book or what is taught at the seminars, I don't know the achievement of those who do Yi Gong, so for me it is hard to compare.
-
John, I am also doing Yi Gong now, only one week under the belt but I have not felt any side effects other than GOOD side effects: especially in the back feels like more open now due to Yi Gong.

yes, this was clearly shown by the US in the latest Iraqi war and disappearances done by the CIA to eg. Egypt and other dictatorships.

What's the difference between neigong and qigong?

one of the reasons I'm doing Classical Tai Chi which uses Internal Disclipine I think there is a world of difference between this and other Tai Chi styles with large frame forms. -
ZEITGEIST: MOVING FORWARD | OFFICIAL RELEASE | 2011
johndoe2012 replied to YAN's topic in General Discussion
The underlying problem is fundamental ignorance. Redistribution is not enough. I live in Denmark which is one the most equal countries in the world and people are still consuming a lot. Of course less than in other countries but still a lot. The global meltdown of the economy could be the first step but until now the rich have been getting even richer and the debt cycle is continuing. Maybe China needs to fall which then will get US to fall which will change everything. I don't hold much faith to the libertarian movement which to my experience seems to cultivate too much selfishness. The theory of free banking bla bla is just another economic driven society which will be even more unequal. Economy needs a very low place in future society. -

Saw about one and a half, I found it very good. I knew almost everything that was said, no surprise there. Of course a movie will only show the surface of the issues, but I think they picked out good stuff to focus on. Only thing I didn't agree with was the physician who said "there is a tendency to not pick up babies when they cry" or similar. This is simply false, at least in Nothern Europe where I live. Other than that I think it is great to wake people up. However I still think change comes from within and that focus on yourself is the way to go. Another societal paradigm will maybe change a little on the surface but real freedom comes from cultivation. -
Sifu Jenny Lamb's Upcoming Yi Gong Seminars
johndoe2012 replied to devi's topic in General Discussion
Got the Self Healing Qigong series 1 a few days ago and practised today. The production is very good, I would say it is the best I've seen. The vibe I get from watching it is simply fantastic. Her voice, the tranquilty of her body language instills confidence. I wouldn't hesitate to go one of her seminars if she comes to Europe again. I followed the whole DVD, got into spontaneous movements, it build a lot of heat. Before I started qigong I was into dancing, especially afro-cuban, cuban salsa and african tribal stuff. The funny thing was my body did something similar to african tribal dance; I know now why I was into it at that time I couldn't let go completely but hey, this was only the first day of this magnificent exercise. BIG thumbs up from me! -
Just my 2 cents regarding the level 2 DVD with Grandmaster Doo Wai: The DVD is not that detailed in its explanation regarding the exercises and breathing sequence (no graphics). You can probably learn from it but as a beginner I would begin with Terry Dunn's series because of the thorough instruction and because it lays a good foundation for higher levels. Also it is nice that we as practitioners can ask a master questions regarding the exercises. This service is not present with the level 2 DVD. It seems it is quite rare that masters are so generous with their time as Sifu Terry
