  1. The 100 day Meditation Experiment

I did it as per Way of Energy all the way to page 128 so my last exercises were filling up the balloon with water and imagining magnets pulling at my body from everywhere. Actually I also imagined I was in a river (think whitewater rafting) with a log that was almost pushing me over and I had to keep the log while maintaining the posture in the wild water. A lot of effort but it felt very nice afterwards. This idea I got from a I-Chuan training manual. Why did I discontinue? Two things: I felt I needed a teacher and I wanted to try Flying Phoenix qigong
  2. The 100 day Meditation Experiment

    Did it improve your taiji?
  3. The 100 day Meditation Experiment

I did a year of standing and I think it really increased my patience and perseverance with practises, so standing is really recommended. I am already more than 30 days in in my Intu-Flow practise so I'll just continue this.
  4. The Way of Energy

The way of power expands on the first book. The focus is mainly on martial arts rather than just health and the stances are deeper and tougher. Some of the ones I've tried were very good in generating energy. I did the way of energy one full year about 40 min per day, it was really nice. I must admit that after continuing to the way of power I felt a bit lost without a teacher since I think ZZ requires a teacher to correct your posture to really get the benefits of the practise especially if you are doing it for like 40-60 min.
  5. The "Choking Game"

My condolences to you and your family.
  6. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Weird as in weird good. (I also cannot explain it but that doesn't matter; I am trying not to over-analyse things, the monkey mind is already too talkative, no need to feed it) I'm not a native English speaker so sometimes I put in the wrong words
  7. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Junbao, I recently started doing a standing meditation (MGAMoon) for about 10 minutes before MSWine #1 + #2 and the effect is noticable, ie. energy is stronger. The funny thing is that previously I did not find MGAMoon standing anything special but today it was as powerful as the seated one is. Weird stuff It could be caused by the MSWine meditations but I'm not sure.
  8. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

The story about the origin of Flying Phoenix. River Rat: interesting that there are kicks in the meditation that you can view at flyingphoenix.us. It seems very martial?
  9. qigong styles

I don't think you can get a really powerful system working from just a book or DVD. Some sort of transmission / projection needs to be done to get things moving. People who have done Kunlun and had quick progress went to seminars. One option for learning from a DVD is Flying Phoenix qigong. However it really depends on the person. Over at dharmaoverground one guy got to stream entry in 10 months with vipassana!
  10. Will Sifu Jenny be coming to Copenhagen, Denmark? It is very close to Norway.
  11. Chi into Shen

but isn't it transmission + 100 days practise? That's quite different... but it really is quick! You are lucky.
  12. Chi into Shen

if this were correct standing would be useless, so would tai chi. So my opinion is it can be done other ways also.
  13. Wujishi Chio Gong

So is wuji style breathing just zhan zhuang?
  14. What is the GOAL of your cultivation?

You can do 4 hours per day if you sleep 5-6 hours, even though you have a job and a family. Indeed you will have less social life but that's just the way it is. when we stop seeking. There's no giving up, you keep on cultivating and when you are "done" you start helping others.

Sifu Terry, I have one question: could Monk Holding Pearl, 50 40 30 20 10, be done without holding the hands at the lower tan tien - but still having the attention at the tan tien? Reason for asking: when in a public place (airplane, bench, wherever) it would be nice to just close the eyes, do the breath sequence and not draw attention to yourself. Another question: is Volume Six, Advanced Martial Meditations also related to Flying Phoenix or is it related to Bat Deem (Din?) Gum? Any news on when it will be available?
  16. There no awakening for Kundalini

Like the 2013 sun storm? I wonder what it will do to sensitive individuals.
  17. The power of Internal Martial Arts

Could you upload the book again? And the book "Science of Neijia" if it is not the same.
  18. Dissolving inner/outer difference?

Could you explain why you are interested in this method when you already know vipassana?
  19. Dissolving inner/outer difference?

from astraldynamics.com forum: hope you find it helpful.
  20. Robert Peng's New Book

Could someone give me links to the threads where his practises were discussed? I can't seem to find that many on google searching for "robert peng site:thetaobums.com". Thanks. EDIT: found one link: link
  21. taoist practice and cycles of insight

Without kids you can do formal practise at least 3-4 hours. With one kid I practise about 2 hours a day with my current sleeping needs. But then, having a kid is also a practise itself, so maybe it is not so different after all.
  22. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

My observations so far after 8 weeks of practise: Standing: - Monk Gazing at Moon, 60 40 20: The energy is not so tangible yet - Bending the Bows, 70 50 40 30 10: sometimes arms are feeling very heavy. It somehow feels that the hair on my arms are raising as I do the movements - Monk Holding Peach, 90 50 40 20 10: I didn't feel much in the beginning but now I can feel a sort of pulse or wave of energy through my arms Seated: - Monk Gazing at Moon, 5 60 80 40 30: This exercise was strong from the beginning and is getting stronger. I can feel a kind of "buzz" in the head as I am holding the hands in the static position. When I move the hands toward myself I can feel the energy pulsing toward me. - seated number two, 50 30 10: arms feeling heavy. Wonderful exercise, just sitting there and arms going up and down. Sometimes I feel some lower back pain, what is the cause, I do not know - seated number three, 50 10 50: This took some time to activate. After a couple of times, the "buzz" is easily felt. One time I was kind of gone, another time I had a picture in my mind at the end of the meditation which was kind of precognitive. It could be worry projected as future prediction but it felt otherwise. I have not started doing the Monk Serves Wine on a daily basis yet (one month left doing the basic ones) but when I have time left for extra exercises I have done Monk Serves Wine #1 and #2. During one of these I saw blue light, I guess it is chi affecting the optic nerve (according to "Bill Bodri: How to Measure and Deepen Your Spiritual Realization"). On a side note my Tai Chi practise is going well (about 1 year of practise every day). The energy is stronger. One day the energy was going like a stream through the body. It could be caused by increased awareness (maybe by FP) but anyhow this is my observation. I know that Bill Bodri says the real chi is first felt at much later stage, he prefers to call the first signs of energy wind chi; my observation is just increased energy or awareness of energy.
  23. OBE

Robert's system was the first where I got the feeling of energy; doing Zhan Zhuang and using his methods. You will probably get disbelievers because they swear that only Chinese originated qigong works, whereas Robert's system also works even though it is not a qigong system. I haven't tried his OBE methods, maybe I'll give them another shot. I will say whatever works: sometimes multiple sources lead you to the truth.
