Zen and Mahayana are not effortless, quite the opposite. There is no effortless path in Buddhism.

'Suffering is optional' is a good inquiry to sit with 😊
-
From https://www.accesstoinsight.org/ptf/dhamma/sacca/sacca1/index.html So suffering (dukkha) is caused by craving. End of craving is end of suffering. End of craving is done by following the Buddhist teachings. Basically it is knowing your own mind by mindfulness and seeing the craving in action.

To get a glimpse, try imagining having no head, Douglas Harding style. Or do the "gone" meditation by Shinzen Young. Many short glimpses, many times until the karmic mind is exhausted.

How to attract females, a method I have used to great success. First is to really feel the Divine is supporting you in your life. This makes you less desperate and more grounded. Basically non-needy. Meditate on this every day. Think women are abundant in numbers. Meditate on this every day. Then make space for her in your life. Clean your house as if she enters tomorrow and make things in order so it is not messy. Be a man, be proud of yourself. Unlock the male energy in you, don't be afraid to take charge. Wear the nice clothes you have for impressing her and the perfume you know turns them on. Meditate on bringing in a compatible partner into your life every day. Talk to her as if she is already there. One day you will actually feel her presence and know when she arrives but there will of course be a element of surprise. This will make you a magnet for the woman of your dreams. Keep doing the meditations every day until you succeed.

Sometimes going after desire and putting a lot of effort into achieving the object you want vaccinates you against desire in the future. I know a lot of effort is against the design of the nervous system in the body, it is basically impossible to keep up the level all the time, fallback is relaxation and thus lack of desire.

I think a good marker is how relaxed are you? At least according to Namkhai Norbu. It also means suffering has decreased to almost nil or nil. Then investigation of who one is key.

There's a new book discussing the practice of Internal Alchemy. https://www.amazon.com/Internal-Alchemy-Everyone-Chungtao-Ho-ebook/dp/B07JC96GVR/ Anyone got this?

The advice to find a teacher is due to the failure of Daoist practices that focus heavily on Nei dan and dantian stuff. Self inquiry doesn't require a teacher just lots of work on your own. I can list hundreds of things you could do without a teacher.

If sex with a woman is not an option try to do something creative with the energy. Paint, do poetry, make music. I wrote a poem for my girlfriend and it felt really good. All the pent up energy that couldn't be expressed because we are apart went into the poem and my heart felt again at peace.

I found this zuowang introduction audio interesting https://www.dayuancircle.org/zuowang-introduction/ Namely its view or non-view and its non-origin

That's because you are talking about being conscious of rather than knowing your true condition. Not the same.

After practicing power yoga for approximately 5 months two times a week my coldness in hands and feet are gone. Best going to class I find as it helps you push through when otherwise you want to give up. For me it is just exercise, nothing esoteric, but helpful. -
Differences between dualism and non-dualism
johndoe2012 replied to Bindi's topic in General Discussion
The problem is a lot of spiritual people suppress their natural emotions of grief anger sadness etc. Thus you get the mental problems you see everywhere on forums. -
Hello bums I found this video helpful I also released the tendency to hold on to past hurts and resentments by using this method and my intuition. Now I am feeling so much more at peace. Hope you find it useful.

Buddha "Don't worship anything". Buddhists "With folded hands I turn to you". Me "Huh?".

I think this link is inline with your thinking https://www.quora.com/Did-the-Buddha-tell-people-to-worship-him -
Is this your experience or intellectual knowledge? I am not fascinated by intellectual knowledge anymore or impressed by the whole 'you are Brahman' since it doesn't change anything. As long as you live you will have a body. Trying to destroy that is just silly, enjoy your body while it lasts. Who cares if masters appear or don't appear physically? If they appeared physically it wouldn't prove a thing. I have met masters in flesh. After they die, the flesh is not here and they can appear in your consciousness. You seem to want to destroy your individuality, it is a wrong pursuit IMHO since your personality comes from the DNA and there is nothing wrong with it. If you accept your personality you achieve peace of mind = no suffering so no need to destroy anything but non-acceptance. What matters in daily life is the end of suffering, which the mind is capable of ending just by watching the stream of experience. Then the non dual land is near. However as we have seen in all spiritual communities very few can make the jump directly. First we have to weed out all the traumas and negative inclinations, otherwise there is too much contraction.

You seem to think average Joe on the street can keep his personality intact while achieving the yang shen stage. Not so, it requires a lot of work. Also your identification as awareness has been criticized by the buddha as not full awakening, because there is identification which hasn't been destroyed by seeing not-self, impermanence, dukkha. Edit: since you can contact / communicate with dead masters (Ramana Maharshi / Buddha Shakyuamuni etc) I consider therm immortal. So what is the difference in result?

What is virtue in daoism, can Shen be developed through it?
johndoe2012 replied to -_sometimes's topic in Daoist Discussion
If you mean De then it is your inherent nature you are uncovering through practice. If you don't have time to practice then Buddhist mantra could be a way to go or self-inquiry during the day. Some Taoist systems have a sleeping qigong practice. Some Buddhist systems have a dream practice so you can cultivate in your sleep. Good for lay people with busy lives. -
I am not sure that the yang shen achievement is a ego trip. I found three different non-taoist traditions describing their version of enlightenment: a body outside the body, one sees the body as from behind / some distance away. I showed one non-dualist the immortal child on the top of the head taoist and he said: yes that is very close to his experience.
