  1. Well THAT was different.

This thread holds the highest value per words on the entire forum. Now go practice for a year or two.
  2. So how do we get from here to there? The two largest problems the planet is facing are poverty and the environment. None of these are handled by the current politics. 60 million people die every year. About a third of those die from being poor. At the same time the industrialized nations are using the planets resources at an unsustainable level. An average American is spending about 8 times what the planet can sustain, an European about 4 or 5 times. This is unnatural and will come to an end one way or another. When that day comes most of us will have to come to terms with living on a dollar a day. This sounds extreme, but it's basically what the guy who harvested your tea makes and most of the poor majority of the world makes. So how do we get liberty for all? It's mostly a question of who controls the infrastructure. You need to control you food supply, have access to your own clean drinking water, the resources needed to heat and cool you home, medicine/sanitation and security. Once that is taken care of nothing can kill you except old age. :-) Once you have reached this point you are also free to teach how you did it to other people/ communities and give the State the finger with both hands. Call it liberty for all, human rights, the basis for anarchy or whatever. :-) I'm not calling for a revolution. What I'd like to see is an evolution towards an sustainable, free world where nobody dies of poverty. So what I'm proposing here is a different perspective on politics and ethics. States are failing, just look at Greece and Spain. The international financial system is balancing on a fine edge. To me makes the left right bickering mostly irrelevant. The only party I see that has stepped of the left -right axis to talk about relevant issues is The Pirate Party. Other that that I don't see much use for party politics. - Kris
  3. No Me?

I like to invite you to really look; If it's true that there is no me, what would change? - Kris
  4. New site for permaculture tips

Here is a couple of good links: http://www.resilientcommunities.com/ Miiu And one for those of you that like the big picture: http://globalguerrillas.typepad.com/ John Robb is the guy behind all three sites. He's what a British friend of mine calls "rather bright." Edit: Bitcoin might have some good implications. To dial down in style I find a lot of inspiration at: www.earlyretirementextreme.com
  5. Thank you for the advice. The maralroot is a strong adaptogen / tonic. I've only tried tea made mostly from dried leaves. The effects where very promising. The roots are supposed to be where the really good stuff is. I'm exited to see the effects from root grown with care and harvested on the right time. I get overexcited every time I find something valuable that I can grow in my climate (90-100 day growing season)
  6. Do you fertilize them the same as you would tomatoes to? Did you get fruit the first year? 3 of my plants are 2 years old this spring. I'm exited to see if they will bear fruit this year. The quality should be great as I have almost 24 hour sunlight during summer. Can't wait for spring to come. I've got some maralroot that should be ready to harvest this year to.
  7. Do you grow your own goji berries? I have two plants in the ground and 4 more ready to plant next spring. Could need some advice from somebody with goji growing experience.
  8. Human Growth Hormone (HGH) experiences?

I could trade you in Chinese mountain herbs from my own garden. We might just have the beginning of a transatlantic smuggling operation here. Don't say nothing good ever comes from Internet discussion forums....
  9. Human Growth Hormone (HGH) experiences?

Thank you, but I believe there would be a problem importing it where I am
  10. Human Growth Hormone (HGH) experiences?

I like to boost my HGH levels by doing intermittent fasting + strength training. It takes a bit more effort, but I'm more comfortable doing it a more natural way. Plus I get all the other benefits of IF. I could go for some of that lu rong jiu if I was able to get my hands on some. -Kris
  11. Good topic. I'll be interesting to see how people combine stuff. Random list of what i do: -t-handle swings twice a week. - sprinting/ original tabata protocol every 10 days. - 3- 5 hours of hard physical work or trekking per week - Target Focus Training Leg Dynamics - IntoFlow - Trauma Release Protocol - WuJi-gong (when ever i feel like it) - I dabble in circle walking and other bagua related stuff... - Kunlun Dragon. - And most importantly my main nei kung practice aka "The good stuff"
  12. Big Mind Big Heart

I used to practice Big Mind quite a bit. When you have done it a few times it gets easier to access the "non-dual states" fast and to bring them of the meditation seat and into the world. I agree that it's not the next turning of the wheel, but it's a good preview of higher states of development. It kind of pries open the door to non dual states in a fast and gentle way. Fast and gentle isn't something you get everyday in this game. Since Big Mind is so easy to do I don't see why anybody shouldn't do it at least once. The basic practice used to be available on youtube and/or on the bigmind.org website for free. - Kris
  13. Greetings from Norway

Hei og velkommen, Eivind - Kris
  14. Body armour, trauma, David Berceli

I've used TRE for several months now and highly recommend it. Berceli recommends doing the exercises three times a week for the first month. I did and experienced great benefits. It's still part of my weekly regime. IME TRE is an efficient and very gentle way to release trauma (and the psoas)
  15. Do any Taobums speak foreign languages?

Norwegian, English, German, some Spanish and a few words Polish and Hungarian. I might give Arabic a go next.
  16. Is there a preferred white rice?

    Basmati. - Kris
  17. What are good meditation lengths?

Or you can get this random timer... - Kris
  18. Taoist Problem Solving Methods

Dreaming practices are one way to go. The modern equivalent (for your use) would be something like Win Wengers Image Streaming. - Kris
  19. fusing souls or ascension?

OK. Let's use the Toltec system and translate it into (something closer to) plain English. The Tonal is all that is known. The Nagual is everything unknown. Recapitulation is a practice that completely heals me in terms of my personal history. The end result is CLARITY. Dreaming is another practice where I bring "stuff" from the unknown into the known. The result of this is POWER. Stalking helps me discover all the stupid stuff I do. The result of stalking is STRENGTH. Once I have clarity, power and strength I'm ready to "erase personal history." (Jump into the abyss / kill the ego or what ever) The trick is to pick the practice that fits my personality. If I am the type of person that over-thinks everything, I need to recapitulate and gain clarity. I would get some benefits from dreaming and stalking, but the magic will only begin to happen when I recapitulate. The same goes for a stalker or a dreamer. They need to master stalking or dreaming first. Then they can move on to the other areas. In my humble opinion this general framework is pretty universal. Even though I have written in "simplified toltec" here the map still fits even if the practices are taoist, egyptian, tibetan or shamanic. Humbly, Kris
  20. fusing souls or ascension?

Tell me what you think when you've read it. - Kris
  21. fusing souls or ascension?

The two "souls." Like the Egyptian Ka and Ba? The Toltec Nagual and Tonal? The taoist Heaven and Earth? Peter Novaks binary soul doctorine /dual soul theory? It's pretty much the core question in any esoteric system, isn't it? Peace, Kris
  22. NLP

Agreed. Skillfull use of NLP gives you the ability to create win-win solutions. Why use it to create anything less? -Kris
  23. NLP

I've played with NLP over the last 6 or so years. The basic skill in NLP is the ability take a genius and copy what she does so that you consistently get the same result and put it into a format that anybody can use. This is called modelling. Almost everything that is called NLP today is the result of this proccess. Very few bother to learn and practice modelling in any real way. The result is that there are lots of practitioners and trainers out there that teaches patterns without any deeper understanding of NLP. The really helpful stuff in my oppinion comes from John Grinder. If you want to experience the real razors edge of NLP go train with him. If you're a taoist you will see wu wei in action, if you're a buddhist you'll experience the definition of skillfull means, if you're into zen you will see somebody acting with mushin and so on. I'm not kidding. The most accessible source of "Grinder style" NLP is probably the book "Turtles All the Way Down: Prerequisites to Personal Genius" This is a seminar transcript from the eighties. There is also a MP3 of the seminar (Prerequisites to Personal Genius)floating around the internet that is even better than the book. The content is a bit dated, but it will get you there if you do the work. When you chooose to explore other NLP-stuff this will give you the right foundation and something to measure everything else against. (And you will explore NLP, won't you? NOW.. ) The newest book "Wispering in the Wind" is only recommended for the bravest of the brave. The content is pretty up to date, but is written in a way that is less than accessible. In my personal life I use NLP to reach "spritual goals." Some NLP patterns are extreamly effective compared to the methods used in most traditions. - Kris
  24. Military Training

Hi, I'd get hold of a pair of regulation boots and a regulation back pack. Don't start out running in boots and with a lot of weight! You want to ease into it. Start taking long walks with a good pace and light weight and increase the load gradually. This training will build some real endurance and you will avoid getting blisters when you start BT. (BTW learn to take care of your feet. ) For general fitness I'd go with Scott Sonnons Tacfit. ( http://www.rmaxinternational.com/tacfit/# ) or at least Flowfit ( https://rmaxinternational.3dcartstores.com/FlowFit_p_152.html ) Both will let you progress at the right pace for you and help you avoid injury. Check out the army manual to. As you get in better overall shape you can focus on the exact stuff you are going to do every day. Rmax has a great forum. I got a lot of help there when I started out with their stuff. I haven't checked it out in a while, but i guess it's still there. The world need more taoist warriors. Best of luck to you. Kris
  25. The Double Bind

John Grinder, the co-founder of NLP, was a protege of Bateson. He states that you need to generate at least 5 options before you make a decision. A New Code NLP practitioner would use a pattern called "N-step reframe." (google it) Another (less elegant) method would be to dissociate from the situation and generate your 5 options while in a resourceful state of mind. Enjoy, Kris
