  1. Parental Qigong

Thanks! The Animal Frolics sound like kids stuff I should check them out. My kids like to do some hatha yoga from time to time. And my 3-year old boy does the coolest looking Panther Stretch
  2. Surely I'm not enlightened..

It's foolish to let any herb fuck up your daily meditation, whether you use it or not!
  3. Surely I'm not enlightened..

Cannabis will trigger some things. It does not mean these things would not come to you without that trigger, but it might take another kind of powerful experience. For some people the weed comes at a bad time, or they can not drop it when needed. If you have emotional issues, I recommend to deal with them with as much clarity as possible, this means no smoking till you feel grounded and clear and there's no depression or aggressiveness in your daily life. Taoist exercices and time can help you deal with emotional problems and crisises. Even when you feel you're stable enough it's better to keep the habit in check, maybe smoking once or twice once a month if at all. Most schools of meditation I've heard about seem to agree that if a more advanced meditation/Chi work is your goal then cannabis is not a good idea.
  4. Is this a valuable book to start with?

First I felt it's somewhat strict and dry in a 80's style and it bothered me. Now it doesn't bother anymore. Lots of info & inspiration in it.
  5. Chi packed breakfast dishes?

Carrot juice, freshly extracted... Any fresh fruit and vegetable.
  6. fasting

Regarding regular straight water fasting I have studied in Ayurvedic books that it is not good for people with a frail or light constitution or a hot temper and digestion (Vata or Pitta types) to fast for more than 3-4 days. Weakness and illness may occur since fasting increases both Vata (air, movement, ether) and Pitta (fire, assimilation). For people with good health and robust structure (Kapha) even 7 or more days of fasting may be ok.
  7. Lovely warmth in my lower dan tien

All it really means is "keep practicing" ....now that's a Taobums kinda answer
  8. What Have You Opened?

I answered MCO. I'm not certain of the macrocosmic, though I can definitely move energy around my arms and legs how I wish. There may be some points that aren't fully flowing. My back channel has opened much since I started daily practice with the Small Universe meditation CD that came with SFQ Level 1. Before this I could feel chi moving about and creating pressure and/or heat in all places except the lower back. In fact I found it hard to really feel to the lower part of the spine. Now I feel more connected to it and I feel pleasant warmth in my kidneys by just concentrating on that area for a while. Kundalini.... I've had experiences like spontanious whole-body orgasms, spontanious laughter/tearing, feelings of high-voltage electricity going up my spine, extatic bliss, all these in meditation or during breathing/walking exercise. But I don't know if it's Kundalini or just some other things happening.
  9. Taoism and Heavy Metal Music

I LOVE this song, and many others by Cohen. This is especially hypnotic.
  10. Taoism and Heavy Metal Music

Haha, I listened to Aghora's clip for a while and just thought it's ok.. Then I was about to shut it down when the second intense part started and suddenly I began to laugh and tear. Yes there is juice in the music, something I still feel working though it's not playing anymore. Thanks.
  11. Healing & healing.. Flexible mind and energetic body with reasonably balanced emotions is the target. SFQ whenever I get the chance (30-60 min a day) is how I'm riding. "We don't need no more trouble" -B. Marley
  12. the power, to send, Qi, Chi, energy, out of the body!

Anyone can send Qi out of their body. Only you need to be well cultivated yourself to be able to push people around etc. more "amazing kewl" stuff. But to help open other people's (or animals, or plants') energy blockages for example, or just to give them some good energy, all you need to do is ask for loving energy from the universe or whoever represents the universe to you. Then guide that energy through your fingers to break blockages. Then pull the blockage out with your fingers. Repeat several times. Then give healing, comforting energy through your palm. I'm not a very "high level" practicioner but I've been able to heal headaches, stomach pains, muscle tightness, respiration problmes etc. using this "sword fingers" method described in Spring Forest Qigong.
  13. My most certain indicator of progress

That's right.. in reality she smelled like poop and cigarettes
  14. Fasting problem

Depending on what youre after with your fast, it might be more useful to fast for several days in a row, since during the first three days of fast a lot of toxins and other accumulated stuff starts moving in your circulation. According to what I've read in "The tao of health sex and longevity" By Danie Reid among others, this causes weakness and nausea. Then should follow a period of lightness and more energy. I would guess that if you first hold this kind of purification fast it's then easier to skip meals or have one fasting day a week, for example. I'm hoping to be able to fast for a week sometime in the future, but I have three kids to care for so I don't think it would be convenient.. My nerves are at test daily even with steady nutrition.
  15. Out of your 20s, into your 30s

Yesss. Meditation etc. won't necessarily give you what you want, but it can help you accept not getting what you want.. And after that you may even become quite happy not getting what you wanted, but getting what you needed.. in my case, a smoother flow of life and more spontanious joy out of nothing particular.
  16. Out of your 20s, into your 30s

Haha, I feel I'm doing something special, the practise has changed me already, my life has improved, and I'm not quite as affected by certain aspects of my life that I used to feel in a negative way. But the main reason I started this was because I have a family with three kids and I was simply not capable of handling the pressure.. I was fatigued and often depressed. So I turned to yogic practices because their promise was to be healed and energized. It took 4 years of practice and going from system to system, finally the simplest possible Qigong, before I started to feel consistent results on a daily basis. Of course I don't know how things would've turned out if I never did any of these exercises, that's simply impossible. But my faith in the healing powers of Qigong is strong and growing... Most of the people I've given Qi treatments to, including my kids & (ex)wife, have received benefits from it like relief of headache, stomach ache, back pains etc. In fact my ex is constantly demanding that I work on her because it makes her feel good and get sleep easier. It's true that the power of these practices depends on your situation and attitude. They aren't supposed to put you somewhere above daily existence and its challenges, although the high you get from meditation might put you up there for a while
  17. Getting to full lotus

I'm still somewhat stiff so when I go to the full lotus I sometimes bring my legs back straight after a while of enduring the strain. Then when I go into lotus again it feels much easier and after that I can sit for the half hour as I do the Small Universe. It does start to feel uncomfortable towards the end but at the same time kind of "super charged".
  18. Out of your 20s, into your 30s

I'm soon 30,my kids are growing up and I'm feeling ready for the Tao
  19. Getting to full lotus

Chunyi Lin says if you can sit for a minute today, 2 minutes tomorrow, not mind the pain so much and keep on going then it will help open your channels and make you more flexible all in all. So full lotus is a stretch in itself
  20. Tao Bums's emotional vampires

Some people seem to hallucinate that their well can be filled by pouring in someone else's water. Others realise they have to find a proper ground for their source and dig deeper
  21. Tao Bums's emotional vampires

It's often more or less of a vampire/vampire relationship when it comes to emotional energy. There may be severely needy cases who simply suck you off trying to fill up their bottomless pit, but in most cases I've seen it's both parties who are needy of something the other has, but the exchange doesn't work in a positive way for either of them. In this kind of relationship it's too easy to label the other person as a "vampire". Internet forums are another thing.. It is somehow depleting to read posts written with a negative attitude. I'm not sure if vampirism is the right word for it though.
  22. Is it possible to change?

In reply to the question in the topic, a short story: I had a wife I felt great passion towards. But she wanted to sleep with another guy. I said go ahead. Then she said she can't live with me anymore. That was the heaviest crisis I can recall. I felt all kinds of negative feelings. I decided to forgive her and stay friends since we have children together.. It's been 8 months and I now feel clear of the anger, jealousy, bitterness, etc. And I feel stronger than ever, everything is better.. So yes, it's possible to change..you. I guess I should add that a while ago the ex-wife proposed that we move in to live together again. I said no, don't want to live in the same household with her.. haha, when she left I would've done whatever to get her back, now, even though I still love her and feel great desire for her when she's around, I know what's good for me and what's not, so no thanks.. Peace&blessings
  23. Is it possible to change?

  24. Is it possible to change?

He's probably realised that by now..
  25. Is it possible to change?

Yeeah, in the real world the dynamics seems to be that the more you cling to her, the wilder she will get.. hehe. So build your own magnetic field by being stronger within yourself and dissolve all neediness for her. No, it's not easy, it can be fucking horrible, been there This may mean she ends up leaving, which she would have anyway. Or she might feel much more attracted to your masculine independence. But basicly you shouldn't give a shit. This will be possible with practice. BTW if you haven't already studied David Shade's material I suggest you check it out. If not to keep this woman, then to keep the next good one. And if not to keep any woman, then just to educate yourself
