How do I shut off this negative dialog in my brain?
~jK~ replied to Snowdoggie's topic in General Discussion
If you can do construction work - here is an estimator: http://www.craftsman-book.com/ The rest can be found in books at home depot such as Modern Carpentry. (All trades revolve around Carpentry.) Plumbing is easy and gets about 35$ to50$ an hour. If you're up north - pipes will begin to thaw soon and realators will be looking. Cheap advertisement is a must as is the wording: "Handyman Steve" got 10 times the calls as Steve's Handyman service - people didn't want a bunch of learning kids trapsing around - they wanted the boss to do the work... If there is no cheap advertising - begin a free handout and offer the advertising for about 5 to 10$ an ad. I saw one guy put a newspaper out of business with one - (The newspaper was charging 50$ per ad.) Your worst enemies are TV and yourself. Buisy hands are happy hands. A fishing pole gets food, 'Can make nets with fishing line. I fed 30 families in the 1980's economic crunch with a 10'X 100' drag net that I made. A cheap trailer and a ball hitch for the bumper from U-Haul turns a car into a truck. 250$ buys a paint sprayer that can make 1,500 $ a day when painting a 2 story house. The list is actually endless and limited only by your lack of controll over your head and the #1 enemy of TV. I saw a guy once that sharpened a flathead screwdriver and carved peoples name in driftwood that made 400 $ a day on a beach. Another learned how to weave sun hats out of weeds, palm tree leaves etc... Old chickenwire fencing makes fish traps. As long as you got a computer and can read - Free information on how to do is as close as your computer. During hard times - the gov't will look the other way untill you get enough buisiness to keep you going - so no need for a license etc - unless you do bad work & someone complains. Take care - -
Dang - you can see through my B/S... To come back down to tera cota (~..~) I have been able to create a semi quiet mind with a borderline schizophrenic through suggestion techniques. The problem comes from a dependency forming on their part to a synthetic system. But at least there has now been a time when their mind was clear of all -even meds- and now they know what is on the other side -waiting for them. Kinda like a carrot on a stick method used to lead a horse where you want them to go.

Maybe yes -and maybe no- does it ride on which way doo your thoughts goo? Self-hypnosis as self-hyphonating is a bit of a bite for me shallow minde. Conscious or Dreaming, will it be in reality there only one way to be free! Do I use hypnosis to teach empty mind needed or`s it only focus hokus pokus? Say Either Way-Form must Follow Function! If you're to get standing junction.

M, In my travels through the U. world, one of my fields of interest has been hydrology from the chemist viewpoint. What it seems they are talking about with this is just adding common sea salt crystals to distilled water and maybe another unknown chemical that would raise the PH to 8.5 which is about the same as in a bar of soap. As for myself, I drink only distilled water as it is the same as rainwater -without the pollution- and take vitamin supplements with minerals. About 5 days ago, I have also begun with a very small amount of Turmeric, about 1/10 of a spoonful, which is about the size of one of my vitamin capsules. So far, I like the results of an increase in mental clarity/focus. Here is a bit of an article on it: http://www.healthdiaries.com/eatthis/20-health-benefits-of-turmeric.html "Turmeric is one of nature's most powerful healers. The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin. Tumeric has been used for over 2500 years in India, where it was most likely first used as a dye. The medicinal properties of this spice have been slowly revealing themselves over the centuries. Long known for its anti-inflammatory properties, recent research has revealed that turmeric is a natural wonder, proving beneficial in the treatment of many different health conditions from cancer to Alzheimer's disease. Here are 20 reasons to add turmeric to your diet: 1. It is a natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent, useful in disinfecting cuts and burns. 2. When combined with cauliflower, it has shown to prevent prostate cancer and stop the growth of existing prostate cancer. 3. Prevented breast cancer from spreading to the lungs in mice. 4. May prevent melanoma and cause existing melanoma cells to commit suicide. 5. Reduces the risk of childhood leukaemia. 6. Is a natural liver detoxifier. 7. May prevent and slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease by removing amyloyd plaque buildup in the brain. 8. May prevent metastases from occurring in many different forms of cancer. 9. It is a potent natural anti-inflammatory that works as well as many anti-inflammatory drugs but without the side effects. 10. Has shown promise in slowing the progression of multiple sclerosis in mice. 11. Is a natural painkiller and cox-2 inhibitor. 12. May aid in fat metabolism and help in weight management. 13. Has long been used in Chinese medicine as a treatment for depression. 14. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, it is a natural treatment for arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. 15. Boosts the effects of chemo drug paclitaxel and reduces its side effects. 16. Promising studies are underway on the effects of turmeric on pancreatic cancer. 17. Studies are ongoing in the positive effects of turmeric on multiple myeloma. 18. Has been shown to stop the growth of new blood vessels in tumors. 19. Speeds up wound healing and assists in remodeling of damaged skin. 20. May help in the treatment of psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions. Turmeric can be taken in powder or pill form. It is available in pill form in most health food stores, usually in 250-500mg capsules. Once you start using turmeric on a regular basis, it's fun to find new ways to use it in recipes. My favourite way to use it is to add a pinch of it to egg salad. It adds a nice flavour and gives the egg salad a rich yellow hue. Contraindications: Turmeric should not be used by people with gallstones or bile obstruction. Though turmeric is often used by pregnant women, it is important to consult with a doctor before doing so as turmeric can be a uterine stimulant." The Yoga of Concentration and Meditation for Opening The 3rd Eye Chakra
~jK~ replied to ~jK~'s topic in General Discussion
How does all of this tie in ? The first post: I meditated -lightly- while keeping the right side of my nose stopped for about 35 minuites today. It was like shuting off part of the air supply to 1/2 of my brain. It was a little like oxygen starvation, but not a lot like O2 starvation, but rather more like super oxegenation for the open side. I wasn't concentrating much as I was watching the news so as to time myself. I used ear plugs to close off 1/2 of my nose - but I would think that a bit of tissue would work as well. I plan to add it to my morning Kundalini meditation after I do the 5 Tibetans exercises as the 3rd eye is considered to be a Chakra... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What I am experiencing is a gradual change in perception during meditation and what is appearing to be an ability to mentaly contact with others. Example: a lady dropped an object out of her purse on the floor while riding on a train and sitting about 5 seets away from me. I thought to get her attention by trying to mentaly contact her - it worked as she changed her view from out the window to look directly into my eyes. I pointed to the object she had dropped, she picked it up and thanked me... I tried it last night at 3 AM with one of my girl friends and she called in less than 30 seconds. Beforehand, we had never talked later than about 12M. -

Hi B/T, I look to see where the master got the beginning and pretty much copy it. Many have defined what The Buddha did. What I can see is that: Buddha meditated. So - I meditate. It works. In Buddhas day there was no real sharing of information. It feels like being in a mind candy shop for meditation.

This one will get you started: http://www.aafengshui.com/ but Eva Wong's books will take you throughout Taoism in a stepping stone staircase manner... She is a master communicator with a close relative (Sifu level) that teachers her the Tao. In my travels I have left Cleary books at library book drops but I keep Eva's books - particularly: "Cultivating Stillness"...

For a beginning, I use the runners groin stretch and riding my bike. I also do meditation during this time that is designed for different purposes - but needs the energy - Tantric Yoga is a good study but don't expect to master it in one life... http://www.google.com.au/#hl=en&source=hp&q=Tantric+Yoga&btnG=Google+Search&meta=&aq=f&oq=&fp=2de49ba9ead933c3 If you live near a University dorm - I would move away until your problems become less and then move beck to intensify them - reasoning is the pheromones women secrete that are designed by evolution to work on the male and do - well I think you know what it do. Watch your body during this time as hair grows much more quickly - which - Taoists point to symbolizing the healing potential of the body during different phases of the moon. Battles were fought in conjunction with the phases of the moon and it was common knowledge for the men not to have sex before battles... It is a really good time to begin aerobic exercises that will both use up your excess energy and improve you as a person. Meditate with empty mind after each exercise.

Real Studies That Document Electromagnetic Anomalies With Qigong Masters

These studies have been going on since the 1930's when Kirlian photography was discovered http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirlian_photography Person's energy changing as meditation deepens. http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Jo7lJoQhtjw/SmdOo5FN9XI/AAAAAAAAITM/nJu7sjxT3L4/s400/aura%2Bglowing%2Bhand%2BKirlian%2Bphotography.jpg&imgrefurl=http://wisdomquarterly.blogspot.com/2009/07/science-confirms-human-aura.html&usg=__HvM3n5QaIC8PdYiAZSv2eSMxA8M=&h=115&w=154&sz=5&hl=en&start=17&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=EKuPBMYIZeI9RM:&tbnh=72&tbnw=96&prev=/images%3Fq%3DKirlian%2Bphotography%2Bmonks%2Bmeditating%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26tbs%3Disch:1 http://images.google.com.au/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=Kirlian+photography&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2&aq=f&oq= -
For whatever it is worth, I'm convinced that the "Golden flower" is a text on Kundalini meditation. "The Secret of the Golden Flower" contains pictures of Kundalini techniques. Using T5T, I've been able to moderate these effects: http://www.kundaliniawakeningsystems1.com/downloads/kundalini_checklist.pdf

100% CELIBACY tain't normal or natural. Well, this is what my girlfriends tell me. With this said - I got to say that I've been experimenting with T5T from the original book that The 5 Tibetians was taken from titled: The Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth by Peter Kelder. Download it here, read it before lunch. http://www.kundaliniawakeningsystems1.com/downloads/ancient_secret_of_the_fountain_of_youth_peter_kelder.pdf What I find is that when I am Celibate, my body heals more quicky, my hair grows more quicky and in general I am more quicky, my girlfriends keep saying quicky? Also I am more energetic etc... With the energy raising exercises there is more there to work with and results are better. BUT - There have been a few times when I orgasimed that it literally burned which, I don't think this is a good idea -so- I've backed off a notch from 100% to about once a week to once every 2 weeks... His name is Rodney but we call him Rod 'cause he's always talking about fishing. The last I talked to him, about 10 years ago, he still lived in Savannah, Ga. I moved to Hong Kong and kinda lost touch... There is this about: Philosophical Taoism, Religious Taoism, and Practicing Taoism - but it's kinda long: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taoism From what I see in Hong Kong - Religious Taoist temples have a lot to do with Ancestor worship as Reincarnation is real. Philosophical Taoism is practiced as going with the flow, the binary sides of perspective and points like listed on this website: http://www.weiwuwei.8k.com/bits.html As for the Practicing Taoism - it can only be living the Taoist way - the foods, the exercises, the medicine, the meditation, etc. There are female Taoists but rare - I've only seen one in 10 years. Buddhist nuns are fairly common although not as many as there are Buddhist monks. This lady,Elizabeth Reninger, About.com Guide, writes quite a bit about Taoism - I think she has a degree or 2 in it - here is a webpage by her to get you started on Taoist hollidays as Taoism is largely about the timings of the Universe. http://taoism.about.com/od/holidays/a/holidays2010.htm

Wrinkle your nose, wiggle your toes, strike a pose ! Our mind controlls our body or at least mine does most o da time. Ifin our kundalini is an electrical connection, then mentaly relaxing the area concerned while deep breathing will un-do the kinks while increasing the flow. Ifin you do a few limbering up exercises, it may also help to reinstall the flow towards its normal way. The 5 Tibetans worked for me -with no more of an adverse reaction than a few orgasmic style risings of the flow as it burst through a blocked chakra. It do feel good - but people were bothering a bit, on da bus, when asking me what I was smoking... I told them it was Kundalini and they wanted to know where to get it and I told them it came from India. They just smiled and said that they had always heard that India had the best. I stuck my nose in the air and says "Yup".

It is interesting to see that you have defined us, best, in your beginning sentence and the ending sentence. Welcome, Makyea. We study philosophy, exercises and mental cultivation from the Chinese perspective. The philosophy is like the history of China - it is long and deep in thought. The exercises will help you make friends and keep a healthy body. The internal (mental) cultivation is about meditation. Meditation helps you to have a clear, healthy, mind. My favorite book that covers aspects of this is "The Five Tibetans" It is short, can be found in second hand book shops and still being printed. Here it is online: http://www.amazon.com/Five-Tibetans-Dynamic-Exercises-Personal/dp/0892814500 Here is a description of the book: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Tibetan_Rites My best friend is from Minnesota and looks enough like you to be your brother.

The extreme of ignorance is to study a philosophy that is originated and developed 1/2 of the way around the world - for the majority of you - and expect it to be within your own levels of experience. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

The truth being of the I Ching(s) is that they are not a book - but rather a style of writing. The style is to examine a subject from 8 different sides and then to subdivide it for further analysis. Once you get past the interpreters - you can begin to understand them. It seems that attaching your name to the I Ching is considered the way to try to make people think you are intelligent - although - by interpreting them with confusion - it proves the opposite. The Chinese have a saying: "Complications are a way of telling lies". (Albert Einstein wrote in childlike simple phrases) One point I forgot to add is that the Chinese name for the I Ching symbol is BaGua - which means literaly "Language of 8" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ba_gua
