The Yoga of Concentration and Meditation for Opening The 3rd Eye Chakra
~jK~ replied to ~jK~'s topic in General Discussion
"definitely try this and that it is giving me new' risings' AKA: better energy flow - which is directed at the third eye chakra." The risings are very simular to those I experienced when beginning the kundalini exercises some years ago... but they started at the throat chakra rather than the base of the spine. -

The Yoga of Concentration and Meditation for Opening The 3rd Eye Chakra

I've noticed a few changes in my energy flow so decided to give it another try last night. At this point, 12 hours after the last experiment, I need to return to my traditional method of not influencing the results of those experimenting with this procedure and just say that I would definitely try this and that it is giving me new' risings' AKA: better energy flow - which is directed at the third eye chakra. -
How Many Brass and Woodwind musicians are in here?
~jK~ replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
Musical instruments develop the Right and Left lobe of the brain equaly as well as fostering a communication flow between the two. And the ability to be ambidexterious - not only with the hands and limbs but also within the scope of timing. Confucious is one of China's well known musicians - The Confucian, Buddhist and Taoist monestary in Hong Kong, the Yuen Yuen Institute has open house days where there are musicians playing various Taoist musical instruments - in particular the flute - as well as Taoist arts in Gardening - they also have a tremendous Buffet ... http://mehongkong.com/eng/attractions/culture-yuenyuen-institute.html By the way, I play the tenor and alto Chinese Xun, tenor, bass, alto and soprano Ocarina, tenor, bass, alto and soprano Recorder; 32, 16 and 10 hole Harmonicas; C and D scale Irish tin whistle and am a classical level hillbilly whistler - Back home we have to whistle when we walk in the woods to keep people from mistaking us for a deer and shooting us ... Most deer cannot whistle ---but they is learning... In Hong Kong, Musical instruments are really -really cheap. But - they usually need the final tweeking to be done by the buyer... Hey - I just noticed that the time listed by the 'edited by' at the bottom is right! In HK, it is now 9:12 AM -
Shure you have - - - that is why you use "LaoWai" - "Gweilo" is the common term -meaning "white devil" that has been used since the 16th century.

The Yoga of Concentration and Meditation for Opening The 3rd Eye Chakra
~jK~ replied to ~jK~'s topic in General Discussion
Update: It has been a few days since the original posting on this subject - whereas I have noticed that the Left side of my nostral has remained more clear than the Right... not only when meditating but for 24 hours a day. It is very much like an open channel of air rushing across the 3rd eye area. During this time, I have administered my Chelation therapy - which sounds complicated but only consists of eating 3 pickeled beets - I do it every New year. Which -since it removes metalic salts (electrolytic compounds) - it makes me a little depressed AKA: unable to notice the positive results of an exercise... Today I began my multivitamin/mineral replacement which will make me more normal... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelation_therapy http://www.angelfire.com/az/sthurston/acid_alkaline_foods_list.html Even with the adverse reaction - I am feeling a noticeable opening of my mind - but where will it lead? -
A word of advice: Know before you go ! Consider this: Only since 1997 has Hong Kong been returned to China from England's rule, 1999 for Macau from Portugal - and the entire nation of China has only recently emerged from +250 years of foreign ocupation in 1949 -by almost every developed nation with the additional torture on a nationwide scale of forced opium addiction by England. In many - many places in China they have never seen foreigners or blue eyes - they only know and remember what has been done to their ancestors by those that look like you ...

Alcohol as being the shit of one of the lowest life forms on earth does take some bad chemicals out of our system -such as MonoSodiumGlumate (MSG) -which is also the shit of bacteria- but it puts more into us than it takes out. 'Better sometimes to just find a corner and spank the shit out of your monkey.

This is a good and ancient topic & one that I have practiced for many years. The Yogis say that the way to awaken is like a cat. "Bamboo in the Snow" Is famous art in China. Bamboo survives as it remains flexable. This is a philosophy used in life. One cannot even walk in the street or the shopping malls without it.

The Yoga of Concentration and Meditation for Opening The 3rd Eye Chakra
~jK~ replied to ~jK~'s topic in General Discussion
I meditated -lightly- while keeping the right side of my nose stopped for about 35 minuites today. It was like shuting off part of the air supply to 1/2 of my brain. It was a little like oxygen starvation, but not a lot like O2 starvation, but rather more like super oxegenation for the open side. I wasn't concentrating much as I was watching the news so as to time myself. I used ear plugs to close off 1/2 of my nose - but I would think that a bit of tissue would work as well. I plan to add it to my morning Kundalini meditation after I do the 5 Tibetans exercises as the 3rd eye is considered to be a Chakra... -

In China, the development of perseverance, patience and tolerance, are considered to be key factors of the Sage's development. The three highly desired traits are symbolized by the character: 忍 that is drawn with two swords suspended over a beating heart.

The copyright by Stuart Olsen is from 1992. "Since the Copyright Act of 1976, copyright would last for the life of the author plus 50 years, or 75 years for a work of corporate authorship. The Act extended these terms to life of the author plus 70 years and for works of corporate authorship to 120 years after creation or 95 years after publication, whichever endpoint is earlier.[1] Copyright protection for works published prior to January 1, 1978 was increased by 20 years to a total of 95 years from their publication date." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonny_Bono_Copyright_Term_Extension_Act If you want to give advice - at least get the facts straight first.

Water is a polar molecule - so it will respond to a magnet Although... water in nature is not exposed to a magnet. I have only drank distilled water - for about 15 years - as this is 'almost' the form of pure rainwater. I did do a study on vitamins and minerals back in 1980's and take vitamin supliments as well as minerals to make up what is missing in foods etc. Water pipes the world over contribute to many-many diseases from heavy metals in contact with chlorine, flourine etc... which make water soluable salts such as iron fluoride, copper chloride, copper fluoride, feo2(iron rust) etc... all are at various levels of toxicity. I say 'almost like rain water' as pure rainwater is a mild solution of water and hydrogen peroxide which is formed as it falls through the atmosphere. I have made a small ozone generator from a a bug light and an aquarium pump that recreates the hydrogen peroxide solution that is in pollution free rain water. The hydrogen peroxide molecule is, as you can see, different from the water molecule as are their properties. In nature the hydrogen peroxidein rain water is a very mild bleach that helps to keep thinge disease free. - If you decide to try to make your own solution of rain water - I would not let the experiment run longer than 4 to 6 hours with a small aquarium pump.

Awakened one, in the west, means Enlightened In Chinese Lao Tze = 'Old Child' -means Enlightened one. Both convey the same as the enlightening process is simply rebirth. A second time around with the process of Genetic Knowledge being reinstalled. The method is written in many places: Stopping of all thoughts, and the first breath. Back to your question: I would take a copy of The Jade Emperor's Mind Seal Classic and ask "What do you think of this?" "Jade Emperor's Mind Seal Classic 1. The Supreme Medicine has three distinctions: Ching (essence), Qi (vitality) and Shen (spirit), which are elusive and obscure. 2. Keep to nonbeing, yet hold on to being and perfection is yours in an instant. 3. When distant winds blend together, in one hundred days of spiritual work And morning recitation to the Shang Ti, Then in one year you will soar as an immortal. 4. The sages awaken through self-cultivation; Deep, profound, their practices require great effort. 5. Fulfilling vows illumines the Heavens. 6. Breathing nourishes youthfulness. 7. Departing from the Mysterious, entering the female. It appears to have perished, yet appears to exist. Unmoveable, it's orgin is mysterious. 8. Each person has Ching. The Shen unites with the Ching, The Shen unites with the Qi, The breath then unites with the true nature, These terms appear to be fanciful exaggerations. 9. The Shen is capable of entering stone; The Shen is capable of physical flight. Entering water it is not drowned; Entering fire it is not burned. 10. The Shen depends on life form; The Ching depends on sufficient Qi. If these are neither depleted nor injured the result will be youthfulness and longevity. 11. These three distinctions have one principle, Yet so subtle it cannot be heard. 12. Their meeting results in existence, their parting results in nonexistence. 13. The seven apertures interpenetrate and each emits wisdom light. 14. The sacred sun and sacred moon Illumuniate the Golden Court. One attainment is eternal attainment. 15. The body will naturally become weightless. When the supreme harmony is replete, the bone fragments become like winter jade. 16. Acquiring the Elixir results in immortality, not acquiring it results in extinction. 17. The Elixir is within yourself, It is not white and not green. 18. Recite and hold ten thousand times. These are the subtle principles of self-illumination. (Lu Szu-hsing's appended verses) 19. The two images of the dragon and tiger are unified through Qi; Chaos blending as One. 20. It is not possible to attain the eternal just through invocations. 21. The Elixir is called Green Dragon and White Tiger; The Elixir is in the nature of no-nature, Emptiness of nonemptiness. 22. Even if you are unable to make use of the substance, You can certainly make use of the function. 23. Frequently both the substance and conditions for the substance appear together, although these are not always percieved as identical. 24. The ancients said, "the term *emptiness* embraces the entire teaching." * Transliterated by Stuart Olson" ***Note My copy of the book has the same as above in Chinese. It has 2 titles - depending on the publishing date One is: "The Jade Emperor's Mind Seal Classic" The other is: "The Jade Emperor's Mind Seal Classic: The Taoist Guide to Health, Longevity, and Immortality" It is written in so many places that writers, that copy it, are being taken to court for plagurism. I think that Stuart Olson was the first to translate it into English and other languages.

John, There are two explanations that I am familiar with whereas both are results of the raising of your levels of meditation, understanding and application of technique. As the Kundalini rises, it creates an orgasm like feeling - sometimes intense - and sometimes just a good feeling shiver up your spine. The second, as is interpreted by Raja Yoga, has to do with the realignment of your spirit into it's natural position/functions and comes from correcting abnormalities that have developed from the opposite forces that have created the healing. It seems you are at the age of trying to understand things by thinking with your pecker. (Mine ain't got no brain just big balls) Enjoy this phase of your evolution while it lasts as the risings will build to an intensity -that will come during meditation after erobic exercise (this is why temples are built in the mountains) -that will leave no doubt in your mind as to what has happened. With that said - it needs to be included that there are no true endings. Only new beginnings.

Paramhansa Yogananda in his book: "Autobiography of a Yogi" wrote "we have about 60,000 thoughts per hour." Of course most are bodily functions and who can count repeating dreams. The understanding of these 'aquired through action' thoughts as dreams: hopes, fears, desires and misunderstandings are the foundation of savasana meditation. Not to reach this understanding is to remain within the hell within us untill we work them out through Karma . . . Whereas IF these dreams: hopes, fears, desires and misunderstandings are not neutralized at some point by understanding them - Our lives repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat the same mistakes ...etc. And you begin to realize the true hell of repetition.
