  1. Looking for a statue of Lao Tzu

I called the shop "Amazing Grace" ,Listed by Marblehead Posted Aug 13 2009, 04:38 AM , and a real person answered (in English) using the shop name. It is in the Hong Kong International airport which is the most expensive shop rent in Hong Kong. I would e-mail them to see if they have what you want at [email protected] Amazing Grace, Shop 192, East Hall, Terminal One, Level 7, Skymart, Hong Kong International Airport . Tel. (852) 2186-6675. http://www.amazinggracehk.com/Stores.html
  2. Taoism and alcohol

U guys got a lot of strange ideas. Read history. After defeating China with gunships, that Emperess Cixi. did not see the reason to build and taking posession of Hong Kong -The British paid all workers in opium. Anyone that could not tolerate the hunger pains smoked Opium to stop the pain. The British then took the money and what could be valued back to England. Soon China was out of cash. Opium became the cash. Forget reading, watch TV: The above led to an addiction rate of more than 90% of the population. Watch the video: The Ascent of Money Part 6 It's in about the first 15 min. http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?docid...oney&hl=en#
  3. If you can meditate at the beginning of the day and when you feel the anxiety - it helps me to become re-centered. When I left home to go to the university at age 17 (I am from a really small town in the mountains of N.C.) I would dream of home and the places I liked to go walking. When I went back - my friends asked me why didn't I stop. I asked them what they were talking about and was told that they saw me walking and called out but I never stopped to talk to them... I asked them what time was it that they saw me? Every one that saw me said it was past 10PM. I told them that I always was asleep by that time.
  4. Avatar: The last airbender

The man that did the Chinese calligraphy, in the last airbender, Dr. Siu Leung Lee (PhD in Organic chemistry) writes under this name: SL Lee at http://www.asiawind.com/forums/list.php?f=2 You will need to sign in to send him a message but I think that Dr. Lee would like to hear how the show is being accepted in the western culture. There are a few people in his family that are named Siu Leung Lee - it means Little Dragon Lee - the most famous is Bruce Lee. http://www.12hk.com/area/TST/BruceLeeStatu...G_1899_w600.jpg
  5. Taoism and alcohol

Mein un Mein bak: rarely if ever ? I think that I have just been reminded how much I really dislike even simple conversations with christian minded drunks.
  6. Music in Taoist philosophy

Here's a webpage of Chinese music http://www.chinapage.com/sound/mp3/music.html I began learning music by playing the Xun that is the last musical instrument on the page and the only one pictured. the song is about 8 minuites. An interesting talent that I have picked up by learning to play music is that I have become ambidexterious... The webpage http://www.chinapage.com is a never ending treasure chest for Chinese culture.
  7. Taoism and alcohol

Alcoholic drinks enjoy a strange place in history as the people that drank it, instead of the diseased water, did not get the diseases ithe water carried - simply because the distilled spirits were made pure by boiling it. Even the water used to make beer & wine was boiled to avoid the sugars being converted into vinegar instead of alcohol. The reality of alcohol is that it is the feces of a bacteria called yeast. The lesson to learn from it is that Television tells many lies. A key point in learning is to avoid the conditioning of lies Confuscious said: "to see the future, study the past." I find that it works with understanding the present too. As to "Taoism and alcohol" The Chinese rarely, if ever, drink. It is not unusual for a drunk driver that kills to be sentenced to death Drunk driver gets death http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/cndy/2009-07/...ent_8471594.htm
  8. Yarrow Stick Method

You Be Lost ! The I Ching in Chinese (Cantonese dialect) is "Ba Gua" Ba = 8 Gua is language Together it means language of 8's There is Buddhist I Ching, Taoist I Ching, Confucian I Ching The above 3 are translated by Thomas Cleary. The King Wen/Duke of Chou I Ching of government. Each one describes a different subject from 8 opposing perspectives. To study the I Ching's Phillosophy - if you can find one - get The Pocket I Ching Based on Wilhelm's translation but simplified by W.S. Boardman - only 130 pages but it keeps the essence. WoW - Here's one for .01$ http://www.amazon.com/Pocket-Ching-Richard...n/dp/014019049X Loose the yarrow sticks... It will free your mind to see the true reality of a great book. I had to give mine away too
  9. Meditation

  10. Kunlun follow up poll

    What is Kunlun ?
  11. Tibetan Herbs

As Tibet is a district of China, in the upper central portion of China, I would think that the book of Chinese medicine would be of interest http://www.amazon.com/Barefoot-Doctors-Man...s/dp/0780800095 It contains all of the herbs and remedies of all of China that Mao Tse Tung's doctors thought worth preserving.
  12. Abortion...

Although a person's birthday is calculated from 10 months before their being born, the Chinese see life beginning from the time a baby makes the first sound. Can a child exist within humanity without making a mark? Before that time a spirit does not resiide in body.
  13. I've been shifting from using the words of Buddhas, Lao Tze's etc as a way to grow - to using their words as a way to not do or to do things. Example being to erase my currently accumilated karma through Buddhist phillosophy as in http://www.amtbweb.org/tchquote.php And from that point to use my newly refurbished mind to explore the techniques of meditation. So much has been written about the great masters that the practice seems to have become secondary to their words... Reversal is the Way of the Tao
  14. What Exactly Is A Kundalini Experience?

In my experience, I've had several small enlightenment experiences with one ball buster - which seem to be growing each time. The Kundalini are of a different nature as they are what I term as 'risings' and are also growing in direct relation to my amount of practice. They also work along the spine in much the way you have described. What worked for me was this book: (85 pages with 10 of the 85 being pictures - a very easy read.) The Five Tibetans at http://www.amazon.com/Five-Tibetans-Dynami...l/dp/0892814500 As far as being 'The' experience - I shy away from the term. What I do work toward is a growing and hopefully never-ending experience - which, so far, it has been - for the last 20 years. My analysis of the 2 styles of enlightenment coming from: Buddhist meditation and Kundalini meditation is that Kundalini is interesting in a hatha yoga way whereas the Buddhist styles of meditation will take longer but will, by far, give back the most. What I am also finding is that when I meditate -the experiences seem to be an extension to each of the forms of meditation. This is to say that although the physical symptoms may have ceased, the mental growth is still happening. Currently I am exploring Astral Projection (OBE) through using the Savasana. The problem I am having is - when I get out - where do I want to go? Playing with Conceptionalization whle using meditation is another.
  15. The Taoists in China do not see the Tao as having a god. Rather they have the: "Zi or Tzu or Tze" all are same just different English spellings. They are considered to be of a level of intell that they can see the most simple and natural way that natural law works in society. Most Chinese will write their names as: Confucious is Kung Fu Tze LaoZu is Lao Tze Chung zu is Zhuang Zi The Zi's and Tze's mean Child as in Child's mind. When Chinese use the term 'god' , unless they are christian, moslem, or hebrew - they mean 'natural law' CHUNG Yoon Ngan at : http://www.asiawind.com/forums/list.php?f=2 is a -very- good person to write about questions of this nature. He is retired and writes for Austrailian newspapers on Chinese culture.
  16. any one else got this "symptom"?

I've done Kundalini for about 2 or 3 years with absolutely no problems. I do have the energy rush AKA: 'risings' when a chakra is opened but nothing like your situation. I usually only see my GF on the full moon - when she is hot. That is the natural timing for sex with humans.
  17. Nikola Tesla

Good subject - I've been studying Nikola Tesla for some years - and found much more than I had discovered before... Although it seems that your original URL has become a dead end. True to Nature, when one dies, another is born. I found one that opens up to 8 more. Hosted by Dean Stockwell & many more... Part 1
  18. RRRRReally Good Find ! World Health Org (Who) admitting deception for experimentation on an 'unknowing' human population. The more I learn about governments - the more I look for a place that they cannot find me.
  19. A mind that uses Reason? Confuscious said: To see the future, look to the past. Educated westerners say that "History Repeats itself." The Chinese say that if you know the Bagua (Language of 8 ) or I Ching in English, you can see into the future.
  20. What is Suffering?

Amigo- maybe all we got to worry about is the mechanics of the process .. Si ? Maybe we just need to get the 3 parts working in tune Like a fine chebby ! Got to breathing ok, got to have good gas, got to have the beautiful body... Then got to give it a run untill all is fine tuned. Ain't no big thing. We all done it before when being born. No better place to meditate besides the mama's womb. No better place for da grub besides mama's own umbilical cord feeding. And there for sure ain't no better breath than that first breath to wake a baby! Original means to originate (orig ) from nature (nal) All that is - has been before with its own natural origins including enlightenment. Buddha was only a teacher of what he had experienced. No God, No Savior, Only a man wanting to give relief To stop suffering from ignorance by turning on the light.
  21. What is Suffering?

Could Suffering be Non-Enlightenment? What is a clear mind worth?
  22. Reverse breathing is taught extensively in Kundalini Yoga and the Taoist manual "The Secret of The Golden Flower". I've done it for -many- years without harm. I have used it for 12 years in Chito Ryu Japanese Karate (full contact) I meditate when sparing - guard your belly as well as your head. It is just breathing into the abdomen and then circulating it through the chakras - beginning at the base and moving up. It is also called 'baby breath style' as this is the way babies breathe. Try this - work out & then meditate for about 15 minuites each day practing the reverse breathing technique.. Focus more on meditation. The reason it becomes popular is only that it is used as an essential tool for enlightenment. The other two tools are exercise and meditation. In my aviitar picture there are 3 animals - the 2 dragons and the tiger that embrace the Tao. These are from The Jade Emperors Mind Seal Classic . The tiger is the mind in meditation. The 2 Dragons are Breath and Body (exercise) Have you noticed that Almost All Buddhist and Taoist Monistaries are located on a mountain? Check it out: WuDang Taoist temple in China: ~..~ Back to reversal... Here it is again: 2nd paragraph, 2nd sentence: "Reversal is the way of the Tao" http://www.thetaobums.com/Doctrine-and-The...Yang-t4828.html For more information: Turn to page# 33 Breathing. In this book: The Five Tibetans: by Christopher S. Kilham Also here at exercise #1 http://www.lifeevents.org/5-tibetans-energ...n-exercises.htm
  23. Kunlun Answer Bag

Thanks - I've been watching it again as well. It reminds me to practice. The Taoist book that supports Astral travel is The Secret of The Golden Flower:
