Well... hes doing something right Hubbah Hubbah EDIT: This is the video actually http://vimeo.com/5313647 , quick search of the exact title and google popped it right up
  2. Verdesi

I've found the stories I've read around concerning this guy pretty funny  I also saw his prices, they're no joke though I happen to get some exercise video of his with russian dubbing or something from somewhere (can't remember), not even sure I still have it. What was in it? Some stretching exercises and stuff like that if I remember correctly, seemed ok, but probably not ok for the prices I would imagine he charged.
  3. Why I am against 'powers'

BLASPHEMY! I just had to say it But I can see the defence to john chang being: He is rich, doesn't have reason to trick people, he can't take a penny from his skills anyway. He has nothing to prove to you or the world, your loss. And thats where it stays... Thats why I wish Masters with such power made a bigger effort on showing this stuff is real...if it is... And on a side note, John Chang has been in a car crash, but his body was protected from any injury, yin chi absorb impact, or yang made his body rock hard.
  4. Why I am against 'powers'

Thanks, and I sure hope so, because I want to believe! But you know, it ain't easy to just believe (for me anyway) when the world works the way it does (or seems to) This cool concept came to me in a strange dream actually, was it all Fantasy or Revelation? If I ever find out I'll let you know
  5. Why I am against 'powers'

Well, what about the crazy man who believes he can fly? I'm sure there must be one out there, but I'm also sure hes not flying around. If such powers are real, I think it must take more than a free mind to use them. Unless the belief of the majority that it is not possible stops the whole world from doing it. The only way it would become possible again is if 51% of the world became believers. Or maybe if you can somehow shield yourself from the belief of the world, making anything possible within your sphere of influence. Maybe meditation expands your sphere of influence outwards, and when it extends far enough, and is dense enough, you can do what you want within it
  6. Why I am against 'powers'

Thanks for the story, your "powers" you thought you had is exactly why I can't accept anecdotal evidence from people. Proof > Faith if you're planning to truly invest on something. As for wanting special powers i think its fine, maybe in your case there were deeper issues at hand, but not all are like this. I'd love to fly, it would be fun and very convenient to get around. Birds do it, and they don't seem to be on some kinda power trip But I also agree with Spirit Ape, though I'd just change 1 word "If you attained any powers you might truly think totally different."
  7. Amongst White Clouds

I found it pretty depressing to be honest.... And I didn't see anything that special about the masters in solitude, they were nice people, but you can meet nice people who arent trying to completely isolate themselves from everyone else. I see no need or benefit of leading a life like that, sorry but I just feel sorry for them... Respect for surviving with nothing much though. The only one that seemed truly content was the one with the beard and some students ( the one who isn't in complete solitude, go figure). No insult intended but I don't think you should base your existence in this world on scripture...

Thank you, and you're welcome, Peace and Love!

You all want truth? There are no rules, only consequences. Any guidelines given by people over the ages are not dogma, but guidelines to follow in order to avoid consequences. And in case anyone has not yet realised, what Musashi wrote was aimed at those who strive to be the greatest warriors! Not you guys who sit around just meditating, drinking tea, typing on forums, playing PS3, living a modern day lifestyle etc.. The guideline is for the most dedicated W-A-R-R-I-O-R-S thats how i see it anyway AND I AM RIGHT! i spoke to his spirit, he told me so

"The Way to be Followed Alone" depend on no one and nothing but yourself, you are ready to walk alone so you can be the best at what you do, in his case swordsmanship. Accept everything just the way it is. You're not here to change the world, stop sulking and get working with whats there Do not seek pleasure for its own sake. pleasure is just a feeling that will pass, it has no good long term investment Do not, under any circumstances, depend on a partial feeling. dont make guesses. You have a feeling this guy is gonna swing his sword from left to right? well dont bet your life on it! Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world. you'll be fine as long as you have the world figured out Be detached from desire your whole life long. dont be led astray from your real goals Do not regret what you have done. maybe includes feeling bad about men you have cut down in duels? Never be jealous. leads to unwise decisions Never let yourself be saddened by a separation. Life goes on, you had a good time, move on you have nothing to gain by feeling sad (doesnt mean you cant look back and feel good from the happy times you had) Resentment and complaint are appropriate neither for oneself nor others. waste of time annd energy for one who goes the way to be followed alone Do not let yourself be guided by the feeling of lust or love. Love and lust, but dont be GUIDED by it In all things have no preferences. just do what you gotta do with what you got Be indifferent to where you live. just live where conditions are best for you at the moment Do not pursue the taste of good food. eat food that makes you strong, forget taste Do not hold on to possessions you no longer need. can be heavy carrying too much stuff on your own Do not act following customary beliefs. do not follow something just because others do Do not collect weapons or practice with weapons beyond what is useful. weapons arent for show, they have 1 sole purpose, and thats the only one that matters Do not fear death. Do not FEAR death, doesnt mean you dont care if you die. Fear can get you killed. Do not seek to possess either goods or fiefs for your old age. your prime time of life when you're strong will be wasted trying to make money. you can always make money when you're old, but you can never be at your prime once the time has passed. Respect Buddha and the gods without counting on their help. respect for a higher power, but remember you're the only one who is gonna save your own ass in a pinch You may abandon your own body but you must preserve your honour. if you're a true warrior you knew from the start your life was gonna be on the line each duel, so if you're gonna die, die with honour Never stray from the Way. enough said

Hey Mal, glad you've been enjoying the manga and been inspired to look into its base further When I began to read it I couldn't put it down until I reached the current chapters Now though I have to wait 1 month between chapters sorry to do this to you too, since you'll be waiting too in the future
  13. Stripping The Gurus

Dwai had said you cant get really far without a guru to guide you, you're an arrogant westerner if you think so. That is Why. You want to develop spiritually? You must walk this spiritual path, your guru knows best, if you knew best you wouldn't need a guru. So walk it or forget spiritual advancement. I'm too tired tonight, i just came for a quick lurk before bed and I get this enjoy your point of view, goodbye
  14. Stripping The Gurus

 More like there is nothing you can spell out that is really a strong argument for your point of view.... Let me spell it out to you in a simple straight forward way. Point 1: Teacher who teaches = OK (yes it is ok, even to us arrogant westerners) Teacher who takes advantage of your situation = NOT OK --------- Point 2: You say guru = essential. Therefore 1 cannot fully develop spiritually without one. Meaning the Gurus have a monopoly on your spiritual development. No matter what is asked, you must follow if you want to fully develop spiritually. Now when someone does something they normally wouldn't, because the guru used his monopoly on your spiritual future, how can you blame the aspirants? LOL
  15. Stripping The Gurus

no. Ignorance would be if the student had heard bad things this teacher had done, but chose to ignore that and continue to follow him. Innocence would be if the student would not expect his guru to take his money for personal gain, he had no reason to even think that, he is innocent.
  16. Stripping The Gurus

I think his point is that who is at fault is very situation dependant and will vary.
  17. Stripping The Gurus

Innocent ≠ Ignorant - That Guy
  18. Stripping The Gurus

I think hes just saying, if the victims were naive, innocent or whatever it shouldn't matter because they were all seeking to improve themselves.
  19. Stripping The Gurus

Can you blame an innocent person for being misled by their guru? I mean you know.. they're innocent Hardyg, if I get what you're saying, i 100% agree.
  20. Stripping The Gurus

AND might I add, that it is not always a question of people being "stupid", but people being innocent. Having innocence, like a child.
  21. Stripping The Gurus

keep going west and you'll reach the "east", and eventually yourself, the world is round.... This whole east west thing is BS, you can only judge people as individuals.
  22. Stripping The Gurus

BUt it was the only way he could clear that big blockage in his throat chakra! What would you choose to follow? Your limited western arrogant common sense or your Guru who is your spiritual guide!?
  23. Stripping The Gurus

 If you do something you wouldn't usually do based on a lie you were told, you're a victim. You been coned, lied to etc. The gurus controlled people through deceitful means, they are responsible for taking advantage of the aspirants. sheesh "ohh westerners this westerners that, they don't understand blah blah blah...." How about YOU don't understand? Us "westerners" (as you have so unjudgementally labelled us all) have nothing against teachers, teachers who con others? then why yes we do well I do anyway. Here is a funny story by me: Westerner: Hi i would like to learn from a Guru, but I don't know about this whole guru thing... Dwai: Well! You westerners just dont understand blah blah blah.... 30mins later~ Dwai: ....you wont get that far without a guru you arrogant westerner. Westerner: Oh wow, now that you have explained what a guru is to my western mind, I guess having one is ok and essential. 1 year later~ Dwai: Why hello westerner how are you? Westerner: well... I'm ok... but... my guru... I followed his every word like I was suppose to for my spiritual development, our relationship was like the Father-child relationship, the best friend relationship, the soul-mate relationship, the brotherly relationship, the Mother-child relationship All rolled into one... Dwai: well what happened? Westerner: He told me I had to blow him in order to unblock my throat chakra, later he also said I had to donate all my savings to his charity so I can learn about compassion. Turns out he just likes oral and money... I just feel the lowest I ve ever felt i my entire life now... Dwai: Well its your fault. THE END
  24. The Kunlun Story

Thanks Mal, I hope someone can tell us what happened to it. I wanted to know so I could begin searching for it if it was out there somewhere
