Tai Shang Men - Xiao Yao Pai - LONDON Event.

It's too bad the Monkey God decided not to teach you about the virtue of modesty. Perhaps it is for this you should be praying to him? Power comes in many shapes and forms. Some more praised than others. -
I am starting to read it now, but I have gone through the whole book while stretching the binding and I can tell you now, that this appears to be the most detailed practical manual ever written discussing Taoist alchemy.

It's FINALLY HERE! 31 days is how long it took. Be patient guys.

Believe me, you're not even on the list of persons I'd consider crying to in the event of anything. BTW, you forgot to add the following 3 lines to your former post: Your arrogance and self content is just beyond words, Wu shi. -

You mean, that the heart energy goes down to the LDT on inhale and then back up to the MDT on exhale right?

Tai Shang Men - Xiao Yao Pai - LONDON Event.

The Tai Shang Men southern school of spiritual Taoism generally known as Zhen Yi Pai, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to introduce Taoism in its complete form; philosophy, religion and spiritual arts and skills. The Taoist Divine Art taught by the school, called Tao Yin Shu, is a rare part of Taoism which has been hidden for thousands of years not only from non-Chinese, but also within the Chinese community and it's people. Over the many years, the art has been passed down to but a select few disciples and has remained obscure to even the most knowledgeable and informed practitioners. But in the year 1970, something revolutionary happened, and the current Taoist Grandmaster of Xiao Yao Pai, Lie Shang Hu Tao Se, whom at the time lived in Indonesia, rose above this tradition and began openly teaching the secret knowledge of the Tai Shang Men sect for the first time in the history of the school. Year after year, many new disciples were initiated as Taoists under Xiao Yao Pai and the school grew bigger and bigger. Today, there are followers of the school spread throughout the many provinces of Indonesia, most of which are active in traditional Chinese Temples and many others whom choose to practice Tao Yin Shu in the privacy of their own homes. Shortly after the systems' rapid increase in popularity began to sweep across the country, a zealous group of Tao Yin Shu practitioners decided that they needed an independent space where the Divine Taoist Arts could be cultivated. One which would effectively represent the characteristics of the school and act as a venue where Taoist activities and events could be held. And thus, in 1996, the first official Tai Shang Men temple was established in Lampung, Sumatra, and Xiao Yao Pai finally had a home that was open to all. As a testament to the schools success, today, there are over 15 Tai Shang Men temples all around Indonesia. By the year 2000, the Indonesian Taoist Association was founded (PUTI), as an organization which would help to manage it's over 20,000 active and practicing disciples. The organizations focus is on social activity and development. If you can read Indonesian, feel free to visit the PUTIs website: http://www.taoindonesia.org/ http://taoindonesia.info/ In the next years, Xiao Yao Pai continues to reach out to people and many disciples were eager to establish Taoist Temples in their own towns. To support this idea, in 2003, we made Majelis Tridharma Indonesia (MTI), an Indonesian Taoist Council, that is registered by the Indonesian government as a formal organization of the Taoist religion. The MTIs website. http://www.tridharma.org/ In Indonesia Tao Yin Shu was never officially advertised and it's popularity has always been a direct result of word of mouth. But as we have it today, and with the advent of the internet, words have gained a much more expansive reach than ever possible before. And so in 2007, Grand Master Lie Sang Hu gave us permission to introduce our ancient art to the west, and in 2009 we held the first initiation ceremony in the USA, heralding a new era of Xiao Yao Pai. Now in 2013 and for the first time, a remarkable opportunity to learn Tao Yin Shu is coming directly to the UK. We hope this ancient art can become a light for humanity. The 2 day initiation event planned is to be held in London, the objective of which will be to introduce participants to a Taoist system of spiritual cultivation called Tao Yin Shu or as mentioned before, the Taoist Divine Art. Day 1 will consist of a short seminar lasting about two hours, which will explain the basic concepts of Taoism, followed by a Tao Yin initiation performed by a Taoist Master. The Tao Yin initiation ceremony will trigger and awaken in you the ability to communicate with your Fu Fak Shen and officially make you a disciple of Tai Shang Lao Jun. Once initiated, practitioners will be able to connect with other dimensions in a fully aware non-trance state and establish a connection with the divine realms. Among many other things, this ability will allow you to connect and communicate with any immortal or holy spirit across any belief system, allow you to unravel the secrets of life and the after-life and lead you into the core understanding of Taoism, which is the fundamental origin of all Taoist skills and knowledge such as, medicine, feng shui (geomancy), meditation, talisman skills, ceremonies etc. Your Fu Fak Shen or "guardian" spirit, will establish a connection for communication directly to you and guide you through your practice in a manner specific to your level of development and understanding. During day 2, you will be trained in how to perform Taoist exercises, including basic Qi Gong (Breath exercises) and Jing Zuo (meditation.) After the seminar and initiation event. You can go back home and continue to safely practice the system under the guidance of your Fu Fak Shen, without the need for further assistance. This is a rare opportunity to be initiated by a Taoist Master from a rare Taoist school. NB: At this time there is officially no charge for participating and the Taoist Master will incur the charges for his return ticket from Indonesia to London and back, specifically in order to hold this 2 day event, however, depending on the amount of participants and the resulting venue and accommodation required to hold the event, there will most likely be a small fee which will be split among all participants in order to cover the cost of renting an event space and accommodating the Taoist Master for his 2 day stay in London. Alternatively. The Taoist Master also accepts to be a guest in any participants house for the duration of the seminar and if there is a large enough property available, the event can also be held at a participants residence. In this way, we can eliminate the need for entrance fees all together and keep the event free of charge. We look forward to your attendance and welcome you into the world of Spiritual Taoism through the Tai Shang Men school. -

Drew-san, I will read up what you have on your blog and put it in here. Please guys, use the format I've started with so we can catalogue all the information easily from everyones' contributions. - Purpose / Goal - Prerequisites - Body Requirements - Mind Requirements - Manifestions and Confirmatory Signs - Cautionary Notes / Warnings Also. I do not want to follow the order of the book completely, because it always jumps back between chapters and that can get confusing. Lets do it in sequential steps, where every step concentrates solely on itself and does not include terminology from future steps, so that people who are reading it do not get confused. Joe. Every time we reach a consensus on a step, well put it in a different thread that will just be a straight up instruction manual and be like Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 each of which will consist the collective contributions from the posters. Nothing random though. Minority opinions will not be included We need a majority vote to conclude a step. Arigato gozaimasuuuu

OK. These are my 2 cents towards STEP 1. So the generative force is drawn up from the root of the penis (the hui yin/perineum area), where it is gathered, UP to the LDT where through regulated breathing it is transmuted into the alchemical agent. THUS, my understanding of these excerpts is that this is the sequential progression of transmutations up to this point: Generative Force >> Outer Alchemical Agent So, similarly to the UDT containing the precious cauldron, which does not exist until vitality develops and unites with essential nature to become one whole. The LDT also does not exist until the generative force develops. By my experience, I concur. I do not understand what the difference between negative and positive generative force are. This is for those of you who haven't played with your twinkie bars yet or popped your cork. Ok. I cannot find anything else in the book about this so far. Prerequisites: - Mind and Body Celibacy (No sex, no mastrubation, no sexual thoughts, no edging, no touching) - Any sexual thoughts will turn the generative force into generative fluid. If you are sensitive enough you will feel it happen. If it begins to de-convert you have to store it back in the LDT through RAB or NAB and your yi/will or you can cause wet dreams. - No movement during your sessions. The JING, naturally settles and builds up when the body is not in motion. If you move you engage the will from its residence in the spleen(earth element) and it will move to the limbs, and where the mind goes the Qi goes, where the Qi goes, the breath goes. Thoughts will arise, thoughts require breath/qi to function. So movement of any kind is counter productive, while sitting. Here is what I think should happen from a practical stand point: Practical Application: Mind Requirements: - Practice maintaining a state of non-thinking and detachment from thoughts during meditation to reach a state of calm and serenity, in order to tie up the 6th consciousness. - Detach from the 5 senses as much as you can, in order not to arouse the heart and facilitate stilling the mind/heart complex. - Use the will/yi to concentrate on the LDT. Do not force it, but do not let it drift away. Try to find a balance of your intent that lies between voluntary concentration and non-doing. It is a state of action without desire. Body Requirements: - Reverse Abdominal Breathing (RAB) - On the inhale the lower abdomen is sucked in gently, the perineum is sucked up/into the body gently, the anus is sucked in towards the belly button. The diaphragm will press down as the lungs expand, so you have 4 walls (including the Ming Men of the lower back, opposite the navel) all pushing in, creating a compression of the LDT. - Normal Abdominal Breathing (NAB) - Same as the above only the compression and the drawing in/up of the different body parts happens on the exhale. The difference here is that on the exhale the diaphragm is pushed up and not down, so you get a box with an open cap, where the LDT is in the middle of the box and the generative force is compressed. If you want to actively emphasize the process you can visualize drawing into the LDT, yin chi from the testicles, the soles of the feet up the leg channels into the perineum and from the earth into the perineum. All this energy is compressed into the LDT. You can also visualize sucking in air and Qi through every pore of your body from every direction, the earth, the air, the moon, the stars, the sun, the clouds, with all these streams meeting in the LDT where they are compressed. On the exhale your return the energy out of the body through the pores, but the LDTs energy is compounded regardless. Manifestations & Confirmatory Signs: - As the generative force increases in the LDT, I've experienced tingling throughout the body, vibration and heat in the LDT. - Qi flowing around the Belt Vessel circling the waist. - Pulsing of the third eye Yin Tang point. - Erratic movements as channels are cleared by the extra energy. - Cautionary Notes / Warnings: None at this point. Ok, this is what I have on this part. Anyone else care to contribute, so we can reach a consensus on STEP 1?
-
Lets discuss step one and once we have enough input from respectable members, we will edit post #192 and make it an official Step from the TY book. Have your books handy! Who's first? : )

I recently met some monks in a Buddhist monastery, that have been meditating for over 20 years. Two of which had achieved enlightenment, one a monk and the other a nun. By the qualifications and gradations of the Damma, they were Arhats. Ones who had reached the ultimate goal and after death, would not rejoin the wheel of Samsara. So, ok. All fine and dandy. BUT. Some of these guys. Didn't look... emn.. in the BEST of health. Not the type of health you'd imagine, if you were a Taoist practitioner. Now. To annihilate the mind and achieve enlightenment is no small feat. This is cultivation of Nature in Taoism, where in some sects, there is dual cultivation; that of Nature and Life. One cannot achieve the ultimate goal in Taoism it is said, if they cultivate only nature or only life. Dual cultivation is required. Thus the body must be refined (life) until perfection and the mind (nature) must be refined until perfection. And although the mind cannot be refined without the body, the mind cannot reach the pinnacle of it's absolute goal WITH the body still in clinging. SO all phenomena, conceptions and attachments must be evaporated to attain the final goal of Taoism, similar to Buddhism. In the final stages of Taoist cultivation and also from what I've heard of Tibetan disciplines, the body's 5 elements are dispersed and the body is transmuted into eternity. Now, Buddhists on the other hand, don't seem to care much about this from what I've seen. Please correct me If i'm wrong as I am trying to understand here. But it seems that they only deal with the direct refinement of mind. Now I really don't understand what the implications of this are. Does it mean that ultimately, they can only crate Yin Shen and not Yang Shen, having not assimilated or developed the counter part to the mind? By the Gods, I do not understand how little ol me, can meditate 2 hours a day for 3 months and have enough Qi running through me to dissolve cancerous tumors and heal people. And a monk doing insight meditation for 20 years, claims he has never experienced anything even remotely similar to energy. No rushed up the spine, no rumbles or heat in the belly, no lights seen, nada. And no they weren't lying. I described very specific and common physical and energetic manifestations to them to probe into their experiences and they could not relate to even ONE, where, were I speaking to a Taoist who had been meditating for 20 years, whom was practicing an EFFECTIVE discipline, they would at the least have opened the MCO. So I am very confused about all this, because fundamentally we all have the same physiology (sex differences aside), so one would imagine that a powerful path such as Buddhism would develop the body's faculties, regardless of whether they were being concentrated on or not. At least I would imagine it to be so. And btw, just to say, in regard to how effective Buddhism and the 8th fold path with the right teacher and the right meditation regime. Well. It is miraculous transformation to say the least. The only thing that negates this assumption is the fact that Taoist Alchemy can be complicated, there are firing times, times to breath and not breath, times to initiate heel breathing and times not to, times to use the bellows and times not to, times to gather agents, times to combine agents, times to concentrate agents, time to pacify agents, times to invigorate agents, methods of restrain, transmutation and transformation. So in effect, it is not a direct path that one could simple blind fold themselves and walk in a straight line, where there are walls on either side to bump you on the shoulders and keep you centered. It is more like a maze, with dead ends and pits with spikes in the ground. Looking at it this way. I can imagine how the monks and nuns I met, even the Arhats may have gotten to stages in their energetic development and due to their lack of practical alchemical knowledge simple counteracted the process inadvertently by IE. by not stopping breathing when necessary or ejecting the agent out of the pee pee or butt hole. My goal is not to become Superman, but it is to help people. And being able to heal in the way that Taoism develops the physical body and energetic body is paramount to realizing that cause. In other words, if I was blessed enough to reach enlightenment through Buddhism, I would not want to spend the rest of my days simply talking to people, or would not want to wait 10-20 years to attain enlightenment of the mind, meanwhile not doing anything useful to help others while you're on the path. Is there something I am not understanding about Buddhist meditation yet or? Did Siddhartha practice dual cultivation? Are the monks of today practicing insight and reaching Enlightenment not able to heal and use energies like Taoists do? Did the Buddha ever exhibit healing skills or any Qi Gong skills or Gong Fu? Throw your cents please.

I think it does buddy. Been going through the same thing. Often I don't know how to tell them about it so I lie and say, hey, I had a "dream about you last night", even though it normally occurs in a fully wakeful state.

Indeed, too many people on this forum throw terminology around without ever explaining the basic psycho-physiological mechanics required to bring about the manifestation of their terms. Most of what we practice does not go beyond simple things like, moving the anus, moving the perineum, moving the abdomen, breathing quickly, breathing slowly, holding the breath, stopping the breath, moving the eyes, closing the eyes, opening the eyes, shutting the nose, shutting the anus, finger mudras, half-lotus, full-lotus, sitting in a chair, laying down, walking, standing, relaxing, inhaling, exhaling, shaking, pinching, pulling, pushing, compressing, expanding, directing the intention, restraining the intention and finally wu wei. So why then is everyone so lost for words when it comes to simple clarifications as if there is more to it than this? If you cannot explain it in simple words, you do not understand it well enough.

Bump. -
Yes I own it. I read it in the morning, I read it at lunch, at dinner, at desert time, on the can, on the train, on the bus, in the park. I read it all the time. It must be our brains MAN! They are different! Because I can read Taoist Yoga and it SPEAKS to me. This was so hard to read omg haha. I've never struggled so much with a book. BUT I am determined to make it make sense to me, So I am going to start reading it again today from the beginning. The discussions in the Q and A session at the end of the book were GREAT. But man... the grammatical errors and lack of organization in the rest of it... I kid you not. While i was reading it. I really though somebody sent me this book to troll me. Because I thought this can't be. There just can't be so many mistakes in a published book lol Anyhow. I have learned from it, yes, but it's not easy for me. Not because I don't understand the concepts, but because my mind finds it difficult to synchronize to the though and speech pattern of the translator.
-
I'd love to review it, but I'm still waiting for mine since I ordered it on the 20th. It's been nearly a month O_O I ordered Ling Bao Tong Zhi Neng Nei Gong Shu by Wang Li Ping, on someones recommendation here and it has been the most disorganized and poorly translated book I have ever read in my life. It's riddled with grammatical errors that sometimes make whole paragraphs make no SENSE whatsoever and the author just assumes by default that everyone speaks Mandarin. Also it's very poorly illustrated. There are very useful things in there, but wow... Really, the lowest quality book I have ever read in my life. The illustrations, once again are just laughable... I am going to give it a few more reads regardless.

Possibly. -
Drew, Considering all the different phases and levels described not only in TY but it many other manuals, what do you think would happen to a practicer that solely concentrated on the LDT in his practice, regardless of manifestations of Spirit, Vitality, Unions, Transmutations, Embryo etc. If they just abided in non-discrimination and practice wu wei on the LDT, do you think the alchemical agent would spoil sooner or later when he reaches a process where something particular is required ie: intention, circulation among specific routes, or do you think the body/mind/spirit inherently will know how to transmute san bao and create the immortal all on it's own?
-
I agree with you Drew. In fact I am planning to do at least 2 healing sessions with Nance or Lin as I am moving to a monastery full time and would like to get the a little head start : ) Experience is paramount. No doubt about that. And it is true, all these terms become clear through experience. Still, It would be nice to have a boiled down manual.
-
OK! This is great. Drew, thank you for all the help. Now we have a strong foundation laid down to begin with. I recommend that this be the next phase of this thread: We take the book and boil it down to basic instruction manual. No fancy words, no ambiguous descriptions, no contradictions. Simply Do X (physical/mind practice) in order to manifest Y (fruit of the labor) to achieve Z (the intended result). The process as we know it is such, JING - CHI - SHEN and this will be the encapsulating subject of each phase of practice. My vision for this is as follows (example): Chapter 1 - Filling the LDT Overall Objective - Filling the LDT with JING Step 1 - How to fill the LDT Manifestation: Energetically this, that and this takes place. Lights, vibrations, sounds etc. Result: This phase, does this, prepares you for this, with the purpose of that. Step 2 - What happens when the LDT is filled. Manifestation: Heat, Vibrations, Lights, Sensations, Emissions, Overflows, Du Meridians etc. Result: This phase, does this, prepares you for this, with the purpose of that. Step 3 - How to stop the filled LDT from spilling the JING. Manifestation: What happens etc. Result: This phase, does this, prepares you for this, with the purpose of that. Basically I want the BIGGEST noob, to be able to read this thread and just go oh ok, so in step 1, the purpose is to fill up the LDT with Jing, and i do that by abstaining from sex and emptying the heart through so and so practice, in order to cook the JING and prepare it for ascension up the DU meridian. Hmm.. Oh, it says, I shouldn't watch porn, or play with my twinkie. And it says that, I am likely to experience heat, vibration and maybe even see a unicorn. OK. SIMPLE. Anybody can follow it. No need to know what Yin Qi or Yang Qi or Prenatal Qi or Rainbow Diamond Unicorn Qi is. Simple and straight to the point. I'd like to do this for the WHOLE book. I recommend we start like this. One person will make the posts titled STEP 1, STEP 2, STEP 3 eg. Drew, me, Jascha, joeblast, Dorian. Whoever. So drew posts a new post in this format: Step 1 Filling the LDT Purpose/Goal - Filling the LDT Phase 1 - Practical Application Mind/Body Requirements - .................... Manifestations/Confirmatory Signs - .............. SIMPLE AS THAT. Then, once that post is established, following it. All of us DISCUSS what we interpret that STEP 1 to be, what it requires, what its manifestations are and what its purpose is. ONLY after we reach a majority consensus, does the person who made the post STEP 1, edit the post in order to bring the consensus into the final instruction. Once we are all happy. We move on to STEP 2. Step 2 OPENING THE MCO Purpose/Goal - Leading the JING through the Ren and Du mai. Phase 1 - Practical Application Mind/Body Requirements - .................... Manifestations/Confirmatory Signs - .............. Then the following thread, we once again discuss. This is where all terms are debated and chewed over, until we yet again reach a majority consensus. Once we have. The poster of STEP 2 inputs the information in the STEP by editing the post and so we move on to the next step. Once we reach the end of the book. We create ONE thread as so: Taoist Yoga for NOOBS. Step 1 - Short Title and Post Link Step 2 - Short Title and Post Link Step 3 - Short Title and Post Link Step 15 - Short Title and Post Link For once lets do it right and create something which will help everyone. As remarkable as this thread is in it's current state, it is still NOT organized. Lets organize it. I HAVE A DREAM! That one day, people will be able to understand Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality.....lol I want to eradicate all false understandings of this and do it structurally and systematically, so that anyone can pick it up and just DO. Without being confused. So many people on this thread, THINK they know what the book means here and there, but are often mistaken. So can we all come together as Bums and make this happen?
