The Banning of Herbal Remedies throughout Europe
effilang replied to sunshine's topic in General Discussion
Obviously, because they are better than their overpriced government issued versions? -
I am not a fan of mainstream modern music, even though i am young. I'd like everyone to post a song on here that speaks to their soul. How do you know a song speaks to your soul? - It's one of those songs that makes you spontaneously close your eyes. I have noticed that the eyes take up a lot of the sense energy. Whenever the body needs to use a sense other than sight more particularly, it naturally shuts off sight by closing the eyes. Whether it is to hear better, or feel better or even speak better. When a song enters into your ear and recognizes with your soul, your eyes automatically shut. This is what does it for me; harmonica blues. Please post a song that makes you close your eyes.

Very lovely Water, I put it in my favorites. Based on that sound, you might enjoy this too. It is a traditional Bulgarian song. For some reason they always remind me of Japanese folk songs too, there are a lot of similarities in the way they use the voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3suy4Wj9SA

Yes, i think a video or two at the most per person would have been sufficient for the cause - It crashed my browser and all those posts killed the threads feng shui. BALANCE people, BALANCE!! I tend to find the songs that really stimulate me at the roots to be those without texts. Although i've listened to rap the majority of my life and other things, rap will never touch me the way soul or blues can or even classical music. It's simply too... "heavy", and the texts do little to calm the spirit, they are too aggressive for this purpose. Violence and aggression are not the native personality of the spirit at ease. Blues on the other hand or that soft Portuguese music. It seems to connect directly with me, it will make me sway and move almost as if being placed in a trance. Rap and Hip-Hop in general is too aggressive to do that. Even when the text is not aggressive, the instrumentals are, so for me at least, it will never work : ) Don't get offended Rap lovers. I probably have more rap music on my pc than most of you, but probably just as much of everything else : )

His practices also remind me very much of Bone Marrow Washing and most of these methods are available in the Qi Gong Institutes correspondence course. There, they also mention that the secret to developing real internal power lies in the control of the sphincter during breathing. Still, nothing beats a video and his personality is very refreshing so i can see why it sells. I'd certainly buy it myself : ) -

CONDENSED BREATHING Part 1 CONDENSED BREATHING Part 2 To those who have actually bought the costly course. Would you say one could achieve similar results as those advertised by simply following the instructions in those promotional videos? It is odd that i seem to already do these practices on my own spontaneously, but it is always nice to see a "proven" teacher in action. -
Shouldn't the second cauldron be opposite the second gate? I have never quite understood what is meant by 36 ascents of positive fire & 24, but being the way i am never pursued an answer. Now that someone else has raised it, i wonder if anyone can explain this. How is it that you have unequal numbers of ascent and descent in the MCO. By fire the cycle is up the DU and down the REN, so how does one complete a cycle unevenly?

thoth, If you sit down and mediate on your lower dan tien while being celibate and breathing naturally the sexual energy will convert and flow where it needs to flow on it's own. You will get better control of your sexual organs and in time with a lot of perseverance you will stop the flow of semen. I have heard that some people can achieve this under two years. What is your actual goal here? To fuck your girl/boyfriend all night long or spiritual cultivation? Spiritual cultivation requires a lot of detachment at first. Think of yourself like a jigsaw. You have to scramble yourself and then put yourself back together. Meditation helps you break down everything, this phase requires detachment. Then once you reach a certain level your whole being will come together again, but with new programming. Then you can attach to the world again, but with the refined notion of impermanence which will cradle a conscious foundation of detachment. So during the first stage, either you're gonna fuck or you're not gonna fuck, chose one of the two. After that fuck all you want.

Why attempt to emptily compare methods of cultivation that all lead to the same path. Is it not simply a matter of choosing whichever sounds better to you and then following it? I mean. Lets be serious. There is nothing hidden about any of this. The instructions required to attain enlightenment are available in both Buddhism and Taoism for those who dedicate themselves to the path. Is it not like being at a fork in the road and simply having to chose left from right? You know both paths will take you to the same destination sooner or later. Stopping half way down your path to competitively debate the superiority of your decisions against a fellow adventurer to your right who is on the opposite path is childish at the least and not something a dedicated disciple would even consider doing. If anything it is an exhibit of your blatant frustration in your lack of understanding or personal progression of the way and your comparisons and argumentative pronouncements are just a manifestation of your staleness. Do you think that if you took an enlightened Buddhist and told him to meditate and follow Taoist methodology of spiritual cultivation he would care? - He would say sure, why not. All enlightened beings have accepted the infinite nature of our existence, thus in favor of the debaters, even if we were to assume hypothetically that one discipline due to its difference in doctrine and practices gave an advantage over another, would the end result of this favor not boil down to a basic variation in the time it takes to accomplish similar tasks? If the difference between 100 Buddhist books and 100 Taoist books on cultivating true nature is that Taoism might achieve it 50 days faster, assuming in such a scenario that both cultivators have equally fortunate karma, then how INSIGNIFICANT is that to an eternal being. Hell, stretch it. Make it 1000 days, make it 5000 days. If you can come and sit here and genuinely within tell me that you cannot look beyond this, then you are very far from understanding the truth of ANY path out there that is available to you. I mean, just from a logic point of view arguing about this should make you feel stupid and if it doesn't then you are really stupid, because the person who is stupid and knows it can be saved, but he who is stupid and thinks he is smart... well.. good luck to him.

A very inspiring read to anyone cultivating, but how much of that stuff can we really expect or believe. I reality like that for our future would be most welcome : )

In my experience you will not feel any tangible sensation in the dan tien until the Qi that has been built there has finished clearing obstructions in the channels. Thats why it's normal to first feel Qi in the meridians and also get a lot of spasms and shakes, while the charge in the LTT is spreading around to take care of the most immediate issues. Once the body has reached a certain balance, i feel it then concentrates in the tan tien to proceed towards opening the micro cosmic orbit. This progression may be different for everyone, because we are so individual in our compositions, but this is my experience. I have felt though that when the Qi is in the limbs and torso, it is not concentrated in the LTT, and when it is concentrated in the LTT it is not entirely in the limbs. Maybe this might have something to do with the method of breathing, Yin vs Yang, leading the Qi to the LTT vs out to the Limbs. If you feel it in the limbs this is good, especially if/while you're doing external moving exercises. But always do a little sitting meditation afterwards (or a lot) using reverse breathing, to bring the Qi from the extremities back to the LTT, so the charge does not dissipate and can build for the microcosmic breakthrough. You don't need to do anything special. Just be aware of the Tao, be aware of the interconnectivity of everything and everyone and the Qi will build on it's own. Add sitting meditation to that and simple Zhang Zhuang and with persistence you will achieve good results. Some people who are not even spiritual or undertake any sort of practices can have an accident and suddenly attain a level of development comparable to people who have been meditating arduously for years. It's this, it's that, it's all of the above... Just pick one thing, make sure you include sitting meditation and keep doing it and things will happen.
